The Crazy Un-affordable Care Act

Bill Clinton’s comment this week about Obama Care being a crazy system is shocking to me. Although he is 100% accurate in his assessment of the problem, i.e. giving low income people health care insurance at the expense of higher income people who can no longer afford it. I wrote about this during the time the Congress was setting us up for the kill. At the time, the country was living in a drunken stupor about the wonders of socialized medicine. Now we have a situation where those who were able to afford insurance can no longer pay the exorbitant fees attached to it, but those who previously couldn’t afford it now get it almost free.

During the build-up to Obama Care, Bill Clinton stood before the American public and proclaimed that Congress should pass anything no matter how bad, and then fix it after the fact. I guess by calling the ACA a crazy system he is saying it is time to fix it.

There is more news on this front. I watched Ezekiel Emanual the architect of the ACA in an interview with Megan Kelly. She asked how the ACA will deal with all the people who opted to pay the penalty because it was cheaper than paying for the insurance? His answer was quite simple, they will fix that by raising the penalty. In another question he was asked if he felt ACA was in a death spiral. He didn’t answer the question, but squarely placed blame o the current problem on Senator Marco Rubio who was responsible for cutting a key provision from the bill designed to bail out the insurance companies if it became necessary. Wow, the Congress did do something in the past eight years. By the way, Senator Rubio merely wrote the provision out of the bill, it was voted on and approved by the entire Congress, that included Democrats as we’ll as Republicans.

Dr. Ezekiel (I fondly refer to him as Dr. Death because he is the one who invented the death panel) also bragged about how the government is already benefitting by reduced health care costs of a trillion dollars because of the ACA. It is my opinion that if a trillion has been saved it is because of all the people who are paying high premiums with very high dollar deductible policies. The bottom line: Health care costs are still spiraling out of control no matter what Ezekiel says, about the same number of people are uninsured today as were before, except they are now different people, and the government controlled health care system called the VA is in trouble because of a top heavy bureaucracy, and poor management.

In the second Presidential Debate last Sunday, Hillary argued the Republicans want to repeal the bill and start over, she was in favor of keeping it and living with the nightmares. In fact she commented “what do you want to do, hand it back to the insurance companies?” Excuse me Hillary, but back when most Senators were holding townhall meetings to sell the ACA to their constituents, my Senator, Tricky Dickie Durban, opted out of town halls because he was holding very important meetings with Insurance companies. To me that smells like a government collusion with the insurance companies already.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

This story is hard to believe, but is probably very real.

**************************

I’m a 54-year old consulting engineer and make between $60,000 and $125,000 per year, depending on how hard I work and whether or not there are work projects out there for me. My girlfriend is 61 and makes about $18,000 per year, working as a part-time mail clerk.

For me, making $60,000 a year, under ObamaCare, the cheapest, lowest grade policy I can buy, which also happens to impose a $5,000 deductible, costs $482 per month. For my girlfriend, the same exact policy, same deductible, costs $1 per month. That’s right, $1 per month. I’m not making this up. Don’t believe me? Just go to

<http://www.coveredca.gov/>
> the ObamaCare website for California and enter the parameters I’ve mentioned above and see for yourself. By the way, my zip code is 93940. You’ll need to enter that.
> So OK, clearly ObamaCare is a scheme that involves putting the cost burden of healthcare onto the middle and upper-income wage earners. But there’s a lot more to it. Stick with me. And before I make my next points, I’d like you to think about something: I live in Monterey County, in Central California. We have a large land mass but just 426,000 residents – about the population of Colorado Springs or the city of Omaha. But we do have a large Hispanic population, including a large number of illegal aliens, and to serve this group we have Natividad Medical Center, a massive, Federally subsidized county medical complex that takes up an area about one-third the size of the Chrysler Corporation automobile assembly plant in Belvedere, Illinois (per Google Earth). Natividad has state-of-the-art operating rooms, Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fully equipped, 24 hour emergency room, and much more. If you have no insurance, if you’ve been in a drive-by shooting or have overdosed on crack cocaine, this is where you go. And it’s essentially free, because almost everyone who ends up in the ER is uninsured.

Last year, 2,735 babies were born at Natividad. 32% of these were born to out-of-wedlock teenage mothers, 93% of which were Hispanic. Less than 20% could demonstrate proof of citizenship, and 71% listed their native language as Spanish. Of these 876 births, only 40 were covered under [any kind of] private health insurance. The taxpayers paid for the other 836. And in case you were wondering about the entire population -all 2,735 births – less than 24% involved insured coverage or even partial payment on behalf of the patient to the hospital in exchange for services. Keep this in mind as we move forward.
>
> Now consider this, If I want to upgrade my policy to a low-deductible premium policy, such as what I had with my last employer, my cost is $886 per month, but my girlfriend can upgrade her policy to the very same level, for just $4 per month. That’s right, $4 per month. $48 per year for a zero-deductible, premium healthcare policy – the kind of thing you get when you work at IBM (except of course, IBM employees pay an average of $170 per month out of pocket for their coverage).

I mean, it’s bad enough that I will be forced to subsidize the ObamaCare scheme in the first place. But even if I agreed with the basic scheme, which of course I do not, I would never agree to subsidize premium policies. If I have to pay $482 a month for a budget policy, I sure as hell do not want the guy I’m subsidizing to get a better policy, for less than 1% of what I have to fork out each month for a low-end policy. Why must I pay $482 per month for something the other guy gets for a dollar? And why should the other guy get to buy an $886 policy for $4 a month? Think about this: I have to pay $10,632 a year for the same thing that the other guy can get for $48. $10,000 of net income is 60 days of full time work as an engineer; $48 is something I could make collecting aluminum cans and plastic bottles, one day a month.
>Are you with me on this? Are you starting to get an idea what ObamaCare is really about ObamaCare is not about dealing with inequities in the healthcare system. That’s just the cover story. The real story is that it is a massive, political power grab. Do you think anyone who can insure himself with a premium policy for $4 a month will vote for anyone but the political party that provides him such a deal? ObamaCare is about enabling, subsidizing, and expanding the Left’s political power base, at taxpayer expense. Why would I vote for anyone but a Democrat if I can have babies for $4 a month?
For that matter, why would I go to college or strive for a better job or income if it means I have to pay real money for healthcare coverage? Heck, why study engineering when I can be a schlub for $20K per year and buy a new F-150 with all the money I’m saving?
>
And think about those $4-a-month babies – think in terms of propagation models. Think of just how many babies will be born to irresponsible, under-educated mothers. Will we get a new crop of brain surgeons and particle physicists from the dollar baby club, or will we need more cops, criminal courts and prisons? One thing you can be certain of: At $4 a month, they’ll multiply, and multiply, and multiply.

ObamaCare: It’s all about political power. Remember folks, November 2016 is just around the corner. If you want to continue this kind of redistribution of wealth, then don’t “forward” this email. But if you are sick and tired of the money grab by the current administration, then “forward” this email to everyone in your Address Book. VOTE IN 2016!!!!

. . . and Another Thing Or Two

Back to Hillary’s amazingly delivered speech. She bragged about how Obama had created fourteen point seven million new jobs, but ahem, she failed to mention the 94.7 million people who are out of work. Hillary and Obama seem very content with the fact the the phony unemployment rate is at 4.9%. They also are content knowing that 94.7 million people who could be working have given up looking for one of those sparkling fourteen million jobs she bragged about. I happen to believe a lot of the problems she is trying to solve with all her I believe ins would disappear if people had work. I am really curious as to why democrats are so content with so many people out of work. I think it is because they want equality for everyone and those 94.7 million people are all equally out of work. At the rate we are going it may become one hundred million by the time Hillary finishes her first term, and she will be sublimely happy that she has accomplished the Progressive goal of equal outcomes for everyone, i.e. except for her and her legion of government workers who live fat.

I’ll save another post by griping about something else she brought up as a positive, i.e. healthcare. She proudly boasted that sixteen million people who never had insurance now have it, but failed to mention the thirty-three million who are still uninsured because the cost is too high, and they don’t qualify for government assistance.

Half of the twenty-three ACA Exchanges went belly up this year because they weren’t able to make money. We are now faced with a country full of uninsured people who need healthcare but can’t get it because the ACA can’t handle them.

I hope by now you got the drift of my posts, i.e. a vote for Hillary is a vote to send the country into oblivion. What is the alternative, you ask? Donald Trump is your choice.

“But Hillary has eight years of experience in the Senate and he has none.”

Here is an excerpt from an article in the National Review:

“. . . In her eight years in the Senate, just one of Hillary’s bills got enacted into law. This bill designated the U.S. courthouse at 40 Centre Street in New York City as the “Thurgood Marshall United States Courthouse.”

Trump doesn’t have a proven political record to defend, but he can show you his successes on several very large projects. He has enough sense to hire people to do things that he doesn’t know how to do, and he sure as hell doesn’t believe big government is better than good old American entrepreneurship. His ideas may seem wild in foreign policy, but what have we to lose? His policy to put the brakes on Syrian refugees allowed into the country cannot be worse than those of the Obama Administration who is fighting radical Islamic terrorism by sneaking thousands of potential terrorist refugees into the country in the dark of night.

There is only one way to go and that is up. Hiring Hillary to execute Obamas failed policies is the wrong way to go up.

I’m Pissed

A week ago, my doctor prescribed that I get a medical test to find the cause of one of my many problems. Today, I called the local hospital to schedule the test. A pleasant woman took my information and asked if she could put me on hold for a minute to check the medical necessity of this test. “Sure,” I said. She went away for more than a few minutes. When she did return she apologized and said, “I’m sorry sir, but I am having trouble finding a code for this test. Please hold again while I talk to someone about a code. “Sure,” I said again. Another long silence. Finally she returned and said, “I can not figure out if this test is medically necessary; I will have to fax your doctor for more information. Knowing full well what was going on, I kept my cool and asked “what happens if there is no code for medical necessity?”

“Your insurance will not pay and you will be liable for the cost.”

“Just out of curiosity, what is the cost of this test?”

“It is $1421.40. Do you want me to ask your doctor for the medical necessity?”

“Yes, of course, please do.” I hope my doctor understands his judgement is being over-ruled by a ACA computer. Maybe I should suggest he go back to medical school to learn what new-age medicine is all about.

“Please call us back within a couple of days to learn what the last word is.”

“I will do that.”

All the while the rusty wheels in my head are turning faster, and faster. The Obama Care effect has finally showed up. I suggest to my liberal friends who brag about the free medical care they got by voting for Obama, be aware. When you reach my age or older, they put you on the medical unnecessary list. Just take an aspirin and skip going to the doctor for help. You no longer matter enough for Uncle to spend money on you.

No one heard the facts when the Obama Care fiasco ran through the country like an Ebola virus gone wild. All they heard was “free.” The one fact I heard is that Obama stole 500 billion dollars from the Medicare fund toward the Affordable Care Act. What grinds my ass is all the talk about healthcare being a right. Just today, I heard Joe Biden mouthing about healthcare being a right. What also grinds my ass is all the bull shit about equal rights for everybody; except, that is, for the aged. Free health care for the aged means when you are over 75 you should schedule yourself to die because you will begin to cost Uncle some serious money. If there ever was an argument for age discrimination the ACA is it.

So, my liberal friends, enjoy your free healthcare while you are young and healthy. I hope it is everything you ever dreamed of, and keeps you alive and well until you become 75.

Just In Case

stock-photo-businessman-foot-about-to-tread-on-someone-s-dreams-concept-for-broken-dreams-bullying-or-173113400

you forgot, or never knew . . .

Here is what happened on January 1, 2014 :

Top Medicare tax went from 1.45% to 2.35%

Top Income tax bracket went from 35% to 39.6%

Top Income payroll tax went from 37.4% to 52.2%

Capital Gains tax went from 15% to 28%

Dividends tax went from 15% to 39.6%

Estate tax went from 0% to 55%

Remember this fact: These taxes were all passed only with democrat votes, no republicans voted for these taxes.

These taxes were all passed under the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare.

****************************************************************

Of course if you are in the 48 % of the country that doesn’t pay tax then this doesn’t mean anything to you.

If you are in the 52% that have a job, and or have a nest egg then all of the above affects you.

Elections are coming!

Take our country back!

Mind Numbing Liberal Nut Job

This morning I awoke bright-eyed and bushy-tailed ready to tackle the world. As I awaited Peg’s entrance for breakfast, I scoured the I-Net for news. One article caught my attention. This story involved Obama Care and the man who invented most of its ridiculous Senior Citizen care plans. His name is Ezekiel Emmanuel, his brother Rahm Emmanuel is former Chief of Staff for Obama, and current Mayor of Chicago. By far Ezekiel is loonier than the entire Obama Administration put together. His take on how long he believes he wants to live is just stupid. He is a doctor who went through years of schooling, yet he does not have an ounce of common sense. Why we would entrust this man to author the national health care act is mind-boggling. Actually, it isn’t mind-boggling when you remember he is a liberal. Yes, he has some weird liberal ideas, and they are all in the Affordable Healthcare Act we fondly refer to as Obama Care. Read the linked article to see what I am talking about. He is at his finest moment in this piece. I’m positive he set the liberal world on fire with his mind numbing philosophy on the age at which he wants to die, and his reasons for it.

Read the article and watch the video. Tell me which 75-year-old you want to be, Ezekiel or Fritz?

******************************************************************

“Ezekiel Emanuel is one of the nation’s premier Obamacarians. He has the president’s ear. He is for health care rationing. And now, he wants us to die at 75.”

“He doesn’t put it quite like that, writing in the first person. But make no mistake: That is his essential message. From ”Why I Hope to Die at 75,” in The Atlantic: : ” Read More

Personally, I hope his wish becomes a reality for him. In his case even fifty years is way too much time to spread Progressive BS.

I would sooner watch a great speaker like Fritz Coleman and laugh my aged ass off than to pull the trigger. My Dad lived to ninety-two and as broken down as he was he loved his life. Maybe Ezekiel is a closet Muslim, and secretly he desires to have a bomb taped to his chest with a trigger set for the moment he reaches 75.

Watch Fritz give his talk. It is funny, but it is hilarious if you are at the age Ezekiel wants to die.
