PSA-170214-Did You Know?

I have seen too many of my friends posting negative comments on Facebook about Republicans, and President Trump taking their Social Security benefits away. The implication is that the Republicans will be the bad guys who leave us hanging out to dry. The brief history below timelines all the changes to the Social Security law from the inception. After you read this ask yourself which party is the most likely to remove your benefit?

Your SS Card – did you know?
History Lesson on Your Social Security Card

Just in case some of you didn’t know this. It’s easy to
check out, if you don’t believe it. Be sure and show
it to your family and friends. They need a little history
lesson on what’s what and it doesn’t matter whether
you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts.
Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated
the number and card were not to be used for identification
purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now
has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway
and the message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION, was removed.

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:

1.) That participation in the Program would be
Completely voluntary,

No longer Voluntary

2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
Incomes into the Program,

Now 7.65%
on the first $90,000

3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,

No longer tax deductible

4.) That the money the participants put into the
independent ‘Trust Fund’ rather than into the
general operating fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other
Government program, and,

Under Johnson the money was moved to
The General Fund and Spent

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never
be taxed as income.

Under Clinton & Gore
Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are
now receiving a Social Security check every month —
and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of
the money we paid to the Federal government to ‘put
away’ — you may be interested in the following:

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the
independent ‘Trust Fund’ and put it into the
general fund so that Congress could spend it?

A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically
controlled House and Senate.

———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— —

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax
deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?

A: The Democratic Party.

———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— —–

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social
Security annuities?

A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting
the
‘tie-breaking’ deciding vote as President of the
Senate, while he was Vice President of the US

———— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— ——— –

Q: Which Political Party decided to start
giving annuity payments to immigrants?

AND MY FAVORITE:

A: That’s right!

Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to them,
even though they never paid a dime into it!

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA),
the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans
want to take your Social Security away!

One Pissed Off Woman

crrawford.jpg

Today, I received an e-mail from a retired Air Force Colonel. It contains a letter from a lady named Patty Meyers. I checked it with Snopes, and they declare it Mixed. The reason it is mixed is because they cannot attribute all the statements to Patty Meyers. What that tells me is that Snopes wants to discredit this piece because it highlights problems created by Liberals. The letter refers to the last time Congress had to bail out Social Security several years ago. The problem is relevant again because the fix of kicking the can down the road has caused us to reach the can again. The root cause of this problem stems from the Democrat President Lyndon Johnson who asked Congress to remove Social Security from it’s trust fund protection  and to put the fund into the general budget. His argument was that his Great Society could benefit by the infusion of cash, and the government would make good on the money it was now borrowing from Social Security. Well folks, good old Lyndon is long dead and the Congress that voted this plan into law is also gone except for a few of the career guys like Alan Simpson who voted for the changes. The simple fact is that your Social Security comes from your paycheck and your employer contributes an equal amount. The money funnels into the general fund and Congress spends it on their generous social programs that benefit.

It is real easy to give away other peoples money which is what Congress does for a living. The problem is that they spend it faster than you give it to them, and with millions baby boomers retiring Uncle is in a lot of trouble. I will wager that if someday they eliminate Social Security payments they will continue to withdraw money from your check.

Alan Simpson currently works for President Obama on a special commission to propose ways to reduce the federal deficit.

Read the letter below, you will laugh cry and get angry all at the same time.  You may also begin to understand why Donald Trump is doing well in the primaries.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Alan Simpson, the former Senator from Wyoming, calls senior citizens the ‘Greediest Generation’ as he compared “Social Security” to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats.

Here’s a response in a letter from PATTY MYERS in Montana … I think she is a little ticked off! She also tells it like it is!
………………………………………………………………………………
Hey, Alan, let’s get a few things straight!!!!!

1. As a career politician, you have been on the public dole (tit) for FIFTY YEARS.

2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63).

3. My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in ‘an interest bearing account’ for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch of losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would make Bernie Madoff proud.

4. Recently, just like Lucy and Charlie Brown, you and “your ilk” pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and
moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to age 67. NOW, you and your “shill commission” are proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN.

5.  I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from day one, and now “you” propose to change the rules of the game.
Why? Because “you” mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an extent that you need to steal our money from Medicare to pay the bills.

6. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why? Because you “incompetents” spent our money so profligately that you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt. To add insult to injury, you label us “greedy” for calling “bullshit” to your incompetence. Well, Captain Bullshit, I have a few questions for YOU:

1. How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during your pathetic 50-year political career?

2. At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and how much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the American taxpayers?

3. How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance?

4. What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or as usual, have you exempted yourself and
your political cronies?

5. It is you, Captain Bullshit, and your political co-conspirators called Congress who are the “greedy” ones.

6. It is you and your fellow thieves who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers. And for what? Votes, your job and retirement security at our expense.

7. That’s right, sir. You and yours have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of advancing your political careers. You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it.

8. And you can take that to the bank.

NO, I did not stutter.
P.S. And stop calling Social Security benefits “entitlements”. WHAT AN INSULT! I
have been paying into the SS system for 48 years. It’s my money give it back to me the way the system was designed and stop patting yourself on the back like you are being generous by doling out these monthly checks.

Imagine Uncle Managing Your Savings

Social_Security_Card_and_Money_slideshow-2.jpg

This post has been around the country a few times, and I have read it many times. Somehow I never posted it. The more I read it the more upset I get. In fact, as I read it now, I picked up on something that didn’t register before. The government does not contribute a single cent to your Social Security. It is you and your employer who put in the money. Somehow Uncle plays a shell game and switches the pea to a new shell. The government only protects the money for us, and they do a piss-poor job of it. They say they borrow it and when you need it they will pay it back. That must be where they get the idea that it belongs to them. Read this entire piece and you will understand the process better. The worst part of it is that the government always threatens to default on its Social Security obligations when a shut down is nearing. That is so they can get paid first, by using the money we put into the fund for our retirement.

####################################################

Who died before they collected Social Security?

KEEP PASSING THIS AROUND UNTIL EVERY ONE HAS HAD THEOPPORTUNITY TO READ IT…

THIS IS SURE SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT!!!!

THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THE GOVERNMENT’S CALCULATION OF AVAILABLE SOCIAL SECURITY IS THEY FORGOT TO FIGURE IN THE PEOPLE WHO DIED BEFORE THEY EVER COLLECTED A SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK!!!

WHERE DID THAT MONEY GO?

Remember, not only did you and I contribute to Social Security but your employer did, too.  It totaled 15% of your income before taxes.

If you averaged only $30K over your working life, that’s close to $220,500.

Read that again.

Did you see where the Government paid in one single penny?

We are talking about the money you and your employer put in a Government bank to insure you and me that we would have a retirement check from the money we put in, not the Government.

Now they are calling the money we put in an entitlement when we reach the age to take it back.

If you calculate the future invested value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer’s contribution) at a simple 5% interest (less than what the Government pays on the money that it borrows).

After 49 years of working you’d have $892,919.98.

If you took out only 3% per year, you’d receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years (until you’re 95 if you retire at age 65) and that’s with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit!

If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you’d have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month.

THE FOLKS IN WASHINGTON HAVE PULLED OFF A BIGGER PONZI SCHEME THAN BERNIE MADOFF EVER DID.

Entitlement my foot; I paid cash for my social security insurance!

Just because they borrowed the money for other government spending, doesn’t make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!!

Remember the benefits for members of Congress?

+          free healthcare,

+          outrageous retirement packages,

+          67 paid holidays,

+          three weeks paid vacation,

+           unlimited paid sick days.

Now that’s welfare, and they have the nerve to call my social security retirement payments entitlements?  They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives, and now, when it’s time for us to collect, the government is running out of money.

Why did the government borrow from it in the first place? It was supposed to be in a locked box, not part of the general fund.

Sad isn’t it?

99% of people won’t have the guts to forward this.

I’m in the 1%

I JUST DID!

Too Bloomin’ Funny

I don’t know why I have such a mean streak, but I do. It seems that when I find something that makes a liberal look like a dumb-ass I fall in love with it. The following news article is one of them.

It is Funny Folks, Laugh

Depressed Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel , “Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land.” Nearly 75 years ago, (when Welfare was introduced) Roosevelt said, “Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a Camel, this is the Promised Land.” Today, Congress has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of Camels and mortgaged the Promised Land! I was so depressed last night thinking about Health Care Plans, the economy, the wars, lost jobs, savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc …. I called a Suicide Hotline. I had to press 1 for English. I was connected to a call center in Pakistan . I told them I was suicidal. They got excited and asked if I could drive a truck…… Folks, we’re screwed.

Thanks Ray, I had a good laugh.

Cut 1.5 Trillion From Federal Budget in Ten Minutes

My Flag Flies Every Day

Watch this video for a very brief and concise plan to cut Federal Spending by 1.5 trillion in ten years.. This task took the 535 several weeks to decide they could not do it. Amazingly, not  a single social program was touched. So what is our problem? Maybe the 535 should be impeached for failure to do the job.

When Does Inflation Begin?

It is not necessary to remind you of what is going on in the super market these days.

Last week, Grandma Peggy and I stopped by the supermercado to pick up some basics. We walked out with a single small bag and sixty dollars less in our pockets. I needed gas, so we went to the BP for a fill up. The Death Star rarely takes more than twelve gallons, but that day it took twelve. The bill was forty dollars. Between a few groceries and a fill up we spent $100 bucks. That is enough to break the bank when you  are on a fixed income.  Seniors didn’t get a COLA adjustment this year because inflation is so low. Everyone knows that COLA is the acronym for Cost of Living Adjustment. Those of us depending on Social Security did not get that measely little adjustment, but our great Representatives and Senators gave themselves a very significant increase in salary. So significant in fact, that their increase was about forty percent of what we get for the year.

It seems to me that we pay these guys way too much to wreck our economy and society. They don’t listen to the voice of the people yet they think so highly of their effort to turn us into a socialist society they gave themselves a pay raise to flaunt it.

When I challenge my financial advisor about the need to put my 401K into vehicles that fight inflation, he argues that there is no inflation. Well what the heck is driving prices to go up? “It is the value of the dollar.”  Well how do we increase the value of the dollar? The government has to stop spending so much. But a weak dollar is good for the economy. Really? Yes, When the dollar is low, foreigners can buy more of our products with their money. A weak dollar is good for business.

Yep! A weak dollar is good for foreigners, and it shrinks the buying power of every American. That is another example of income redistribution. It makes a lot of sense doesn’t it? Have any of our illustrious representatives looked at the balance of trade lately?  I doubt it, they are too busy having their high paid staffs read the funny papers to them.

I can’t imagine how tough things will be when we begin to see inflation on top a shrinking dollar.

Write, call, e-mail your Congressman and  Senator and ask them to stop the insane spending. They are heading us right back into slavery a lot faster than it took to emancipate it.
