 Here are some tired old ideas that seem to be bothering, and creating  POTUS’ crises:

 1. United States Constitution

It’s only served us well for two hundred and twenty two years (1787). Why should we believe that these rules should be  followed any longer?  POTUS believes it should be a “living document,” i.e. change the rules we live by as society changes. Since amending the Constitution is a long expensive process it needs to have a fast track system. POTUS proposes that the Supreme Court  interpret the rules by today’s morals, and the laws of other insignificant countries. This way, we get new laws that are being written, not by the Legislative Branch (because they are not capable nor trustworthy to do so) but by the Judicial Branch because the Supreme Court  justices have bigger brains,  more ethics, and are less influenced by lobbiests.

2. Preamble to the Constitution

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,[1] promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Who needs Justice,  Liberty, or Domestic Tranquility? The government will take care of us from cradel to grave. God forbid our Posterity be allowed to enjoy the same freedoms we have enjoyed.

3. Right to bear arms, Second Amendment

Guns taken out of our hands will keep us from killing each other. As a society we will be safer if we give up our guns. It also makes it much easier for a new dictator to take over the country.

4.  Marriage; between a man and a woman

This one has worked since Adam and Eve, it is so old it must be a lousy concept. Besides, the gays are left out. Marriage was invented to make parents responsible for the children they bring into the world. In the new world definition, sex is for recreation. Children are something the government will dictate when and how many we have.

5.  Right to life

The act of procreation is a natural function of our species to bring life into the world, and to ensure the propagation of man. In the new order, new life is something we allow women, and only women to decide to keep. If they chose not to, the population declines. End of life will be determined by the expense of keeping you alive. If it is cost prohibitive, kiss your ass goodbye. If you are a murderer it’s a different story. The death penalty is abolished across all the states. The worst punishment you can receive  is to serve your days in happy contentment living off the system.

6.  Ten Commandments

In service since Moses accepted them from God. Since God does not exist, the commandments are a hoax. Anyway, they are too old and tired to be of value anymore.

7. GOD

The concept of an eternal being is too radical to believe by some educated minds, therefore all references to God must be eliminated from government and places of education.

8.  Capitalism

The system is the root of all evil, and a deterrent to making all men equal.

9.  Personal Responsibility

The idea that we should depend on our own ability, and energy to survive is a notion that is incomprehensible. Our personal responsibility is delegated to  the government.

10.  Work

Why?

11.  Profit

A dirty word used by capitalists. Profit must be redistributed to the worker. 

12.  Wealth

A radical right wing concept which must be stamped out. All personal wealth must be redistributed.

13. Democracy

How can a dictator survive in a two party system?

14.  Freedom of speech, First Amendment Right

Criticism of the government is totally out of place. Why should we have the freedom to express facts, ideas, beliefs, or opinions that may expose corruption, and oppose the government?

15.  Taxation with Representation

How can the government survive if they have to legislate laws to tax us? Senators and Congressmen do not represent us anymore, they are in government to make a living for themselves, and to re-distribute the profits and wealth of others as they see fit.

16. Strong Defense;

What are we afraid of? The world is made up of peace loving people and governments

 17.  Three Branches of Government

Just listen to the Dictator.

18. Private Sector Jobs

Who needs them? Everybody is taken care of by the government.

“New Socialism” a Radical Idea

National Representative Selection ComputerThe more I think about socialism, the more I realize how far away from “living” socialism the proponents are.  As I understand socialism, we are all to be equalized so we all have the same opportunities. I clipped a segment out of the Wikipedia Dictionary defining socialism for you to read here:

“Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital, creates an unequal society, and does not provide equal opportunities for everyone in society. Therefore socialists advocate the creation of a society in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly based on the amount of work expended in production, although there is considerable disagreement among socialists over how, and to what extent this could be achieved.”

I see a hypocrisy in both the “power and wealth” part of their dictates.  If  those who move us toward socialism, were truly living the philosophy to the spirit of the ideology, they would have the same  power and wealth as the rest of us. That is not the case. The Chicago Tribune had an article today(http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/obama/chi-white-house-wealthapr09,0,1573304.story)  exposing the salaries and personal fortunes of Obama’s advisers. I won’t go into it deeply, but David Axlerod made one and a half million dollars of salary last year. I’m sure that is more money than you will earn in a lifetime much less a year.  In my book, that is not showing good example for the rest of us to follow the path toward equalism.  They should all be making the same mediocre salary that the rest of us make.

The same holds true for power also. If power was to be equalized, all of us could be president without spending seven hundred and fifty million dollars to win an election. Where is the equality in that? Most of us cannot afford a new car much less run a campaign.

I have a new idea for POTUS. He likes new untried ideas, that is why he won’t listen to Republicans, because they have “tired old ideas that don’t work.”

In the interest of moving toward socialism, as POTUS is doing, we must do something really radical. To start with let us TRASH the United States Constitution.” It has too many rules on elections that have failed to produce representatives who listen to their constituents. Instead, we must replace the election system with a National Representative Lottery.  It’s a simple idea, and most simple ideas work pretty good. Everyone who is born in this country is registered at birth, and when he reaches age, his name is activated in the lottery. When it is time to change representatives, names are drawn for each open position. This system works best if there are term limits attached to each position. The same system is used for selecting candidates to serve in the Armed Services.

Think of the money that will be saved. A candidate such as Obama will not have to solicit and spend 750 million dollars to reach his goal. In fact, since we are all equal under this “New Socialist System,” there won’t be any goals to stretch for. We won’t have differences in intelligence either. After all, we all get the same mediocre equal education, and receive the same equally mediocre grades.  Since each and every representative is equal to every other representative, there will be no need to debate or argue about bills. The result would be even more savings as Representative staffs are no longer required.  Lobbyists disappear too because Lottery selected Representatives don’t want money to go into a campaign fund. That is because under  “New Socialism,” campaign  funds are considered the same as a bonus,  and taxed 100 percent.  A Representative found to accept a bribe or a  gift from a lobbyist is hanged in the Capitol Rotunda without a speedy trial.

We all save time because we don’t have to vote. We don’t have to listen to all the stupid negative campaign speeches either. On the day after National Representative Lottery Day, winners receive a certified letter from the Representative Lottery Computer to report for service.  No need to be sworn in since the oath to uphold the constitution is gone. Another saving comes because we don’t have all the frivolous inauguration parties and parades to put on.

Both the republican and democratic parties can be abolished, thus saving millions of dollars in salaries and wasted effort. Campaigns are a thing of the past. The computer solves all of the problems of the vote counting by selecting leaders randomly, and quickly.

All these savings mean there is more money in the pot to spread the wealth. Hell, we could get so wealthy that the word “poor” will be erased from the Wikipedia library.

I keep hearing about how all the socialist systems in the world  fail. “They just don’t work,” say the pundits.  The reason they fail, is that the leaders have more power than the peons.  There is a huge imbalance in the system.  The imbalance of power causes allot of dissension among peons.  We all know that dissending peons wield a lot of power. POTUS recently warned bank leaders

“Be careful how you make those statements, gentlemen. The public isn’t buying that.”

“My administration,” the president added, “is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”

In saying that, I take it to mean that he has empowered  us to take matters into our ownhands to make the dream of true equality real. 

 In Old Socialism, the leaders live like the hated “fat cats of capitalism,” while the peons  live equally. My “New Socialism,” plan eradicates that imbalance by selecting leaders totally at random by the lottery.  They all serve specific terms, thereby not becoming dictators who sit in the ivory tower for life. No one has to be educated in an Ivy League School, and no one has to be an eloquent snake oil salesman.

      ” But Grumpa,”  you ask, “the National Representative Lottery will not pick a person with experience who can go up against the leaders of the world’s evil countries?”

       “If the Lottery winner fails. we merely ask the computer to select another candidate until we find an ass kisser who  is acceptable to the rest of the world.” 

In reality, my New Socialism plan is really not new, it is a tired old idea that I’ve improved so it will work.

Have you ever heard of Barry? I’m not speaking of Barack “Barry” Obama, I speak of Barry Goldwater. Mr. Goldwater was a US Senator from Arizona in the nineteen sixties.  Goldwater was the most conservative Senator ever to be elected in the modern USA. His book “Conscience of a Conservative” was a best seller, and is considered to be the credo of the conservative political movement.

I learned of Barry Goldwater from a colleague at my first job out of college. My friend was also a recent college grad. He had become a staunch conservative after reading Senator Goldwater’s book. We spoke often of the Constitution and the principles of conservatism; love of God and country, small government, low taxes. We spoke of  the vision the founding fathers had for this new country. They had had it with a dictator king, and the unfair taxes imposed upon them. They were tired of the King deciding what was good for his subjects, and how to worship.  They wanted liberty to determine the course of their own lives. The idea of the king deciding for them was an atrocious concept.

The new citizens coming to the soil of North America were from many countries. They were immigrants. They fled their homelands in search of religious freedom. They came from England, Holland, France, Spain, and Germany. All across europe the citizens were unhappy with the way the kings ruled, and kept their subjects in abject poverty, while the aristocracy became fat.  The only way out was to revolt, or to leave. Many revolted, others left. The ones that left formed the greatest country in the world. The ones that revolted, suffered at the expense of the kings. Eventually, European countries backed away from monarchial rule and formed governments ruled by the people. Many kept thier monarchies as figure heads of the past.

One of the largest revolutions occurred in Russia. Lenin and Stalin imposed an even greater evil upon the people in the form of socialism. Yes, they forced the country from a monarchy into collective socialism.  They made it happen by slaughtering millions of good Russian people. Along came another great idealist. His name was Hitler. He decided that the people of Germany needed a change. The German people were sick of being ruled by the Kaiser. Hitler wanted the people to have socialism. He wanted it so much that he went to war over it. He wanted to convert all of Europe to his style of socialism, even Russia.

By this time the little country formed by immigrants from all of these countries had to step in and stop the mayhem. It was called World War Two. The USA, founded on the principles of a belief in God, and Liberty, had to become the salvation of the western world. The USA beat Hitler at a huge cost of blood and lives. Instead of challenging Russia, we made them allies in order to defeat Hitler.  Eventually, Ronald Reagan beat communism in the nineteen eighties. The great Soviet Union went broke trying to convert the world to socialism at the expense of their people.

Now we have a new “Barry.” He is Barack “Barry” Obama. This man should know better having been educated in the best schools in the USA. Like Lenin, Stalin, and Hitler, he too espouses the concept of “socialism.” He hasn’t learned from history that socialism,  and a welfare state is a failure. Instead, he insists on changing our great country into a socialist state as fast as he can.  He has used the economic meltdown as a shield to force congress to pass legislation that will create  government so huge it will self destruct.

 It may be my warped mind, but all I  can think is that the subjects of  history, and political science are being slanted  by socialist leaning liberal college tenures. In the fifty years since Barry Goldwater wrote his conservative credo, our scholastic instituions have created several generations socialist leaning  people. At the same time, our government, in all of its benevolence, has done an outstanding job of creating a population of uneducated welfare recipients.

The result is that Barry Obama is leading the citizenry of the USA,  with an army of socialist college grads, and welfare dependents toward atheism, and total  government subjugation under the manifesto of “Change We Can Believe In.”.

When will we wake up and understand that we are being led down the path toward a new era of modern slavery?

Write Me In For President

 I just received an e-mail  with the following article authored by one Charlie Reese. I could not find him on Snopes, so I don’t know for sure if it is his. The piece does make sense, however. The sender added his comments at the end with his recommendations. My own thoughts are posted after the recomendations.

Have you ever wondered , if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, why do we have deficits?

 

 
 

 

 

 

Have you ever wondered , if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, why do we have inflation and high taxes?

 

 
 

 

 

 

You and I don’t propose a federal budget.   The president does.

 

 
 

 

 

 

You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations.   The House of Representatives does.

 

 
 

 

 

 

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.

 

 
 

 

 

 

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.

 

 
 

 

 

 

You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

 

 
 

 

 

 

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices  545 human beings out of the 300 million  are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

 

 
 

 

 

 

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress.   In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

 

 
 

 

 

 

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason.   They have no legal authority.   They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing.   I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.   The politician has the power to accept or reject it.   No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

 

 
 

 

 

 

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault.   They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall.   No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.   The president can only propose a budget.   He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

 

 
 

 

 

 

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.  Who is the speaker of the House?   She is the leader of the majority party.   She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want.   If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

 

 
 

 

 

 

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility.   I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.   When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.

 

 
 

 

 

 

If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red.

 

 
 

 

 

 

If the Marines are in IRAQ , it’s because they want them in IRAQ .

 

 
 

 

 

 

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

 

 
 

 

 

 

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.  Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

 

 
 

 

 

 

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses  provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

 

 
 

 

 

 

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

The e-mailer’s recommendations

What you do with this article now that you have read it is up to you, though you appear to have several choices.

1.     You can send this to everyone in your address book, and hope they do something about it.

2.     You can agree to vote against everyone that is currently in office, knowing that the process will take several years.

3.     You can decide to run for office yourself and agree to do the job properly.

4.     Lastly, you can sit back and do nothing, or re-elect the current bunch.

 Grumpa Joe’s Add:

I agree with the Reese essay on the problem in Washington. I also agree with the e-mailer’s recommendations for what to do about it. I have one reservation, however, each one of these people can be voted out, but how do we know that his replacement won’t be even worse? It seems to me that we all tend to vote for the lesser of two evils. If we the voter can determine who the most honest, ethical candidate is, then we could vote the present evil out.

    We have to demand that these guys make laws that allow us to fire them. If they fail to maintain fiscal responsibility, their paychecks should be used to make up the difference. They have to write laws that will require them to give a complete declaration of all personal income, and taxes paid. They have to begin living by a code of ethics that will make us trust them again, as we did in 1776. Only then can we vote them out, and expect to see “change” for the better.
    Recently, Governor Rod Blagoyavich (Democrat-Illinois) vetoed an ethics bill. His reason was “it didn’t go far enough.” I’m sure, had he signed it, as lame as it might have been, he would have been on his way to jail just a few weeks later. If these guys don’t start somewhere, how will anything better ever come about.
    I would be happy to run for office as a matter of civic duty. I would serve one term, and then go home. It should be that way. That means we need another law that limits a person from making public service in the congress or senate into a career. Vote ’em in, have ’em get it done, and send ’em home.
    Here is something else to think about. Make it illegal to use private (your own or another’s) money for campaigning. Give everyone who wants to run, a fixed dollar amount from the public coffers to campagin. Let the candidate decide how creative he can be with this money to get elected. The idea of spending two hundred million dollars campaigning for a job worth two hundred thousand is insane. We all know the candidates don’t do it because of their desire to “serve.” Its more like they do it to see how much they can “steal.”
