We the Stupid

Thank you Rich for sending these facts. As a young boy, I remember my grandfather who was born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire telling me stories about the Turks invading Europe. They over took Budapest and occupied Eastern Europe for hundreds of years before they were beaten and driven out.

We the stupid, historical facts

WE, THE STUPID
> The war started in the 7th century and lasted through the 17th century. I would contend it never stopped but historically the facts below are correct.
> This is why I choke when I hear someone say we will defeat or contain these Islamic terrorists in a few years or even 30 years as recently stated by Leon Panetta.
> If the latest batch of murders, beheadings, and killing of innocent Christians has shocked you, maybe you should read this compilation of historical facts about Muslims.
> This is all factually (and historically) correct and verifiable:
> In 732 A.D., the Muslim
> Army, which was moving on Paris, was defeated and turned back at Tours, France, by Charles Martell. (Charlemagne)
> In 1571 A.D., the Muslim Army/Navy was defeated by the Italians and Austrians as they tried to cross the Mediterranean to attack southern Europe in the Battle of Lepanto.
> In 1683 A.D., the Turkish Muslim Army, attacking Eastern Europe, was finally defeated in the Battle of Vienna by German and Polish Christian Armies.
> This crap has been going on for 1,400 years and half of the politicians don’t even know it.
> If these battles had not been won, we might be speaking Arabic and Christianity could be non-existent; Judaism certainly would not exist.
> Reflecting:
> A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine that America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves.
> Pause a moment and reflect back.
> These events are actual events from history. They really happened!

Do you remember?:

> 1. In 1968, Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by a Muslim male.
> 2. In 1972, at the Munich Olympics, Israeli athletes were kidnapped and massacred by Muslim males.
> 3. In 1972, a PanAm 747 was hijacked and eventually diverted to Cairo where a fuse was lit on final approach. Shortly after landing it was blown up by Muslim males.
> 4. In 1973, a PanAm 707 was destroyed in Rome, with 33 people killed, when it was attacked with grenade  by Muslim males.
> 5. In 1979, the US embassy in Iran was taken over by Muslim males.
> 6. During the 1980’s a number of Americans were kidnapped in Lebanon by Muslim males.
> 7. In 1983, the US Marine barracks in Beirut was blown up by Muslim males.
> 8. In 1985, the cruise ship Achille Lauro was hijacked and a 70-year old Jewish American passenger was murdered and thrown overboard in his wheelchair by Muslim males.
> 9. In 1985, TWA flight 847 was hijacked at Athens, and a US Navy diver trying to rescue passengers was murdered by Muslim males
> 10. In 1988, PanAm Flight 103 was bombed by Muslim males.
> 11. In 1993, the World Trade Center was bombed the first time by Muslim males.
> 12. In 1998, the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by Muslim males.
> 13. On 9/11/01, four airliners were hijacked; two were used as missiles to take down the World Trade Centers and of the remaining two, one crashed into the US Pentagon and the other was diverted and crashed by the passengers. Thousands of people were killed by Muslim males.
> 14. In 2002, the United States fought a war in Afghanistan against Muslim males.
> 15. In 2002, reporter Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and beheaded by a Muslim male.
> 16. In 2013, the Boston Marathon Bombing resulted in 4 Innocent people, including a child, being killed plus 264 people injured by Muslim males.
> No Obama, I really don’t see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?
>
> So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screener’s will no longer be allowed to profile certain people.
>
> So, ask yourself “Just how stupid are we???”
>
> Absolutely No Profiling! They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of Obama’s security detail, 85-year-old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, BUT…….leave Muslim Males alone lest we be guilty of profiling.
>
> Ask yourself, “Just how stupid are we? “Have the American people completely lost their minds or just their Power of Reason???
>
> As the writer of the award winning story Forrest Gump so aptly put it, “Stupid Is As Stupid Does.”

Listening for the Language of Peace

An interesting point of view, but I am not buying into it.

Just Wondering...

Peace and IslamAs-Salaam Aliakum. So often I think we hear these words today and the hairs on the back of our necks rise as images from Paris, Syria, and Iraq flash in our minds. Is this not a Muslim greeting?!

Wa-Aliakum Salaam. I hear it shared in response while I sit in the barber’s chair at my local neighborhood men’s barber shop. Mo has cut my hair for the last 6 years and we have developed an amazing relationship. We’ve spoke about his family, his kids and there schooling, his 5-year-old son (now 8 years old) who is dealing with Leukemia. I passed along comfort and gave financially to his family while I told him of my prayers for him when he went through a massive heart attack a little over a year ago. And yes, we have deep discussions about faith, Jesus, and the stories of scripture both in the Bible…

Incoherent Ramblings

It is hard to get back in the groove of writing something everyday. Frankly, I suffer from writer’s block today. It amazes me as to how long it took me to develop a daily writing habit, and how little time it took to lose it. The best way to overcome the block is to talk about the day.

I spent a few hours in the garden wood shop today grinding wood into what I hope will look like a flower. This is the fourth project I am undertaking this fall. In previous years I settled on a single design and concentrated on making multiples so I could use them as Christmas gifts. I want to use them as gifts this year too, but each one has been hung on a wall within our humble domicile for the purpose of giving Peg and I great pleasure. Sorry, friends, no Intarsia gifts this year.

Each flower is different, and I have come to believe that these wooden flowers are a substitute for my nonexistent 2015 Monet Vision. Let me just say, I had the vision but did not have the energy to make it materialize. Perhaps the 2015 will morph into the 2016.

Physically, and emotionally I am all done in. Life has dealt me a hand which ten years ago I could only imagine, but never thought it would come. Age has crept into the mix, and my role has evolved from friend, lover, husband, to full time care giver. Some days are easier than others. People keep telling me to get help, but I am not smart enough to be able to know what it is I need in the way of assistance. I’m sure I’ll figure it out as we proceed along our current path.

In the meantime, at every chance I get, I abscond to the lower level to cut, grind, sand, and shape until I form a flower from wood. The activity takes my mind off of any problem that may have developed, and it releases the creative urge in me to make something nice.

Obama’s Foot in Mouth Disease

foot-in-mouth.thumbnail

I hope Obama likes the taste of his shoe because he really stuck his foot in his mouth. Lucky for him he has such a huge mouth he can handle his size 12 footwear. A day or so ago, it was suggested to him that we only allow Christian refugees to come to America. That was a hot poker hitting a nerve. He said, “And when I hear folks say that, well maybe we should just admit the Christians but not the Muslims, when I hear leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which person who’s fleeing from a war torn country is admitted, when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when they were fleeing political persecution, that’s shameful.” he said, his voice rising. “That’s not American. That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion.”

He was poking fire at Senator Ted Cruz with his comment, but he really He poked fire at all of America when he said that. Listen up President Obama and all of your lame brained supporters. America is a Christian nation irregardless of what you run around the world telling people. There are over 320,000 churches in the USA (mostly christian), and there are 2100 hundred mosques(that is 2100 too many in my view).

Christians are being slaughtered by the hundreds by your JV team ISIS. Who better to rescue from a war torn country than Christians who are being persecuted? Instead you would rather import the JV team recruits. Christians be damned. The Reverend Wright really taught you a lot about Christianity didn’t he.

My take is this, Christian families from across the USA would open their homes to Christian refugees. I’m not so sure they would allow a widow with her Jihadi trained toddler to sleep in their house. One never knows when the kid’s jihad trigger would activate, and kill the host in his sleep.

President Obama where is your compassion for Christians? Why do you love Muslims so much? Is it because you are one? Why do you celebrate Ramadan, but not Christmas? You profess to be a Christian so why not be proud of it?

I know, your compassion is toward the thousands of people flooding across our borders, and now to thousands of refugees coming. You can’t wait to fire up the welfare system to handle them all. That is your compassion? We have ninety million people out of work, and you want more to come looking for nonexistent jobs? Where is the logic in that?

No, President Obama, it is not we who lack compassion, it is you who keep flooding the country with people for the sake of a vote who lacks compassion. I recommend you take a walk around every large city in America. Leave the Beast and Air Force One behind. Leave your entourage of Secret Service protection at home, and walk the streets of Chicago, New York, Cleveland, or Phoenix to witness first hand the transformation you have achieved. Show the people on the streets who are homeless and hungry some of that magnificent compassion of yours, and then tell us if it is still smart to bring thousands more into the melting pot.

Trump Listens to Grumpa Joe

stock-vector-gleeful-businessman-jumping-for-joy-and-clicking-heels-in-the-air-180662108

This morning I went into shock when I heard a news report about Donald Trump’s latest plan to deal with Muslim refugees. I haven’t read or watched Trump’s statement but he purportedly said the USA should build a refugee camp for the refugees within Syria and declare it a safe haven. Now that makes sense. He added a cherry to the top by saying he would have ISIS pay for it. I love it when one of my sarcastic proposals is a popular idea.
