Oh Sweet Jesus What Do We Do?

Charley Rangel made a plea to Christians today. He asked them what Jesus would do about the debt ceiling?  I am a Christian and It is my opinion that Christ is a conservative. Jesus told Charley point-blank to stop spending, cut taxes, and drop sinful regulations.

Rangel cited the Good Samaritan as his reason for continuing to spend.  The good Samaritan left the innkeeper with a small sum money and told him to take care of the badly injured man who could not take care of himself. The Samaritan told the Innkeeper he would pay expenses over that which he gave him for the care of the man. Jesus never expanded the story beyond that. He did tell the man challenging him to “love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

I take that to mean that if I love myself enough to take care of myself without government aid, then that is what Jesus would want for all of us. Jesus would also want us to help severely injured and sick people who could not care for themselves. He would want us to pull a person away from harms way. He would want us to give CPR to someone having a heart attack. Our paramedics and emergency rooms do plenty of that. Would Jesus want us to sacrifice our living to feed those who won’t feed themselves?

We continue to give our fellow-men aid to help them out of their situation, but we do not teach them to fish. I recall a story about a woman who was being moved out of public housing into a lesser apartment. She was upset and told reporters that she had been on public aid for thirty years and deserved something better than the place she got. Shame on us for not learning that our failure is teaching generations of people to rely on the government for life because that aid  is easier to come by than an education or a  job.

The Gift (A serial, part 7)
” Let’s add the tinsel. It adds glitter to a tree,” he told the birds.
“We have to hang each strand carefully. I don’t want Connie to look like the bird nest that is in the top branches near the trunk.”
Morty placed an ornament into the nest. As they hung the strands they continued to hum Silent Night. When the last strand was in place, They stood back and admired their creation. It was Morty’s gift to the Baby Jesus on His birthday. Morty switched on the lights, and Connie came to
life.
“I feel so wonderful,” said Connie, “you made me look beautiful. I hope Baby Jesus likes me.” Morty said to rabbit,  “cover the tree stand to add the final touch.”
The next job was to assemble the nativity scene in a special place. Morty picked a small table right next to the tree. He wanted the nativity to be where he, and all of his friends would easily see it. He cleaned the table, and covered it with his best tablecloth. Lovingly, he placed the stable, and the figures into position on the table. He handled each figure with special care and gentleness. The nativity was complete when Morty put the last lamb near a kneeling shepherd.

The Gift (A serial, Part 5)

The scoot home took a long time because the Covert farm was a long way from the town where Morty lived. He deliberately kept Skye out of hyper-drive, and drove slowly to keep the little tree from tearing off. They talked as he drove. Connie told him about when he was a seed, and grew quickly into a sapling. Farmer Jim re-planted him into the field where his great, great, great, great-grandfather grew up. He survived a drought, the heat of summer, and cold winters. When it snowed, his limbs sagged to the ground.

Connie’s favorite job was to host families of birds. The cardinals and chickadees picked his boughs to build their nests. They collected material from all over the farm. Red Cardinal, and his wife Rosy made hundreds of trips to the tree. Red brought pieces thread, and tiny twigs, one by one, and Rosy wove them into place. She went to the pond to make mud to hold it all together. They picked a spot about half way up Connie’s trunk in a spot that hid the nest from view.

Connie told Morty how he loved to watch the cardinals flying back and forth to feed their babies. The babies slept between meals. They chirped loudly when their parents came with food. Once a cat came into the field near Connie. Rosy covered the nest with her body, and spread her wings to hide her chicks.

Red buzzed the cat to get its attention away from the babies. Connie dropped his boughs over the nest to give the birds more protection. They all sat very still while the cat was there. All the trees in the field watched in deadly silence as the cat stalked with his head low, and his shoulders in a hunting crouch. After what seemed like an eternity of stillness and quiet, the cat finally wandered off in another direction.

Morty arrived home after dark. He untied Connie’s branches and set him upright into a bucket of water.

“Tomorrow,” he said, “I will place you into a tree stand, and dress you for the birthday party. Now it is time for all of us to rest.”

Why Do You Like Obama So Much?

I can’t express this theme often enough or hard enough, but taxes are evil in the disguise of moral platitude. I began this new president’s term by giving him the benefit of the doubt. I told myself, that as a Christian, I must love my fellow-man.  As Obama began to expose himself, I saw the evil in his soul. My early posts as a blogger warned about how I saw him as a socialist, and worse yet, a communist. His slick rhetoric hypnotises the masses with words that roll off his tongue in lyrical melody. The rythmic motion of his head from side to side lulls one into deeper mesmirism.  Several times, during his speech at the Nobel Ceremony, I wanted to jump up and shout, “AMEN.”

You bought it, and elected him president. Now, we are all faced with the prospect of re-building America back into a great nation. He has, in twelve very short months, undermined the Constitution  upon which the USA achieved greatness.  The bottom line is that in twelve months I have grown to despise the man.

I know you all love him, but I don’t understand why. Is it  because he is so clean as a family man? So was Tiger Woods.  Or is it because he loves his daughters, and his wife?  He appears to  be a good father too. Well, so am I, and so is nearly every dad I have known in my life.  Being a good father should be the norm, not the reason for adulation. The only difference is that this guy is black, and I don’t see too many good black fathers in the news to teach us their values. I know they exist, but what I see most  are welfare kids who don’t know who their fathers are.  Call me a racist, but that perception is what most Americans have about blacks, and that is why they like Obama so much.

Obama’s drive to redistribute our wealth  is placing taxes on everything. He is controlling wages, he wants to control the air you breath, the kind of car you drive, and the  doctor who takes care of you.  He is giving the infamous ACORN  responsibility for over-seeing  banks. What?  Where did that come from? Barney Frank snuck that little nugget  in under the radar of  health-care reform, and cap and trade. So all of you kids going for degrees in Finance can kiss your dreams of becoming an overpaid banker goodbye. How about the “Boob-Tax” for all the girls out there who want breast enhancements? What he left out is a “Booby-Tax” for all the people who voted for him. He missed his opportunity on that one. He should have done it while the “hopium” hypnosis was still in effect.

The U.S.A., land of opportunity for the people of the world, is seen by Obama as a colony of ants working their asses off to please the whims of the queen.  He is dividing us into two societies: welfare, and tax-enslaved. It is his way of repaying the black half of his race for slavery, and the white half  for enslaving his black half.

This president’s hatred for white people is so vitriolic that he will not stop until the “chains we can believe in,” are manacled around our necks.

As a Christian man, I can not stand by and allow that stupidity to further itself, nor should you.
