A Bill For Services Rendered

I just received a bill that set me back on my heels. What the heck did I spend on to get a bill like the one below? I do not spend much at all, but the government spends on my behalf. They do a very good job too. The problem with their spending is that I do not see any benefit. So why am I getting the bill? You will get one too. This invoice is for every person in the USA. The problem is that after I pay this bill, I will get another one to pay for my counterpart who has not worked.

Three Stages of Obamacare

The three stages of Obama care are Abortion, Regular Care, and End of Life.  Here is the way I see it.

STAGE 1

Why is abortion so important to the government? Each child born into a welfare family receives aid. In my home state of Illinois, the average payment to a family is $401.00 per month. If the aid ends when a kid turns eighteen, he will have been paid $86,616.00 over his lifetime.  There are 1.3 million abortions in the USA each year. Let us assume that ten percent of them are welfare recipients. The total cost to the government using the average cost of $86,616 per child is 11.2 billion dollars.  It is beginning to sound like some serious money.

STAGE 2

Money spent on health care is one sixth of the total economy. My math calculates that to be 2.3 trillion dollars. If I spread that number over our total population, it translates to $8461.00 per every insured person in the country.  Now, let us add the thirty million uninsured into the same calculation, the number drops to $7778.00 per insured person.   That is a reduction of ten percent. Ten percent less paid to medical suppliers. What that means to me is that my doctor will have to recommend lower cost treatments to diagnose my situation. For instance, it may mean an x-ray instead of an MRI. The two are as different as comparing a black and white TV to a High Definition Digital TV. Which test do you think will be able to help your doctor find a problem?

STAGE 3

End of life situations can be ugly. None of us wants to die, but we do. The cost of keeping a very sick person alive can be devastating. My own experience with Barbara is that it cost well over five hundred thousand dollars to keep her alive for two years.  I call it dying ugly. Each year 2.4 million people die in the USA.  Let us assume that ten percent die ugly like my Barb. The cost comes to 121 billion dollars. The bottom line is that death panels make sense to Uncle.

Final argument

Medicare became a law in 1965. The law made a lot of sense, and was a bi-partisan effort. The plan is forty-five years old this year. It is bankrupt. Why is that?  Our leaders have piggy backed more recipients into the system over the years. The baby boomers who are coming online have overloaded the system.  The administration has had forty-five years to improve and fix Medicare. Even worse, they have had over seventy years to fix the postal service, over thirty years to reduce our dependency on foreign oil, and the list keeps going. Obama wants us to believe that he can perform a miracle and fix health care in a single year.  The bill will require a building the size of ten Pentagons to staff with people who will finally read, interpret, and write the final rules.

In the infinite wisdom of our President, he will remove $500 billion dollars from Medicare to fund the new Obama care.   Medicare will go broke within a year or two.  All of us who are retired will certainly be looking into the eye of a death panel. Many of us will recall watching the final moments of Edward G. Robinson as the panel euthanized him in the movie Soylent Green.

Yes, there is a great need for health care reform. Obama care is not it, yet he pressures us to love it now, or the country faces certain disaster. I happen to believe that we will profit by defeating Obama care now, and by revising the system in a rational way.

Put me on the job. I will hire a bunch of engineers who know how to solve problems and we will design a system that will work, and the country will love.

Watermelon Salesman

Thank you, Dan Rather. You gave me this inspirational idea. Do you ever really know what you are getting when you purchase a watermelon?  It has a very thick skin that is very solid and green. It can look very tasty from the outside, but are you ever sure of how ripe it is on the inside? The watermelon is a perfect example to explain the current healthcare plan that Congress is pouring down our throats for our own good. Who knows what evil lurks inside the two thousand plus pages of the gobble-de-gook language of a Harvard lawyer. It may be the best thing ever presented to the American people, or it can be the worst. How do we know? How will we know? When will we know?  I guess we will have to believe just like the followers of one Jim Jones, and swallow the cool-aid to find out.

This morning, I got a rude awakening from a health care provider. It is no secret that I have Medicare as my primary insurance. Ii carry a secondary private policy to cover what the wonderful Medicare does not. I would prefer to buy my own healthcare insurance, but when a person turns sixty-five in the USA, it is his obligation to swallow Medicare. That is wrong, I am not obligated to take Medicare, but since I pay for it with my taxes, I feel that I am entitled to get it. I am not rich enough to buy it on my own.

I called the healthcare provider to order diabetic testing supplies.  I have some experience with diabetes, having raised a child from the age of five who had type-one diabetes. I know the value of testing blood to determine where the sugar level is. Also for years, I preached to my son on the value of knowing his blood sugar so he could adjust his insulin level appropriately. When I became diabetic, I decided I had better walk the talk. For the past five years, I have tested myself three to four times a day. I use my sugar level to decide when to eat, how much to eat, and what to eat. I have maintained a normal A1C level (long-term blood sugar level) for five years.

Why do I do this? I do it because diabetes is the scourge of the human body. It is the number one reason for new blindness in the United States. It is the number one reason for the amputation of a person’s foot. It is a cause for kidney failure. Diabetics are almost guaranteed to suffer a stroke or heart attack. The list of body damage and collateral diseases is long. I figure that it is much healthier to live with testing and adjusting my diet than it is to let the disease go rampant. My quality of life is much better also.

So, this morning when my provider told me that Medicare only pays for a single blood test every day, I became incensed. What will happen when Obama care cuts another five hundred billion dollars out of the Medicare budget?  I shudder to think of what will happen if you are a type-one diabetic and Obama care dictates to you how often you can test.  It is my prediction, that with universal health care and the shortage of doctors it will create, and treatments it will dictate we get, that diabetes will be a death sentence like it was before the invention of insulin.

There is nothing like moving backward a hundred years in the name of CHANGE and improvement.

Doctor Death Advises a Fascist

The president’s chief medical adviser is Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of Obama’s chief of staff.  Dr Emanuel has a bizarre concept of life. Emanuel and  Kevorkian are brothers of a kind. In Emanuel’s philosophy, life belongs only to the healthy, and the young. Somehow, Emanuel’s brain has become infused with fecal matter. To him, life is expendable. How a jew can think this way is beyond comprehension.

In a recent speech given at a Congressional dinner by David Janda, MD, a highly respected orthopedic surgeon and author, Dr Janda warns of the impending danger associated with the Obama Health Care plan. He describes the plan in one word, “fascist.”

My mind is graphics oriented, and when I read about BHO’s advisor and his radical ideas, a clear picture came into mind. Combine Emanuel’s concept for who is to be saved, with Barack’s plot to enslave us, and a picture unfolds below.

Chains You Can Believe In

Converting Dollars to Cents

Government"s Idea for HealthcareIt is not that I don’t trust big government with my health care dollar, it is that I don’t trust big government with any of my dollars. I see a record of tired old ideas that have failed to produce the utopian society that they were invented for.

Take education, as an example. We spend more dollars per student than any country in the world, yet our kids can’t read. Why?

Take Medicare as another example. It is a system that is limited to the senior population. Yet, Medicare is broke. Why? One reason is that over the years it has been expanded to include too many non-seniors.

Take the DEA as another example. Are we really winning the war on drugs?

How about the Department of Energy. Invented by Jimmy Carter to reduce our dependence on foreign oil in  the 1970’s. Have we seen an effect yet? I could go on and on with every department in the government and report a dismal record of expenditures. Why do we insist on continuing these stupid lame policies?

The cartoon above depicts my vision  of how our tax money will be used by big government on healthcare.
