The “Show Me State” Does

I am reading a book called American Insurgents, American Patriots, the Revolution of the People by T.H. Breen, a professor of American History at Northwestern University. The account is about America in the years prior to the American Revolution. He tells about the conditions of the colonies and their attitudes about Liberty. They were already thinking about independence, but not from King George. They were very loyal to the King, and to England. Yet, they had lived in a society of freedom and liberty that had become very important to them. When the Boston Tea Party took place, it kicked off a series of events that solidified the colonists into a singular entity willing to die for liberty.

They had formulated an idea about liberty long before 1776 and the Declaration of Independence. By the time the Founding Fathers took control of the situation, the majority of the population was set to fend for their rights.

As I read this chronicle, I see the current state of America unfold in my mind. It is scary, but right at this moment in our history, events similar to those that took place in 1774 are happening.

We see a general unhappiness about the direction the President and the Administration are taking the country. We are upset about the losses of liberty as we secede to big government. We are unhappy about the arrogant way in which the leaders fail to hear our complaints.  We are unhappy about the new laws they put into place to punish us for their sins of stupidity, and their immoral refusal to accept responsibility. I have not finished this book yet, but I see the future in the past.

The colonists were not organized when it  started. They formed small local groups of citizens to defend their towns. Very similar to the Tea Party Organizers forming local small groups of unhappy people into a voice.

The colonies needed a vehicle to communicate the happenings in Boston, and of government. Astute patriots established newspapers to spread the word. Still, the word spread slowly, so they organized a postal service to spread the newspapers from town to town quickly. Today, the government works feverishly to use newspapers and TV media to spread their propaganda. Modern day patriots use the internet, cable news, and blogs to keep the government BS from taking hold.

When King George punished the population of the Colonies for dumping tea into Boston Harbor, he started events that solidified the citizenry. When a rumor spread that the governor ordered the bombardment of Boston, towns all the way from Maine marched to save their fellow citizens. The march in total was disorganized, yet each town unit was an organized effort.

The colonists realized that the bombardment was only a rumor, and Boston did not suffer. What did happen, though, was a realization that collectively they were a huge singular force that could take on the Redcoats.

This week, an event occurred in Missouri. It was a simple act, an election on a referendum regarding a loss of liberty. Obama-Care contains language that requires the purchase of health care insurance. I wrote about this a while back and recommended forced purchase, similar to car insurance, as an option to take care of the problem. At the time, I was not aware that the Constitution does not allow the government to make us buy anything.

Missourians spoke loudly and clearly. They turned out in record numbers to make their voices heard that they do not condone any law that steals their liberty. The Missourians are like the colonists of 1774 who acted positively to protect their liberty. This one event may be the one that solidifies the colonists of 2010 into a cohesive force that will take on the Red-Feds.

There is still hope for AMERICA, let us pray that I am right.

A Very, Very, Very Sad Song

Play gypsy play! What a sad song you send us from your melancholy strings. A good fifteen percent of the work force is out of work, but our president has the guts to send his family to Spain on a junket. Who is paying for that? I really feel for his finances. He really made me feel like he can relate to the plight of the general population with his tear jerking story of maxed out credit cards, and the struggle to feed a 401K. That has changed dramatically hasn’t it?

Keep paying those taxes America, the liberals aren’t finished spending your money.

Loose Lips

In times of war, military secrets leaked to the enemy are acts of TREASON. This week we learned of a massive leak of military information regarding the Afghan and Iraq wars. Did I say war? Yes, Congress declared both as wars. They are wars for everyone except for the Commander in Chief. He thinks they are criminal acts, and is handling them the same way as any murderer or thief. During World War II, any act of treason was punishable by death. Why is Obama handling the raid of information by a foreign organization like WikiLeaks so loosely?

I see a thread of continuity here that is scary. Obama definitely has a laissez-faire attitude about the security of our country. Let me count the ways:  1.) Establish an open border, and allow anyone in who wants to come, even terrorists. 2.) Throw your allies under the bus in favor of your enemies. 3.) Disband the nuclear arsenal. 4.) Allow strangers to crash White House State dinners. 5.) Allow your top general to fraternize with liberal magazine writers. 6.) Allow the Muslims to practice dhimmitude by building a Mosque next to the Twin Towers to show they conquered the USA. 7.) Bow to foreign powers. 8.) Take months to react to a request from your front line general. 9.) Allow known Russian spies to live in the country. 10.) Allow a second-rate computer hackers like WikiLeaks gain access to military information and then dismiss it with a “so what?”

The real question to answer is this: Did WikiLeaks hack into our computers, or, did someone inside our government give them access. If they hacked in, I call it an act of aggression the same as war. If one of our people gave it to them, I call it TREASON.

My What Big Ears You Have

An old story about Little Red Riding Hood inspired this cartoon. “My, what big ears you have,” said Red to her grandmother. “Better to hear you with my dear,” answered the wolf disguised as Grandma.

Deception takes place in children’s stories and in adult ones too. The worst deception occurs when a politician blatantly lies about his agenda to win an election. Radical Saul Alinsky taught that it is okay to do whatever it takes to win your position. Even lying is appropriate if that is what it takes. There is another way to say it, “the end justifies the means.”

In the case of Obama, his ears are not for hearing us. He is doing what he wants to do regardless of what “we the people,” desire. In other words, he knows what is good for us better than we do. He pretends to listen, says what we want to hear, then does something completely different. An example is the day he spent on C-Span listening to Republicans tell him how to reform the heath care system.

In many ways, this administration is reminiscent of King George’s at the time of the American Revolution. George kept doing what he wanted regardless of input from his constituents. He kept imposing unfair taxes on the people to advance his agenda. He finally got his comeuppance when the citizens of America reached a point that stopped him dead in his tracks.

When will we reach that point?

A Bill For Services Rendered

I just received a bill that set me back on my heels. What the heck did I spend on to get a bill like the one below? I do not spend much at all, but the government spends on my behalf. They do a very good job too. The problem with their spending is that I do not see any benefit. So why am I getting the bill? You will get one too. This invoice is for every person in the USA. The problem is that after I pay this bill, I will get another one to pay for my counterpart who has not worked.
