Unamerican, You Call Me Unamercian?

That’s the last straw. I have been tolerant of democrats even though I do not believe in their liberal BS.  Now, however, they  have gone too far by calling protesters unamerican. It seems to me that the only unamericans are the ones calling us unamericans. Have they not read the Constitution or the Bill of Rights either? Do you even know who you work for? . Do you care? I don’t think so. Who signs your check? It certainly isn’t POTUS.

If our our representatives really cared for their constituents they would listen to what we have to say.  I know it is hard to sit patiently, and listen to a bunch of angry people holler at you, but did you ever think they are hollering because you have put your own agenda before those of the people?

Why is it so important for you to follow POTUS’s  directions so blindly? He has only one vote to give you, just like the rest of us. Or, does he have something else you need that makes you so blind?  Is POTUS so omnipotent, and all wise, that you must bow, and cow tow to his whims? He has less experience in this life than you do, and I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt.

Yes, I am unamerican because I still believe in this country. I never thought we needed change we can believe in.  I do not  believe I need hope for a country that is damn near perfect with all of its flaws intact. I believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the way they were written by the founders. I believe in fiscal conservatism. I believe it is a place where all can have equal opportunity, including legal immigrants. Yes, I believe all those things, so Mr. Democratic Congressman, call me unamerican.

You know what else I believe in?  I believe that you will lose my vote. I believe that you have instilled within me a fire to oppose you with every dyne of energy this old body can muster.

Yes, you, my name calling unamerican American, are the source of all problems in this beautiful country. The world will become a much better place without you.

How Much Am I Bid?

My Flag Flies Everyday

My Flag Flies Everyday

How much money would you be willing to take for your right hand? If someone made an offer to buy your right hand, how much would you ask? Would you sell it?  Would you bid the number up to several million dollars, and think about selling? How about your heart? You probably wouldn’t sell your heart since you only have one, but we do have many doubles in our bodies, and we could stand to do without one of them. Hands, eyes, ears, feet, knees, hips, kidneys, lungs, all exist in duals.  I have heard that it is common to sell a kidney for fifteen thousand dollars. Would you?  Would you give up an eye, or your hearing  for money? Probably not, unless your life circumstances were so desperate as to make you sell.

I personally, would not sell an eye for all the money in China. I love to see. Currently, I’m losing my hearing and I don’t like it one bit. Most of us think the same way about our body parts. So why is it that we are reluctant to pay for the care and maintenance of that precious resource called the human body?  We seek work at companies that have insurance plans, we balk at paying premiums, and co-pays. We want the maintenance of  the most complicated biological system in the universe, our body, to be free.  If you don’t believe it is complex, try taking over the function for some organ that has stopped working.  Try controlling your blood sugar. Worse yet, see what happens if your kidneys stop functioning and you have to filter waste from your blood  via dialysis. You get the drift, the body is a precious biological  machine. In spite of that, we smoke, drink, take mind altering drugs, text while driving,  eat fatty foods, and lead  sedentary lives. We gamble that “the system” will cure us, but we don’t take financial responsibility for health maintenance and repair.

The current national argument centers around free health care for everyone.  The government proposes to take over control of our body maintenance.  If we let them do that, will we also let them take over the ownership of our body parts as well?  Isn’ that slavery?  I envision a system that traffics in body parts.  Picture this: a huge white government clinic with healthy people waiting to get in at the front. One by one they come out the back missing a body part. On the east side, I see people coming in with various infirmaties. They leave the west side with new life.  No folks, I’m not on anything but my morning coffee. Quite a science fiction scenario isn’t it?

Is this the ‘change’ we voted for?

Grimoba Comes to Visit

Grimoba Conducts a Mandatory Health Care ConsultI don’t think POTUS has any experience with folks in a nursing home. I sure wouldn’t want to be the agent whose job it is to conduct the mandatory health care consult. It is my guess  the old people will be glad to advise the consultant with a few choice options for his future, and where to go next.

Are we approaching a new and better version of Soylent Green?

My wife Peggy is worried about her future. Four years ago, she had the misfortune of coding within minutes  after taking a new blood pressure medication. She was clinically dead; kept alive by life support machines. A great emergency room staff saved her. It is her concern that if she were to code again under Obama Care, she would not be resuscitated. She has a point.

Who will make that call? If a bureaucrat had made the decision for Peggy, she would not have enjoyed  four additional years of  good living.

Obama Care is the new Soylent Green.

Never Mind

Government"s Idea for HealthcareIn days long past on Saturday Night Live,  Gilda Radner played the part of a ranting TV news reporter. Her co-anchors watched  her in puzzlement.  At the end of  her piece, the anchors would tell her the facts were  all wrong.  She would look at them sheepishly, and  say “never mind.”

That is exactly the way I feel about my last post  “They Just Don’t Get It.” I went off on a rant, and in my fever got lost in the argument. I made a huge mistake in math. My argument was that the government could buy health insurance for the forty seven million uninsured from the private sector for forty seven million dollars. Great deal, right?  Wrong. I was off by a factor of ten thousand. The cost wouldn’t be forty seven million it would be more like four hundred and seventy billion. A big difference.

 NEVER MIND.

I have edited the piece by cutting the erroneous math. The rest of the argument holds.

I apologize for selling the same snake oil as the the liberals. I will be more careful in the future.

They Just Don’t Get It.(Edited)

My Flag Flies Everyday

Well I spoiled the day early by watching a video of my beloved ass kissing Senator Dickie Durbin blow acrid fumes out of his communication port.  Now, I will have to work overtime to restore my usual positive smiling grumpy self.

Durbin is warning his Senatorial colleagues not to allow themselves to be drawn into a sucker punch by the protesters at the town hall meetings. He claims the meetings  are loaded with insurance industry agitators. He just showed how out of touch with the constituency this guy and his colleagues are. I have been to three Tea Party Day events, and I can swear that the only people attending are genuine working  folks who are pissed off by the jerks we employ to represent us. Our representatives don’t listen, they spend our money like it is their mandate, and they think we have an unlimited well from which we draw our cash.  The Tea Party people also believe very strongly in a document called the “Constitution.”

In the meantime, our representatives work their one hundred and fifty days, and complain about working overtime. They vote themselves raises when the rest of us are taking pay cuts to survive. They give themselves a gold plated pension and health care plan for life.  The audacity of their arrogance to  get upset because we balk at their snake oil rhetoric  on the need for rationing health care, or their  advice on end of life decisions. Excuse me, but I already have all of my health care mandates and powers of attorney designated. I didn’t need a trillion dollar plan to make me do it.

Another former senator has called the protestors at the town hall meeting an unruly angry mob; an embarrassment to the United States.  Again, they fail to see the relevancy of what they are witnessing. Yes, we are an angry bunch, but why? Who is the real embarrassment to the country? Not the people who populate it, rather the ivory tower bunch who are  destroying  it.

Here is a simple solution to the health care problem as proposed by some doctors in Joliet.

Most people who are employed, and have health care insurance from the private sector have a lifetime limit of one million dollars in benefits. The USA has forty seven million people without health insurance. Let the government go to the private sector, and buy these uninsured a policy with a million dollar limit like the rest of us have.

A simple idea like that would stimulate the economy through the insurance companies. It evens everyone by giving them health insurance.  Why won’t it work? It won’t work because of the following reasons:

1. There is no money in it for our representatives to graft

2. There is no opportunity by the representatives to control our liberty, instead it gives us freedom.

3. It is too simple an idea for the complex liberal mind to comprehend.

4. The government could not grow with megalithic proportions.

5. What would we do with all the surplus taxes coming in? (Suggestion, pay off the deficit)

6. Our socialist leaders could not buy the votes they need to get into office.

7. A simple solution, such as proposed, would eliminate the army of legislative lawyers who write thousand page bills that take an army of lawyers to read and interpret.

8. A simple solution would be the  real change we could believe in.

9. A solution proposed by doctors is not acceptable. They can’t be smarter than our mind clogged representatives.

10. Big Brother would have to brainwash another generation before they lead us into a dictatorship.
