She Hit It Outta’ the Park

A truly great essay and a genius level analysis of our millennial generation. How can our youngsters truly know what living poor is all about? They can’t know and never will know until they get into the world and have to fend for themselves. Prosperity is their norm. Please read the attached essay by Alyssa Ahlgren

To Whom It All Concerns….
My Generation Is Blind to the Prosperity Around Us
I’m sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis trying to think of what to write about.
I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of Democratic candidates calling for policies to fix the so-called injustices of capitalism.
I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBooks, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me.
We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose.
These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don’t give them a second thought.
We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty. One. Times. Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards.
Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.
Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow.
Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, “An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.”
Never saw American prosperity!  Let that sink in.
When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I’ve ever heard in my 26 years on this earth.
Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided.
My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity.
I know this first hand, I went to college, let’s just say I didn’t have the popular opinion, but I digress.
Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity?
We have people who are dying to get into our country. People around the world destitute and truly impoverished.
Yet, we have a young generation convinced they’ve never seen prosperity, and as a result, elect politicians dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism. Why?
The answer is this, my generation has only seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn’t live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, the Korean War, The Vietnam War or see the rise and fall of socialism and communism.
We don’t know what it’s like to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones.
We don’t have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it’s spreading like a plague.”

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

When one lives in prosperity from the minute they are born, how can they understand poverty? People of my generation witnessed the struggle of our parents working to give us what they never had. My grandfather John sent my Dad to America because he “could not feed him”. My Dad left, and never looked back. He knew what poverty was.

My dad had an aversion to potatoes, and when I challenged him once on why he didn’t take any potatoes at the Sunday dinner table he told me “I ate enough potatoes in my home country.” He left when he was seventeen. In my mind that is a whole lot of potatoes to eat in seventeen short years.

As an adult, I traveled to the far east on my job. I visited some pretty poor places in Malaysia and Indonesia. I came home with one major impression. These people work for pennies per hour because they are hungry and those pennies represent more money than they have ever seen before.  In the USA we have people who protest the poor wages in these far away countries yet our poverty level salary would make the people in those countries very rich. As my mother reminded me often “we have a loaf of bread under each arm and we complain that we don’t have anything to eat.”

What socialist leaning millennials do not understand is that to bring the level of poverty up in the world will also mean reducing the wealth of our nation. So the complaint of never having seen prosperity will reverse to seeing poverty in a grossly mis-calculated backfire.

Is This the Future of America??

Trump Economy a Failure

I didn’t watch the democrat debate last night because I didn’t feel like getting sick. I saw enough on the news this morning to cause my gall bladder to kick out some serious bile. This bit featured several candidates proclaiming that the Trump economy is a failure because it only addresses the rich, poor people do not benefit.

Let me see now, as I read this they mean that the lowly people don’t get to make the same as the rich. I kind of remember that in a socialist society like the USSR, Cuba and Venezuela the lowly people all make the same as the rich right? That logic fails me. I keep hearing that the Cubans are all poor, but the rich are still rich, except there may be fewer rich people in Cuba. Why? Because the only rich people are the ones running the country, same in Venezuela. At least in the Trump economy there are more rich people because they are all working their asses off to make it. While all of the lowly poor people now have jobs and they are richer than they were under our former leader’s economy when everyone was on food stamps.

There must be a DNA link in me that keeps my feeble brain thinking that the socialist way is evil for the world. There must also be a DNA link in the socialists that cause them to believe that evil is good. Why else would so many of them preach the same wretched doctrine?

I read an article about the new homeless people in all the major cities of the USA. Many of them don’t want to live the idyllic life we normal people live. They actually want to live homeless because it gives them a degree of freedom and liberty not available to those of us who believe in sleeping in a bed. My mind immediately flashed a picture of settlers living in the old west, and homesteaders living in Alaska’s most remote areas. They love living free. A modern day homeless homesteader likes the urban environment over the natures wild best. It is easier to bum a meal on the streets when you get hungry than it is to go catch a fish, or to shoot a squirrel then have to clean it to eat it.

So here we are living in a society that is split into many factions. The socialist side wants to mind control, care for, and provide equal misery for everybody while the capitalist side wants total freedom to allow people to make money and care for themselves. No matter which faction you belong to there will be a fraction of them who are filthy rich who will lord over all the others.

However, I have never heard a socialist ever admit that the ruling class lives a better life than those whose lives he is making better. They are all kind of like Bernie Sanders who drives a posh car, has several homes, and lives rich while preaching free stuff for everyone.

Lately, I have been reading stories from countries who have adopted democratic socialism that are not sounding so beautiful. Evidently a seventy percent taxation is getting these people down, especially after taking in so many refugees and immigrants.

All I can say is that my kids and grandkids will have to deal with it. My sorry ass isn’t going to be around too much longer and I am tough enough to live through most any kind of political culture we impose upon ourselves. I am glad however, that I chose to live conservatively because that is why I can afford to do the things I do today.

Luis on TV most of the time

There is nothing like a good hurricane to bring out the best in the worst politicians on the face of earth. Hurricane Florence did that before she even hit the shore. Crooked as a snake, dirtier than dirt, slimier than a slug, Congressman Luis Gutierrez from the 4th District, Illinois has stepped up to the plate to deflect the world away from Democrat problems to blame Trump for the powerful lady Florence. I didn’t think he could stoop so low, but he has. A staunch supporter of Puerto Rican’s in Chicago, he let his true colors show several days before the hurricane hit with this statement about Trump: “He’s so consumed by the calamity in the chaos that exists, he’s not really prepared and focused, because he spends every weekend golfing, instead of preparing.”

Ahem, excuse me Luis, but your bed buddy Obama played golf five days a week and not just on weekends. Trump is also not consumed by calamity having prepped FEMA and State governments as early as possible about making preparations. Unlike your fellow Puerto Rican’s who cried bigger tears than the hurricane that swept your home island clean. We are one year away from hurricane Maria and are just discovering that your dear leaders are allowing acres of containers filled with tons of supplies go to rot in your dear homeland. When the going gets rough Puerto Ricans disappear and cry that the Federal government has let them down. Where were you Luis?

You and your fake news media claim that over three thousand people died as a result of Maria, but accuse Trump for claiming six to eighteen people died. It seems that hard evidence proves Trump closer to being right than you who claim over three thousand. The correct number is less than five hundred. President Trump made his statement two weeks after Maria hit, you made yours a year later.

“An investigation by Quartz, Puerto Rico’s Center for Investigative Journalism, and the Associated Press has identified 488 victims of Maria. It is the most extensive record yet of who died and why. Many families say that the real cause of death was government inaction.”

Luis I can give you a compliment on one thing i.e. your lies are the biggest.

Another thing Luis, why do you, an American citizen, dislike America so much? You have spent your entire career pushing socialism. What will you do to make a living after you retire at the end of this year? I forgot, you will be sixty-five, and able to collect social security, and a hefty government pension. Will you retire to the island nation of your heritage? They may be able to use some of your experience, or would they instead send you packing back to the land you hate.

A Dream Come True?

Iron Curtain

Socialism seems to be the fashion statement of the U.S.A. Movie stars, comedians, politicians, and many of our brightest young people all proclaim the wonders of socialism. Why? This question has bothered me for some time. I think I have an idea of why socialism is so glamorous to these people. They see everyone living with all the same perks they have today. Imagine if our progeny who live in good homes and who raise their kids wanting for nothing, while living on their parents for too many years suddenly faced with the prospect of having to survive.  Socialism in their minds is living with mom and dad for the rest of their lives. The movie actors who make a bazillion dollars all imagine socialism as living on a bazillion dollars. Politicians, all see themselves sitting in marble walled offices and dining in elegant cafeterias while they lord it over the rest of us. Comedians, well comedians will be comedians and make people laugh while they smoke marijuana to dream up all the funny shit they spew. What a world they see when everyone is living the dream they live today. Everything is free, college, health care, food, places to live, transportation, sex. Wow what a world!

Imagine our entire country living this way. All of us. Hell all we would have to do is take all the money from the rich to finance the life. No one would pay taxes except those radical conservatives who insist on still working, and they would pay it all. The rest of the country will work at boring government jobs pulling down equal pay. Every company in the country would become nationalized so not one could make obscene  profits. We would be the envy of the world. Except, except how long will this utopian dream last? Eventually, and eventually will happen quickly, the government will run out of money to pay for the free stuff, and the honeymoon period will come to an end. What then?

My guess is that the millennials who lead the socialistic charge today would suddenly become black market entrepreneurs. Bit-coin would become the national underground currency for the people who live the socialist dream, but who secretly practice a capitalistic life style.

History means nothing to these people. The past failures of socialism mean nothing. They deflect and say “look at Sweden.”  I look at Sweden, and I don’t like what I see. This happy people pay over seventy percent of their meager salaries for all that free stuff. The Swedes made free look so good that a million refugees invaded from places that love free, but who don’t understand what civilized life is. Now the Swedes are crying that they didn’t know. Germany, the same, France, well France is France. They have always been considered the mavericks of Europe. The French own parts of  Africa that are muslim. These people have French and Moroccan passports and can freely move between continents. France is a mainline highway for muslims to get into Europe. Oops, I’m showing my Islamophobia again. Sorry for that, but facts are facts.

Wouldn’t it be nice is we could run an experiment in the U.S.A. where we set aside an area of 25 states and make it the United Socialist America.  Anyone who wants to be a socialist would move to this area. It would be a socialist dream country. Their constitution would be the same as ours, except their first formal act will be to tear it in half, and burn it. Borders between the socialist states won’t exist, but they will build a fence to keep capitalists out of their heavenly dream. Oh wait, I am only repeating the experiment conducted in Europe that lasted for seventy years. They named that wall the Iron Curtain. I went to see the iron curtain a few months before it was finally torn down. Its sole function was to keep people in heaven, not to keep people out.

My guess is that a second experiment is not necessary, because it already exists, in China, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela. Our citizens  who profess socialism can buy a one way ticket to one of these great countries so they can live the dream. Except, none of these countries will allow them in under their immigration laws.

My second guess is that within a couple of years these candy-ass socialists will be clamoring to return so they can protest their unhappiness in a free country.

As they say, “Freedom does not come free,” and if I can’t stand socialists, I’ll have to tolerate living with them as my payment for living in liberty.

From the American Thinker

The Angry Man Election

For all the interest group pandering that shapes modern American politics, the group that may well have decided the election has come down to the demographic of “The Angry Man.”
The Angry Man is difficult to stereotype. He comes from all economic backgrounds, from dirt-poor to filthy rich. He represents all geographic areas in America , from sophisticated urbanite to rural redneck, Deep South to Yankee North, Left Coast to Eastern Seaboard.

No matter where he’s from, Angry Men share many common traits; they aren’t asking for anything from anyone other than the promise to be able to make their own way on a level playing field. In many cases, they are independent businessmen and employ several people. They pay more than their share of taxes and they work hard. Damn hard, for what they have and intend to keep.

He’s used to picking up the tab, whether it’s the Christmas party for the employees at his company, three sets of braces, college educations or a beautiful wedding or two. Not because he was forced to, but because it’s the right thing to do.

The Angry Man believes the Constitution should be interpreted as it was written. It is not as a “living document” open to the whims and vagaries of appointed judges and political winds.

The Angry Man owns firearms, and he’s willing to pick up a gun and use it in defense of his home, his country and his family. He is willing to lay down his life to defend the freedom and safety of others, and the thought of killing someone if necessary to achieve those goals gives him only momentary pause.

The Angry Man is not, and never will be, a victim. Nobody like him drowned in Hurricane Katrina. He got his people together and got the hell out. Then, he went back in to rescue those who needed help or were too stupid to help themselves in the first place. He was selfless in this, just as often a civilian as a police officer, a National Guard soldier or a volunteer firefighter. Victimhood syndrome buzzwords; “disenfranchised,” “marginalized” and “voiceless” don’t resonate with The Angry Man. “Press ‘one’ for English” is a curse-word to him.

His last name, his race and his religion don’t matter. His ancestry might be Italian, English, African, Polish, German, Slavic, Irish, Russian, Hispanic or any of a hundred others. What does matter is that he considers himself in every way to be an American. He is proud of this country and thinks that if you aren’t, you are whole-heartedly encouraged to find one that suits you and move there.

The Angry Man is usually a man’s man. The kind of guy who likes to play poker, watch football, go hunting, play golf, maintain his own vehicles and build things. He coaches kid’s baseball, soccer and football and doesn’t ask for a penny. He’s the kind of guy who can put an addition on his house with a couple of friends, drill an oil well, design a factory or work the land. He can fill a train with 100,000 tons of coal and get it to the power plant so that you can keep the lights on while never knowing everything it took to do that. The Angry Man is the backbone of this country.

He’s not racist, but is truly disappointed and annoyed, when people exhibit behavior that typifies the worst stereotypes of their ethnicity. He’s willing to give everybody a fair chance if they’re willing to work hard and play by the rules. He expects other people to do the same. Above all, he has integrity in everything he does.

The Angry Man votes, and he loathes the dysfunction now rampant in government. It’s the victim groups being pandered to and the “poor me” attitude that they represent. The inability of politicians to give a straight answer to an honest question. The tax dollars that are given to people who simply don’t want to do anything for themselves. The fact that, because of very real consequences, he must stay within a budget but for some obscure reason the government he finances doesn’t. Mostly, it’s the blatantly arrogant attitude displayed implying that we are too stupid to run our own lives and only people in government are smart enough to do that.

The Angry Man has reached his limit. When a social justice agitator goes on TV, leading some rally for Black Lives Matter, safe spaces or other such nonsense, he may bite his tongue but, he remembers. When a child gets charged with carrying a concealed weapon for mistakenly bringing a penknife to school, he takes note of who the local idiots are in education and law enforcement.
But when government officials are repeatedly caught red-handed breaking the law and getting off scot-free, The Angry Man balls-up his fists and readies himself for the coming fight. He knows that this fight, will be a live or die situation, so he prepares fully. Make no mistake, this is a fight in which he is not willing to lose and he will never give up.

ONE VOICE

By

Doug Todd

“The goal of socialism is communism”. Vladimir Lenin

It has been said that “Socialism is the bridge between Capitalism and Communism” and, for many of us, that is a bridge we are reluctant to cross.

I tend to think of our two main political parties as being like pyramids in which the foundation stones are the local people who hold office at the city and county level and rising, step by step, with a smaller number at each level, until we reach the capstone which I see as the office of The President of The United States. The capstone could not be where it is without support at the local level.

The Democratic Party is now openly Socialist at the upper levels and no longer bothers to deny it. The American Democratic Party of Kennedy and other patriotic leaders is no longer with us. It is a sad fact – but a fact nonetheless.

We still have local Democrats who are honest citizens and who honestly believe they would never become Socialists. They are probably sincere but they seem not to grasp the fact that supporting today’s Democratic Party is, in fact, supporting socialism. The Socialists/Communists at the top could not be or remain where they are without support from the foundation level – local voters and office-holders.

We have a choice now between opposites – Light& Darkness, Good & Evil, Freedom & Servitude. Liberty and Socialism cannot stand in the same space. A vote for Socialism is a vote against Freedom and our Democratic party now represents Socialism in the Political spectrum as we see it in America.

The foundation of Socialism in America is the local voter and local office holder willing to sacrifice Honor and hard-won Liberty for temporary political gain.

The only way to guarantee a return to Self-Government is to unseat every Democrat in every local office across America. Let’s do it now!
