Mind Numbing State

My story begins long after Obama begins to transform America, and his successor Hillary completes his father’s dream during her first term. She finalizes America into the totally mind numbing state of socialism predicted by Ayn Rand in Atlas Shrugged. Moving forward Hillary initiates a new movement she believes is smarter and stronger than socialism, she calls it factionalism. It is her premise that all members of society fit into one of five factions of personality. They are: 1.  Abnegation for the selfless who renounce or reject all things. 2. Amity for the peaceful who believe all relationships are friendly. 3. Candor for those people who are honest and open in expression. 4. Dauntless for the brave, fearless, and determined.  5. Erudite for the intelligent who show great knowledge or learning.

Hillary’s term ends before she has completed the factional transformation, and her successor continues with the plan. The successor uncovers a bug in the philosophy of factionalism, i.e. what happens to people who don’t fit in any of the five factions, she labels them divergent. They can think outside the box and reject being pigeon-holed into any of the factions. A Divergent is dangerous to Factionalism. There is only one way to deal with a Divergent, and that is to kill him.

The narrative above is my attempt to presage the real story of “Divergent” written by Veronica Roth as a children’s story. Divergent is the current movie rage that had me on the edge of my seat throughout. It also started my mind spinning into the possibilities of reaching that point in civilization where such a scenario becomes real. The setting is Chicago, and the scene of the abandoned buildings on either side of a dry Chicago River bed gave it real meaning. This story theme reminded me of Hunger Games and its spin on what the world will become in the future. Each film is entertaining, but Hunger Games seemed more entertaining than Divergent. Perhaps it is because Divergent tells the story of a plebe seeking entry into Dauntless through a rigorous and brutal training program. Whereas, the Hunger Games was a more adventure filled, problem solving competition with no punches barred. Each film has merit and each tells a good story. Both are worth watching.

Normally, Peggy and I don’t go for the sci-fi, fantasy, and comic book themed stories of the future, but this one had both of us riveted.

A Look Into The Crystal Ball

For the past five years I have ranted about the evils of socialism, and the dangerous course our country is on with the current leadership. I am preaching to the choir, because I have not changed a single liberal mind. Liberal minds close to the ideas of conservatism. They insist on everyone being totally equal in everything. History clearly shows liberalism fails in every country practicing it.

This morning I took some time to read my e-mails and watch videos sent by friends. One video is striking and reinforces my message about the danger of  socialism. Some of you call it Progressivism, I call it communism. Please invest a few minutes of your precious time to view the video sent to me by my good buddy Ed. If you are liberal, open your mind for just a few minutes while you hear and watch this view of our future.

Howdy, I’m a Parasite!

I read this blog piece with some suspicion, but changed my mind after reading more about the blogger and more of his work. This piece got me in the heart. It is a truly honest depiction of what the unemployed are going through, all of them. It also sheds light on the importance of aid programs on these lives. We must be careful to differentiate between those on welfare and those who are given temporary assistance. Most people who lost a job would rather work but cannot find it. What happens to them?

Divide and Conquer

Listen up all you pretend Catholics who buy into Obama’s socialist agenda. How many of you feel the government must help the poor more than they already are? I hear commentators spew guilt(most recently Stephen Colbert) upon their listeners about how Christians are hypocritical and against helping humanity because they don’t support Obama’s policies. What I don’t hear is how many of these same people are giving up all they have to give it to the needy.

Watch this video to learn what is behind Obama’s effort to divide Christians and Catholics.

A

Lower Than Stupid

Obama never ceases to amaze me. There are times when he sounds very smart, but most times he acts dumb as a rock. His goal to transform America is one of those dumb ideas. His campaign promise to “transform the greatest country on earth” is the most stupid thing I have ever heard. He never has told us what he was going to transform us into, not even during his snoozer Super Bowl interview with Bill O’Reilly.

One of the more recent efforts to sell his Un-affordable Care Act is to spew the concept of people staying home to pursue their dreams instead of taking one of the several millions of new jobs he has not created. The logic is that if you have free health care you don’t need to worry about a job. That is lower than stupid, but it is his admin spreading that heresy.

How he amazes me is this, his base believes him and adores his father’s Kenyan thesis. Well, I don’t. I happen to believe that working for a living gave me self-sufficiency to pursue my dreams, notably a wife, a family, and some fun.

Watch this short video, put together by someone who is genius in graphic arts. Most likely this person didn’t let health care get in his way of creating an entertaining and insightful lesson in economics.
