All It Takes Is a VISA

The following video shows why the world demographics are changing faster than we think. It is also the reason that President Obama’s Foreign policy follows the old adage “If you can’t beat them join them.

These facts also explain why immigration is extremely important to the survival of a culture. I don’t have any negative hangups  about immigration. What I do have is an abhorrence to “illegal” immigration, and the deliberate disregard for the laws we have to control the flux of people coming to live in America.

Here is a synopsis of what the USA immigration requirement is

“A foreign citizen may legally enter the United States of America only if he or she receives a permission from the U.S. government through a valid Visa. There are dozens of different U.S. visa available for different cases to acquire legal admission. You can see the list of U.S. Visas here, both immigrant and nonimmigrant. The visa is usually stamped in the foreign citizen’s passport. The exemption to this basic rule is if the foreign citizen is from a country under the Visa Waiver Program and is eligible to legally enter the United States without a visa. There are currently 36 countries under the Visa Waiver program (VWP). Citizens from these VWP countries may visit the United States without a visa for 90 days as a tourist.

A foreign citizen entering the United States with or without a Visa must be examined by the United States Customs and Border Protection authorities at the Port of Entry. Read on “What Happens at the Port of Entry (POE)?” He must be found admissible into the United States and must be legally documented within the immigration laws. This means he must not fall on the Grounds of Inadmissibility (Denied Admission) into the United States.”

Our current law allows one million new immigrants every year. So what is the big deal about immigration reform? Could it be that our current huge government recognizes it would further screw up immigration just like it has screwed up Iraq, Afghanistan, ISIS, Ebola, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, NSA Spying, IRS suppressing Conservatives, and the Economy?

We could change the demographics dramatically into our favor if our women would refuse to abort over a million babies every year. Imagine the population of America would be at 380 million, or more had we preserved all those lives since Roe v Wade in 1973. what sense does it make to abort a million babies and allow a million immigrants into the country to fill the gap? Stupid is what stupid does.

There are current reports that indicate Obama is planning to give entry to several million people without following valid current immigration laws. Again, his total disregard for following laws that he doesn’t like is a flaunting of his place as President. It is however, contrary to Separation of Powers. His position description dictates that he uphold and enforce the laws. No where does it give him the authority to make new laws, or to change existing laws. Writing laws is the job of Congress, and it is the job of the Supreme Court to decide if the laws comply with the Constitution. As a country of laws it is the president’s job to govern by law and enforce them, not to ignore them because he thinks they are unconstitutional.

Add all these factors together and we have many impeachable offenses with which to throw the man out of office and politics forever.

Imagine the World Without Her

Last Friday, Peggy and I experienced sticker shock by going to the movies. I needed to see the documentary film “America,” produced by Dinesh D’Souza.

“That’ll be sixteen dollars please.”

“What? Do you see this white hair? What happened to the five dollar tickets?”

“This is Friday sir we charge the weekend rates. The five dollar ticket is for Monday through Thursday.”

I quit fighting, paid the money, and went to get Peg her bag of pop-corn. I buy a small bag because she eats one or two handfuls and then quits. I end up eating the rest.  “Six dollars please.”

“What? Would you repeat that I don’t think I heard correctly, I thought I heard you say six dollars.”

“It is six dollars sir.” During the week, I scream at an outrageous price of four-seventy-five for the same bag, and now they want six. Oh well that is capitalism at its finest.

We were the first ones in the theater and chose seats in the second row center. That makes it easy for me to sneak out for a whiz if I need to go. We sat and began watching trailers for new films to come. Peg and I shared the pop-corn. About mid-way through the third trailer, I had to fidget and eased my grip on the pop corn. PLOP! It fell to the floor. I saw my six bucks fly off with wings on it. Luckily I saved enough by carefully picking up the bag; Peg’s few handfuls saved.

The movie America, is an excellent expose of Progressivism and D’Souza points out the background for the Progressivist movement. In a nut shell, liberals hate colonialism, and that hatred permeates our society with arguments based on the premise that colonialism is theft. He briefly mentions that Obama’s father hated colonialism because his home country of Kenya was a British colony. Obama senior served as advisor to Jomo Kenyatta who ruled Kenya after breaking away from Britain. Unfortunately for Barack senior, Kenyata quickly saw through Obama’s scheme and fired him. (Evidently the Kenyans are much smarter than Americans.)

Here are some of the progressive arguments:

1. America stole the land from the native Indians.

2. Americans prospered on the labor stolen from slaves.

3. America stole land from Mexico.

4. America thrives on capitalism which steals from the average person to make business owners filthy rich.

5. America based its foreign policy on stealing resources (oil) from the mid-east.

The film very expertly examines the basis for each of these arguments then turns to debate each with sound facts. I have used many of the same arguments deduced from the faint knowledge of history that I have and some common sense. The problem is that the liberals teach their arguments in high school and college, and a Howard Zinn textbook is now used by fifth grade teachers. Zinn is most notorious for writing history textbooks that explain history from the viewpoint of the common man. Zinn does not offer a second viewpoint in his books, so our kids learn history from the viewpoint of socialism. In the film, a colleague of Zinn from the same school absolutely refutes Zinn’s perspective of history. (I wondered why this guy didn’t speak up about Zinn to University leaders. It must be the mindset of college professors to leave each other alone under First Amendment rights.)

During his defense of stealing land from Mexico, Dinesh interviews a young man of Mexican descent who lives in the U.S. on land purportedly stolen from his ancestors. The man loves America and has no desire for his state to be returned to Mexico. In fact he argued that the current Mexicans are upset that the U.S. gave back half of the land they conquered during the Mexican-American War of 1846 and paid the Mexicans for the other half. Had the U.S. kept all the land native Mexicans would have the same outcome.

America, kept me riveted to the screen from beginning to end, and I recommend  everyone see the movie. I especially liked the rock version of the Star Spangled Banner played by Madison Rising. It was a perfect way to end the course.

Yesterday, I sent a letter to each of my high school aged grandkids with a flyer for the film and a twenty-dollar bill. I asked them to take a friend to see America.

D’Souza left me disappointed in one aspect. In his intro to the film he asks us what would the world be like if there was no America? I didn’t see the answer to this question anywhere in the movie. I expected to see a version of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” where we see the outcome of North America had the American Revolution not succeeded. I’ve been thinking about the question ever since, and will write an essay based on my own visions.

Black Band of Mourning that Very Few Know About.

Enclosed is an accurate account of what transpired in Afghanistan On September 14th, 2012. On September 18, 2012 the President partied with Letterman, Jay Z, and Beyonce. Our current foreign policy emboldens the enemy. Anyone who thinks the Muslim world is not our enemy is not thinking clearly. I cannot divulge the source of this report for fear of repercussion to  the individual involved. All I can say is that it is reliable.

Late on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, a Taliban insurgent force attacked the NATO ISAF base, Camp Bastion, in Afghanistan, resulting in the worst loss of U.S. airpower in a single incident since the Vietnam War. Two Marines, including VMA-211’s commanding officer, were killed in the attack, and nine other personnel (eight military and one contractor, reportedly) were wounded. By the time the base was secured roughly five hours later, six U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) AV-8B+ Harrier “jump jets” had been destroyed, and two more “significantly” damaged. In addition, three refueling points were destroyed, and six “soft-skinned” aircraft hangers were damaged to some degree. As a result of this attack, the air strength of Marine Attack Squadron (VMA-211 – “The Avengers”) was almost completely destroyed.

 

Camp Bastion is a British-run ISAF base in Helmand Providence northwest of Lashkar Gah, built adjacent to Camp Leatherneck (the primary USMC base in the area) and Camp Shorabak (run by the Afghan National Army). Equipped with a 3,500-meter (11,482 foot) runway and servicing up to 28,000 personnel, it is the largest British base in Afghanistan. One of them, on Sept. 14, was an AH-64 Apache crewman named Capt.“Wales,” otherwise known as Harry, Prince of Wales. Along with the British Apaches and other U.K. aircraft, Camp Bastion also provides basing for USMC aviation units, including VMA-211, the only Harrier squadron then in Afghanistan.

 

The attack on Camp Bastion began at around 10:00 PM local time, when about 20 Taliban fighters approached the perimeter, disguised in U.S. Army battle dress uniforms. One of the Taliban used his explosive suicide vest to blow a hole in the perimeter fence, which reportedly allowed three five-man squads into the secured areas of the base. Armed with AK-47s, RPG-7s and explosive suicide vests, the Taliban fighters flooded into the U.S. area known as Camp Barber.

 

As they began to attack the flightline areas, the Marines react within minutes to defend the area.  They established an Apache helicopter that immediately began to orbit over the camp.  In addition, the ground security force began to fight its way toward Camp Barber over the main runway, reportedly expending around 10,000 rounds of ammunition in the process. It took almost five hours to secure the base and police up the insurgents.

 

When the sun rose the next day, the deadly cost of the Taliban raid began to be seen. Fourteen of the 15 attackers were killed, along with two of their support force outside the fence. One insurgent was wounded and captured, and is providing useful information on this latest “Green on Blue” Taliban attack. The Allied casualties, however, are proving heartbreaking. Killed during the attack were Lt. Col. Christopher “Otis” K. Raible, USMC (the commander of VMA-211) and Sgt. Bradley W. Atwell (from Marine Air Logistics Squadron 13), both based at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma, Ariz.

 

Maj. Gen. Gregg Sturdevant, USMC, commander of Marine Aircraft Wing Three (Forward), has announced that replacements for the lost aircraft and personnel will be “brought forward,” suggesting VMA-211 will be reconstituted in place. While VMA-211’s executive officer, Maj. John “Strut” Havener, USMC, has been named the interim squadron commander, it is possible another Harrier squadron will be deployed and the Avengers returned to their home base at MCAS Yuma.

 

Whatever the organizational outcome, the Sept. 14, 2012 attack on Camp Bastion is arguably the worst day in USMC aviation history since the Tet Offensive of 1968. The last time VMA-211 was combat ineffective was in December 1941, when the squadron was wiped out during the 13-day defense of Wake Island against the Japanese. Eight irreplaceable aircraft (the AV-8B has been out of production since 1999) have been destroyed or put out of action – approximately 7 percent of the total flying USMC Harrier fleet. Worse yet, the aircraft involved were the AV-B+ variant equipped with the APG-65 radar and AAQ-28 Litening II targeting pods – the most capable in the force. Given the current funding situation, it’s likely that the two damaged AV-8Bs will become spare parts “hangar queens” and never fly again. A Harrier squadron commander is dead, along with another Marine. Another nine personnel have been wounded, and the nearby Marines at Camp Freedom are now without effective fixed-wing air support. The USMC’s response to this disaster will be a telling report card on its leadership and organizational agility.

When a flag had draped a coffin
