Happy first day of Spring!

Just For Fun

Do you know who is in the operating room with your surgeon? I dare you to open this link.

I just discovered my age group!
I am a Seenager. (Senior teenager)
I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50-60 years later.
I don’t have to go to school or work
I get an allowance every month.
I have my own pad.
I don’t have a curfew.
I have a driver’s license and my own car.
I have ID that gets me into bars and the wine store.  I like the wine store best..
The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant, they aren’t scared of anything, they have been blessed to live this long, why be scared?
And I don’t have acne.
Life is Good!  Also, you will feel much more intelligent after reading this, if you are a Seenager.
Brains of older people are slow because they know so much.
People do not decline mentally with age, it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains.
Scientists believe this also makes you hard of hearing as it puts pressure on your inner ear.
Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they get there, they stand there wondering what they came for.
It is NOT a memory problem, it is nature’s way of making older people do more exercise.
I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can’t remember their names!
So, please forward this to your friends; they may be my friends, too!
Thank you

Restaurant charges white customers more than people of colour to challenge racial wealth disparity

My, my, isn’t this a fabulous idea. What would happen if I opened a restaurant which charged blacks more than whites because blacks are obese and eat more.

Could you pass this test?

The amount of guilt I feel over being born white can not be calculated.

Nope I was born to white parents who had two kids and we lived in the same home until I and then my sister moved away to go to college.

The owner, an obvious racist gets away with not being sued by making it optional.

I’m proud of my white heritage and it’s time for those born black to become just as proud  of theirs.

A restaurant in New Orleans is hoping to raise awareness of racial wealth differences in the country by charging white customers more.

SAARTJ is a pop-up restaurant in the Louisiana city run by local Nigerian chef Tunde Wey who will be charging white customers $18 (£13) extra for their meal.

Much like the cafe in Melbourne, Australia which charged a ‘man-tax’

Season of Surprise

Bravo, Bravo, I stand and applaud! You provided an excellent essay and challenge to all of us, but especially to those who believe government is the answer to everything

‘Tis the season to be merry?

Maybe. Maybe not.

But ‘tis certainly looking like the season to be surprised.

Once again.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has set the ball rolling by predicting that large parts of the country will reel under temperatures higher than normal and that the seasonal average temperature is set to be higher than normal by over 1 degree Celsius.

We are surprised.

After years of rapid development, with millions of fossil fuel burning cars added to the roads, agricultural and forest lands being consumed to build wider and wider roads in an effort to get those cars moving and so that the common man feels like he is living anywhere but in India, building shiny new energy-guzzling highrises, putting many water bodies out of the misery of their daily struggle for survival, transporting food and water from greater and greater distances, we are surprised.

Richard Clowan & Frances Fox Piven

Back in the nineteen sixties a couple of sociology teachers Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven came up with a theory that would eliminate poverty. It became known as the Cloward-Piven strategy. They concluded that the people of the United States underutilized the many social programs set up by the government. They figured that if the welfare systems became overloaded with lawful claims that the government would go broke and ultimately install an equal annual salary system for everyone. Equality for all is a very strong socialistic concept, yet, the Cloward-Piven strategy is still very strong among Democrats. The latest President to operate on that concept is Obama. He never told us what his intentions were except to say he would “transform” the country, but there is strong evidence that he pushed us in the direction of bankruptcy.

I remember once during Obama’s campaign a reporter chasing after the Reverend Wright asking him what he thought Obama was going to do. In effect Wright’s response was “he’s gonna help an awful lot of poor people.”

What makes me think O was applying the Cloward-Piven strategy? Let me list a few ways:

  1. He inherited one of the worst economies ever, yet did very little to get it started again except to ask Congress for a trillion dollars to invest in “shovel ready jobs.’ We all knew he was lying through is pearly whites, and much later he admitted that there was no such thing as a shovel ready job. The extreme recession caused millions of people to collect unemployment and eventually they went on welfare.
  2. When the economy settled in to its dismal level and people gave up looking for jobs, he pushed the use of dis-ability as a way to keep them in dollars.
  3. He promoted the use of food stamps, and offered free phones to people who couldn’t afford them. The bill kept rising.
  4. Obama unlawfully disregarded the immigration laws and allowed a flood of people to enter the country without meeting any of the lawful requirements. We actually advertised in Central American countries that the gates were open. What happened was a flood of immigrants which we couldn’t handle at the borders, so he improvised ways to get them into the interior. The Feds packed plane loads of illegals and shipped them to cities around the country. None of them had a pot to pee in so they were shown the way to the government office to apply for benefits.
  5. Kids who came over the border without an adult were suddenly flooding the offices. They also needed help, and it was set up for them. Kids have to go to school but none of them could speak our language so we provided schools with teachers who spoke their language. The numbers on the cash register were really spinning by this time.
  6. Even with all the people not working on unemployment, welfare, and disability in combination with the flood of new people allowed in illegally he wasn’t able to break the bank. So what did he do?
  7. Suddenly, there were wars in the Mid-east and millions of people were displaced from their homes and needed places to go. Obama accepted millions of refugees and imported them into the interior of the US at night into towns all around the country. Yep, all of them were provided with housing, and benefits from good old Uncle Sam’s cash register.

With all this drain on our economy why didn’t we go bankrupt? It didn’t happen because of several reasons. The first one is that Uncle uses a printing press to make money when he runs short. The depression cause interest rates to drop to zero and that gave him the ability to borrow from countries like China, and Japan for free. It won’t be long before those interest rates on the borrowed money will rise and we will have to pay most of our income to interest. Another reason for not going broke was because of you, the working stiff. You were paying a couple of different ways. The first was through rising taxes, local, state and federal. A second way was happening in a very sneaky way and you didn’t realize it was happening to you. The cost of stuff was rising. The milk you buy didn’t get more valuable but it cost more. Try buying a pound of hamburger. Everything we buy was rising in price. Why? It had nothing to do with the value or the demand of the stuff you were buying it has to do with the fact that the value of your money has decreased. With all of the printed money going to pay off loans and to pay for all the welfare it drove down the value of a dollar. The five dollar bill is the new single, and a twenty is the new fiver.

I am on a fixed income and I have noticed the drain on my finances every time I go to the grocery store. A few years ago I spent seventy dollars for groceries and now I wind up paying three times that for the same amount of food. Thank God we are a very rich nation and were able to sustain ourselves as this drain goes on. I don’t think it would have been another year before we finally went bankrupt.

Think about it folks. How would you like to make what everyone else in the country is making? Sure the government would guarantee that you got the same amount every month, but I don’t think you’d be getting enough to live in the style you have become accustomed to. Think also, about the fact that you would work for your equal share and another soul will get the exact same amount for staying home. We will have to thank Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven for visualizing such an idyllic world.

The saddest part of this scenario is that Bernie Sanders ran against Hillary in the 2016 election  primary and his popularity was based on him selling the youth of this country on the concept of equal annual income for everyone.

A Lovely Afternoon With My Daughter

This afternoon I got to spend time with my daughter. We had lunch in downtown Joliet at the Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts Center. My grandson, (her son) was part of the staff in the kitchen. Joey, is in his final semester in the Culinary Arts curriculum. His station today was sandwiches. The school did an amazing job of designing a kitchen-restaurant for teaching kids to become chefs, and hospitality managers. Thank goodness Jacque made reservations because the place was filled to capacity. The once a week luncheon operates between 11:30 and 1:00 p.m. We arrived at noon, but it took me fifteen minutes to find a parking spot. Like most city centers Joliet is a menage of big buildings, separated by narrow streets which are laden with traffic.

After three circles around the block, I finally found a street spot a block and a half away from the restaurant. I parallel parked like a pro and we disembarked. I failed to notice a sign next to the spot which read “No Parking Special Event, vehicles will be towed,” oops! I told Jacque to wait there for me and I would go to the garage a block further up the street.

The garage was five floors high and had exits on three sides, with only one entrance on the west side. Of course I had to drive around the building to find that one entrance. I turned in to see a sign Hotel Parking. Joliet s a famous casino town and this garage was next to the casino. There was no gate nor a ticket vendor at the entrance. I found a spot of the second floor, and parked. I met Jacque and we walked back to the restaurant.

The lunch menu was great. We had a Thai egg roll for appetizer and she had a tomato, bean soup that resembled chili. There was a bread basket on the table with an assortment of home-made dinner rolls, and a plate of specially flavored butters. I sampled them all. Three of the four butters were very tasty, and one was bland. The rolls were excellent and fresh-baked. For my entre I ordered a bacon, cheese topped packed pork wrap. It was excellent. Jacque ordered a monster hamburger which she could only eat a small part of. A gob of very salty french fries sided each sandwich with a small cup of special catsup.   We brought most of it home. For dessert we ordered a chocolate mouse topped custard pie served with dabs of lemon, lemon sorbet, a dollop of whipped cream, and a small portion of orange marmalade. Wow! We did finish that.

The entire restaurant is a teaching laboratory, Waitresses took orders on a tablet connected wirelessly to the kitchen. Each chef received his work load electronically and the time to table measured as a metric of performance. The wait staff was measured on the time it took them to get to the table, then the time it took to take our order, and finally on the time between what it took the chef to finish an order to the time the order made it to the table. I thought, my God why would a person want to go to college to be a waitress? I quizzed our waitress, she was really attending the school in the curriculum of Hospitality Management, and was required to spend one semester working the restaurant for lunch. She went to school three days a week and worked three different jobs the remaining four days.  She is a typical energetic college kid.

Jacque and I sauntered back to the car crossing a couple of streets which had walk signs. We were waiting for the red hand to turn so we could cross safely.  “You know Jacque, the liberals of our country have overlooked a very racist government controlled feature of our transportation system.”

“Look at us, we are waiting for the little white man to let us know it is safe to cross.”

“Da-ad, what do you expect them to do?”

The libs are always poking us about white privilege and how whites reign supreme over all other colors of people but they overlooked the most racist symbol of control over people, the little white man who allows us to cross a street. It is never a little black man, nor a yellow man, he is always white. He lords over all races, and the libs don’t say a word about it. Instead they demolish hundred year old statues, and confederate flags as racist symbols while completely overlooking the millions of these walk signs around the entire country. She changed the subject and I was glad she did.

Mosey sign on crossing.
