How Is This Different?

A few months ago when a huge caravan of mid-easterners marched into Europe and occupied Germany and Sweden we were all dumbfounded. The European lack of action appeared as though Europe was caught sleeping. In fact, Europe welcomed the invaders. Europe needs people to shore up its dwindling population. It is a well-known fact that the USA is in the same dilemma, but has been saved by the child producing Hispanics invading from the south.

White people in America avoid having kids by two means; birth control and abortion. We are so good at preventing birth that our white birthrate (1.8 kids per woman) is much like that of Europe (1.3). In order to continue the race there needs to be 2.1 babies born per woman.White Privilege, a term we hear so much these days should be relabeled White Stupidity because we have controlled our birth rate toward extinction.

People are so worried about global warming melting Antarctica and flooding the Continents, but they ignore population decline as a more realistic way to end Earth. Fewer people means less pollution and less global warming (This is a stupid argument because man-made global warming is a myth). What good will Earth be if there are no people?

To me the caravan coming to America, which has grown from less than two hundred beginning in Honduras and growing to fourteen thousand as they progress, will end badly. Given Republican proclivity to follow our laws this invasion will cause an overload of resources at the border. The laws are specific on how long migrants of this category can be detained. After reaching the limit, the people will be allowed to find their way into the general population. It will be Obama migration all over again. In the meantime, Our Congress will debate, argue and ignore changing the laws to make sense.

The only recourse the President has is to keep them from crossing into the USA. As long as they are outside they are not under our laws.

The USA allows one million people to immigrate every year. There are approximately 200 countries in the world. If we were to spread immigration equally across the world (not possible) 5000 people are allowed to migrate legally from each country. Given that Central Americans don’t believe in borders, quotas, or US laws this jolly parade of invaders will have used up the permitted average immigration level of three countries in one day. Central America has seven countries, Belize, Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. Surprise to me Mexico is part of North America. The biggest mistake the USA made was when they stopped short of taking all of Mexico during the Mexican war.

This whole immigration thing is pretty stupid. The people of the USA do not dislike immigrants but we hate illegal immigration. All Congress has to do is change the law to permit people to enter legally without hundreds of loop holes like the current law has. An open border is another thing we dislike, We feel we should be in control of our country not the invading migrants.

The USA is a great place to live, but if we allow an uncontrolled mass of new people from two hundred countries to descend upon us quickly,  the assimilation will be horrible, and the accompanying problems insurmountable. We are a melting pot, but as with anything that melts it takes time for it to happen. Some materials melt quicker than others, and some very slowly. Some have higher melting points and therefore require a large expense of energy and time to melt totally. Migrant assimilation is not much different from melting solids. It is best if we correct the problems of the countries from which they migrate so they will want to stay rather than deal with so many problems.

One idea to help these countries is to franchise the USA. Allow countries to establish USA franchises, and send all of our brightest to govern the countries from which people flee. Yep, make the USA like Mac Donald’s. Charge an initial fee then install a USA national crew to run the franchise. These USA franchises could become model political machines within countries. All of them spreading the solid principles of our Constitution into the home country. Each franchise will be a total self-contained unit set up and ready to convert the home country into a livable place. That folks is my recommendation and I’m sticking to it. The idea is just crazy enough to work.

Open Borders?

What is an open border? Just what does that term mean? I just compared the area of Europe to the United States, and Europe is just slightly larger in area than the USA.

(United States is 9,833,000 square kilometers while Europe is 10,180,000 square kilometers—however, European countries are closer in size to eastern states in America (which are smaller and closer together than western states).

A few years ago, in the 1990’s my wife Barb and I took a trip to Europe and toured Prague, Salzburg, Munich, and Frankfurt. Prague was still in the Soviet Union and when we crossed into Austria we had a border stop. Our tour bus waited in line as the Austrian border guards check passports and visas. Most countries in Europe are small like our Eastern states. When a European travelled from Germany to England for instance he might have to cross two or three borders. Each time he would be stopped to check his credentials. Imagine a United States where every state had a closed border (Every state does have a border and each State respects the boundaries.), and we had to carry passports and get Visa’s to visit our relatives in  another part of the country. I think we would be very upset.

By the year two thousand Europe opened it’s borders so people could move freely from country to country without hesitation. That was a major improvement for Europeans. In other words open-borders made Europe more like the United States.

Here we sit in 2018 with the Democrats using open borders as their policy to make America great. Except, this time opening our last borders with Mexico and Canada would be a huge mistake.  Until we revise our immigration laws to make coming here easier we must keep the borders closed. The revised law must allow us to track everyone who enters. The Mexican border is the only one that is so wide open. The Canadian border is open also but about half of it is an impassable water hazard called the Saint Lawrence river, and the Great Lakes.

The population of Canada is 35 million of which 5% (1.75 million) live in poverty. The population of Central and South America is 472.5 million of which 16.5% (77.5 million) live in poverty. The likelihood of illegal immigration is greater from the Mexican border than it is from the north. In addition, Canada has some safety-net policies to take care of those in need. People want to leave Central and South America because of poverty, oppressive regimes, and socialism.

If someone comes from Asia or Europe by plane they must pass through immigration at the airport. We can track them and check them, but when someone is allowed to walk into the country at will, how do we know who they are, why they have come, and what their intentions are when they get here? We have to create a new Ellis Island type of entry that will vet entrants coming from the south. My parents entered via Ellis Island and were properly vetted before being allowed to enter. A lot of migrants were returned (deported) back to Europe for various reasons. Many of them because they carried a disease we didn’t want to deal with. Today, we allow people with terrible contagious diseases to come including the Ebola virus. We will never know what the migrants from the south bring in.

At this moment in history our country is booming economically. We need workers. They will most likely have to come from Central and South America, Africa, and the Mid-East. If we do this properly we will give ourselves enough time to allow them to assimilate more gradually than a mass arrival would. What good would seven million new people who can’t speak the language, or know the rules, drive, read write, etc. do to fill the seven million job vacancies we have. Business is business and they would fill the jobs, but at whose expense? Ours. Poor service, lousy products, crazy demands for working conditions (prayer breaks five times a day in special prayer rooms), squat toilets, the list can go on for ever.

What kind of argument is there to support open-borders except to destroy the sovereignty of the USA.? Mexico surely wants to reacquire land ceded to the USA by treaty during the Mexican-American war. It is my opinion that Mexicans who want the land back don’t want to pay us for it, but are at war with us and violate the treaty signed between countries. Other than that, I see not one valid argument for wanting an open border with Mexico. 

I do understand that socialists are so desirous of bringing their utopian misery to the United States they want to drive the U.S. into bankruptcy to do it. They follow the Cloward-Piven theorem, that using the welfare laws and policies of a country to overload the social systems, the country can be bankrupted and taken over by a dictator. So anti-American liberal factions encourage millions of poor people (living on $4.50/day) to enter under the premise of finding a better life. I don’t think it would take much more to overload the welfare, healthcare, and educational systems. We have seen the cost of illegal immigration rise to tens of billions of dollars in the recent years.

It is simple folks, we don’t want open borders, we don’t want socialism, we don’t want communism, or any other failed ideology to take away our liberties. If that were to happen we will see a reverse flow of immigrants wanting to leave the country.

I see only one route to take and that is to defend to the death our current liberties and borders.

Shaking My Bucket

My stories don’t generally cover my personal activities, but do include brief examples of life lessons. Today I awoke at six, a full half hour before the opportunity alarm sounded. The temperature in the house was down to sixty-eight degrees, the lowest since last winter. Outside, the first frost of autumn displayed a soft white glaze over the lawn.

I shuffled down to my personal bath in the basement and shaved a four day beard. My appearance today had to be sharp and clean. It was show time for my Lions Club. Candy Day 2018 is a very important fundraiser for Lions Illinois Foundation. Basically, we (Lions) stand at intersections and at storefronts shaking our buckets. Our buckets are empty one gallon plastic milk jugs with a hole cut into the side. We paste a Lions Candy Day label on the side to cover the dairy label. As we say we shake our cans looking as pathetic as we can asking the public for money. 

My station this morning was at the local Dunkin-Donuts shop. I asked our event leader where I should stand. He said, “Oh just hang around the front door.” This was my first experience standing in front of a store shaking my can. In previous years I stood in an intersection at the Burger King. That was an adrenaline producing work out because with traffic coming at me from three directions it kept me moving out of the way. The worst was dodging a semi-truck delivering to one of the stores in the plaza. They need a lot of room to make a turn and the trailer typically cuts across the spot where I usually stood. 

Within two minutes of covering the front door I saw where I should be standing. The drive by takeout window had a line of cars six long. I went there and stood in one place. A very dour group of drivers lowered their windows to reach out with a dollar or with a handful of change scrounged from the console. In return I handed each of them a roll of mints, hence the name Candy Day.

The Lions Illinois Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization and a means used by Illinois Lions Clubs to provide statewide services for the visually and hearing impaired.

It was founded July 1, 1974, is registered with the Office of Illinois Attorney General, and qualifies 501c# tax-exempt organization.

All programs are approved by Lions at the annual membership meeting in May. The Foundation is governed by Elected trustees from each district.

The Lions Of Illinois Foundation is devoted to the highest Lions ideals of service to those with vision or hearing impairments.

Through the Foundation, communities and clubs benefit from these services:

  • Camp Lions for Children and Adults
  • Adult Low Vision
  • Lions of Illinois Statewide Student Low Vision Valuation Clinics
  • Mobile Retinal Screening Unit
  • Mobile Hearing Screening Unit
  • Used Hearing Aid Bank
  • Recycling: Used Eyeglasses, Hearing Aids, Keys, Cell Phones, wire and Aluminum tabs
  • Social Services and Referral
  • Lions of Illinois Funds for Emergencies (L.I.F.E.)

It is funded mainly by club contributions from Candy Day, Sight and Sound Sweepstakes, Tootsie Pop Day, Gift Card Campaign, Annual Gala, Car Show and BBQ.

The Foundation led a campaign to raise $5 million to finance construction of the Lions of Illinois Eye Research Institute (L.I.E.R.I.) in Chicago, as well as the campaign to raise $1.1 million to finance the Charles I. Young Professional Chair.

The above explains why I stood in drive-through window at Dunkin-Donuts on the morn of the first freeze to shake my can in an attempt to help my club support L.I.F.

Several kinds of people came across my path:

1. Non-smiling, sleepy looking, caffeine deprived early morning risers who slowly groped about the car seeking change, but eventually opened a wallet to pull a dollar bill or two. Even though they didn’t look at me smilingly they cheered up when I told them to have a “great day.”

2. Smiling, cheerful, eagerly rolling down the window to load my can with paper money or a handful of change. They thanked me and accepted the mints with a broad smile.

3. The drive-by, usually with black windows who couldn’t be identified, and impossible to make eye contact with. I waved and wished them a good morning anyway.

4. Smiling, cheerful, eagerly rolling down the window to tell me that he doesn’t carry cash.  I tell him next time I will have a credit card machine. He laughs as I tell him to have a wonderful day/

After an hour and forty-five minutes my bones were chilled and aching. My shaken bucket was full so I gave it up for the day.

We Are in a Civil War

When Obama was President, I predicted in one of my blogposts that we were headed for a civil war. Sadly, my prediction has become a reality. The country is no longer able to compromise or debate in a civil  manner. We saw the most recent confirmation hearing of a  new Supreme Court justice as an example of how un-civil we have become. Our last and hopefully only shooting civil war was ugly, and deadly. It should have taught us that an internal conflict is better determined off the battlefield. Perhaps we should create a box out of bullet proof glass and put robots inside. Two of them, one grey and one blue. The rest of us sit and watch as the robots battle to death. The winner’s political ideology rules until the next election after which we redefine the outcome with a robot match. The essay below is one that I posted once before. The author, has made a very logical argument that we are currently in a civil war. His thesis is so true to date that it cannot be refuted.
A speech delivered by Daniel Greenfield (a conservative author whose work can be found in publications such as FrontPageMag.com) at the South Carolina Tea Party Coalition Convention in January 2018: How do civil wars happen? Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can’t settle the question through elections because they don’t even agree that elections are how you decide who’s in charge.  That’s the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country.  When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war. The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from office and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it’s not the first time they’ve done this. The first time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn’t really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There’s a pattern here. What do sure odds of the Democrats rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don’t accept the results of any election that they don’t win. It means they don’t believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections.  That’s a civil war. There’s no shooting. At least not unless you count the attempt to kill a bunch of Republicans at a charity baseball game practice. But the Democrats have rejected our system of government. This isn’t dissent. It’s not disagreement. You can hate the other party. You can think they’re the worst thing that ever happened to the country. But then you work harder to win the next election When you consistently reject the results of elections that you don’t win, what you want is a dictatorship. Your very own dictatorship. The only legitimate exercise of power in this country, according to Democrats, is its own. Whenever Republicans exercise power, it’s inherently illegitimate. The Democrats lost Congress. They lost the White House. So what did they do? They began trying to run the country through Federal judges and bureaucrats. Every time that a Federal judge issues an order saying that the President of the United States can’t scratch his own back without his say so, that’s the civil war. Our system of government is based on the constitution, but that’s not the system that runs this country. The Democrat’s system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country. If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything. And I mean anything. He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens. He can fine you for not having health insurance. His power is unlimited. He’s a dictator. But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can’t do anything. He isn’t even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented. A Democrat in the White House has ‘discretion’ to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn’t even have the ‘discretion’ to reverse him. That’s how the game is played That’s how our country is run. Sad but true, although the left hasn’t yet won that particular fight. When a Democrat is in the White House, states aren’t even allowed to enforce immigration law. But when a Republican is in the White House, states can create their own immigration laws. Under Obama, a state wasn’t allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission But under Trump, Jerry Brown can go around saying that California is an independent republic and sign treaties with other countries. The Constitution has something to say about that. Whether it’s Federal or State, Executive, Legislative or Judiciary, the left moves power around to run the country. If it controls an institution, then that institution is suddenly the supreme power in the land. This is what I call a moving dictatorship. Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding: Professional government is a guild. Like medieval guilds You can’t serve in if you’re not a member. If you haven’t been indoctrinated into its arcane rituals. If you aren’t in the club. And Trump isn’t in the club. He brought in a bunch of people who aren’t in the club with him. Now we’re seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them. They spy on them, they investigate them and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down. That’s not a free country. It’s not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an ‘insurance policy’ against Trump winning the election. It’s not a free country when Obama officials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It’s not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him from social media. It’s not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who wasn’t supposed to win did. Have no doubt, we’re in a civil war between conservative volunteer government and a leftist Democrat professional government.

Political Torture

A few short years ago our Congress went through a terrible examination of conscience. The Islamic world attacked the United States by flying airplanes into the two towers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. The event crippled the country. Air Space was shut down and if you were in the air at the time your pilot was commanded to land at the nearest airport and you were stuck there wherever it was. When the towers came down over three thousand people lost their lives. We were attacked on our turf, and we didn’t like it. President Bush vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice at all cost. The name Osama Bin Laden came to the forefront of news. Eventually we attacked Afghanistan the training grounds for bin Laden’s Al Qaeda terrorist group. It took many years to finally catch bin Laden, but to President Obama’s credit he finally got the job done. During the search for Osama a new term became front page news. An uprising by the liberals arose about water-boarding, a technique used to extract information from people. Democrats came to the rescue and took up the liberal lament that water-boarding is torture. Republicans argued that water-boarding was not torture, but the Democrats held the line it was torture. Even the late Senator John Mc Cain who experienced real torture while a POW in a Viet Nam prison camp for six years commented torture is torture. Democrats argued that the use of torture is not right, and we should not use any form of it ever. How short their memory is. This past week I witnessed torture at it’s worst, or best, depending on how you look at torture as a way to treat an enemy. The confirmation hearings for Judge Brett Kavanaugh was pure and simple torture. Maybe we should call it political torture, but torture is torture. He was demeaned, accused, of sexually assaulting a girl while they were both teen agers. The liberals expanded the accusations to rape, gang-rape, pedophilia, and all acts of perversion without any regard for the feelings of the man or his family. They disregarded his rights to due process and made him guilty until proven innocent, and then prohibited him or the Senate Committee from challenging the accuser who was a woman. God forbid a lady might have motives other than honorable, and the torturers insisted she be treated as a lady. The saddest part of this form of torture is that the judge had to sit there and take it like a man as Senator after Senator chided him and guilted him into agreeing to something he did not do. Finally, after a short break he returned and asked to speak. He defended himself honorably, but also emotionally. He lost his composure and had to stop because of tears, he was so broken emotionally that he cried. What made this display of emotion even sadder was when the liberals continued to pour acid on his open wounds by declaring his show of  emotions was unbefitting the character of a judge. What a bunch of sadistic bastards they are.

Why has Kavanaugh persisted? Lessor men would have just thrown in the towel and said “take your job and shove it.” Yet, the judge insisted on remaining in the battle. He knew it was going to be rough, so why? It is my opinion that he loves our country and the Constitution. He recognizes the socialist strategy to pack the court with liberals that will support liberal laws like Obamacare or worse yet legislate from the bench like Chief Justice Roberts did with Obamacare. Judge Kavanaugh is wise enough to know that the Founder’s presented us with a set of rules by which to rule. The rules have stood the test of time and the libs know it. The only way they can socialize this country is by destroying the Constitution and the rule of law. Theodore Roosevelt tried doing that during the depression years; thankfully he failed.

Judge Kavanaugh is strong willed and can withstand being roped on to the rack to get stretched to the limits of his joints. Libs sadistically smile and enjoy watching his pain as they turn the wheel of the rack and pull him apart. If ever there was a sick bunch of political torturers it is the Democrat Senate of 2018. Going back to the point I began with, that is, waterboarding. How was the political torture of Kavanaugh any different than waterboarding radical Islamist terrorists to extract confessions that would lead to defeating Al Qaeda? For one thing waterboarding was done to the foreign enemy who came to our shores for the purpose of destroying us. In political torture our own people do what ever is necessary to gain power that will lead to the destruction of the USA. Liberals do this without regard to the victims they use. I am much more in favor of waterboarding the real enemy than using political torture to defeat America from within.
