True Hero

North-Heroes_Proved_horiz

The name Oliver North came to my attention when he was implicated in the Iran-Contra affair during the Reagan presidency and forced to resign. Tho He came across like a true marine, tough, honest, and dedicated to America. North was among the first to name radical Islamist terrorists.  Oliver North is a decorated Marine and recipient of the SIlver Star, Bronze Star, and two Purple Hearts. In addition to being so decorated as a military man he is also a novelist. I was not aware of that until a fellow blogger recommended this book.

The story of Heroes Proved takes place in the year 2032, just twenty years from now. The transformation begun in 2008 by Barack Obama has evolved more completely. The current president, a woman from the Progressive movement, is a real bitch. Her number one aim as the most powerful leader on earth is not the state of the country but rather winning the next election. Her focus is on getting to fund-raisers.

The story opens when a terrorist group pulls off a successful bombing, and kidnapping in Houston. I would have thought in twenty years the Transformed USA would have eliminated terrorism in the world. It is not so, in fact, terrorism has spread into many new groups and countries. The world is somewhat ruled by the United Nations, but rather weakly at best. Oil is still in big demand and the Houston attack has sent oil soaring toward five hundred dollars a barrel. Gasoline at the pumps is six dollars a gallon.

North’s story covers terrorism, the twisted administration of a woman president, drug cartels, a nuclear Iran, and some very dedicated ordinary people who become the main characters. Technology has progressed to supreme states in identifying and tracking us no matter where we are. People have tiny electronic id’s implanted in them. You know, like those used by Veterinarians to track a lost pet. Facial recognition identifies anyone captured on corner cameras posted everywhere within minutes. In other words, the Progressive Transformation of the USA has made us into a total spy state, all under the guise of keeping us secure.

The story switches between the search for the perpetrators of the attack on Houston to finding the kidnapped scientist, to the citizens who plot to find and rescue the scientist, and the sinister woman president on her quest for re-election.

North lost me a bit with his use of military acronyms, but the characters are mostly ex-military and government employees who tend to speak that way. At the end of book, I found a fifteen page glossary of terms which he used to tell the story. Had I known it was there, I would still be reading because of the many times I would have referred to the Glossary. Instead, I formed a picture in my mind of what the devices were and continued reading.

As is usual I found the first fifty pages very slow as the characters developed I also found it confusing as the acronyms overwhelmed me. After that, the read went into high gear and it became a “I can’t put it down” story. I did just that, I spent two nights reading instead of playing solitaire in front of the TV. I got to the point where all was going well, and I began to feel the warm glow of a happy ending coming, and then it happened. Oliver North delivers a last chapter that will take your breath away, and change any opinion you may have of about who the real enemy is.

Unhappy, Unhappy, Happy, Back to Unhappy

The Happy People

The Happy People (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

My good buddy Jim from high school and college days sent me this, and I am still laughing. I am an Islamaphobic so this rings my bell with truth. If you are the sensitive type or a liberal don’t read any further, but you will miss a piece of wisdom that may open your mind.

THE MUSLIMS ARE NOT HAPPY!
They’re not happy in Gaza ..
They’re not happy in Egypt ..
They’re not happy in Libya .
They’re not happy in Morocco ..
They’re not happy in Iran …
They’re not happy in Iraq ..
They’re not happy in Yemen …
They’re not happy in Afghanistan .
They’re not happy in Pakistan ..
They’re not happy in Syria ..
They’re not happy in Lebanon ..
SO, WHERE ARE THEY HAPPY?
They’re happy in Australia .
They’re happy in Canada .
They’re happy in England ..
They’re happy in France ..
They’re happy in Italy ..
They’re happy in Germany .
They’re happy in Sweden ..
They’re happy in the USA ..
They’re happy in Norway ..
They’re happy in Holland .
They’re happy in Denmark .
Basically, they’re happy in every country that is
not Muslim and unhappy in every country that is!
AND WHO DO THEY BLAME?
Not Islam.
Not their leadership.
Not themselves.
THEY BLAME THE COUNTRIES THEY ARE HAPPY IN!
AND THEN; They want to change those countries into
THE COUNTRY THEY CAME FROM WHERE THEY WERE UNHAPPY!
Excuse me, but I cannot help wondering…
How damn dumb can you get?
Everyone wonders why Muslim
Terrorists are so quick to commit suicide.
So, let’s have a look at what the probable causes might be:
– No Christmas
– No television
– No hot women
– No football
– No pork chops
– No hot dogs
– No burgers
– No beer
– No booze
– No bacon
– Rags for clothes
– Towels or tablecloths for hats
– Constant wailing / howling from some Muslim in a tower!
– More than one wife
– More than one mother in law
– You can’t shave
– Your wife can’t shave
– You can’t wash off the smell of donkey
– You cook over burning camel shit
– Someone picks your wife for you
– and she smells worse than your donkey
Then they tell you that “when
you die it all gets better”?? ?
Well no shit Sherlock!…
It’s not like it could get much worse!

It Is Not His Red Line

The debate about what to do with Syria is fascinating. There are so many scenarios to play out and to plan for, but the one that will happen is most likely the one never planned. In my mind this is simple. The President drew a red line and boldly declared that Syria must not cross it or face the consequences. Today, I heard Obama back track and say it was not him who drew the red line, but the world. He referenced the Geneva Convention after WWII when world leaders outlawed gas warfare. Obama is correct, the Geneva Convention prohibits gas warfare, but he is also wrong. He spoke the words, and drew a fresh red line for Syria. Now he is afraid to act.

I said it was simple, and it is. The “shot across the bow” is a hand slap. Our strike must make believers out of Syria, Iran, Iraq, Russia, and Pakistan that we mean business when you violate the no gas warfare rule. We must send a signal significant enough to scare the living bejesus out of the entire world. Rather than a slap on the hand, a ferocious kick in the ass is in order. A kick that is fierce enough to make the world think hard and long before they try any more gas attacks.

The problem I see with this approach is that it relies on sound intelligence that the Syrian Government is really the perpetrator of the gas attack. Our Secretary of State is proclaiming that our intelligence is showing us that the attack is directly attributable the Syrian government. I for one, don’t really put much faith in our intelligence since they have blown so many things, like Benghazi for one. There are also several factions rebelling against Syria, that anyone of them could have pulled the attack off. There are rumors that the CIA, Israel, and Al Qaeda all did it. So, who did do it? I cannot believe a leader of a country will perpetrate such an atrocity on his own people. It would be like believing that Obama gasses New York because it is to his advantage. I’m not buying into it. As much as I dislike Obama, I can’t believe he can commit such an atrocity.

Let him who is free of sin cast the first stone.

Me the People

One word jumped out and slapped me in the face during the debate on foreign policy last Monday, “me.”

President Obama was making a point about his position on a nuclear Iran when he said this:

“They can take the diplomatic route and end their nuclear program or they will have to face a united world and a United States president, me, who said we’re not going to take any options off the table.”

Did he really need remind us that he is the president?  Doesn’t the office speak for itself? That one word slipped into the sentence, a word not needed exposed the true character of this man. His ego is as large as China. It is baffling why the addition of the word “me” into his argument made it any stronger. Except, that he was trying to demean us with his power as president. Maybe he was trying to insinuate to the Iranians that he got Bin Laden and he will get them too. It is a mystery.  Perhaps someone will be nice enough to help me figure it out.

From a highway somewhere in America

“. . .  and certainly not Me the People.”

Wake Up and Smell The Democracy

Money, apology, and tolerance for Muslim terrorists.

Shades of 1979. I can’t believe we have a Liberal President and the Muslims have attacked our Embassy’s.

Back when Jimmy Carter presided, the Iranians built up the courage to stand up to a weak US President and stormed the US embassy in Tehran. That time they overran the embassy and took the staff as hostages. They held them for 444 days. Immediately after Ronald Reagan took office Iran released the hostages. Why do you think that might have happened? I would actually like to hear the liberal spin on that. Most likely they would say Iran released the hostages were because of all the negotiations that went on during the 444 days. The diplomacy just happened to become successful as Carter left the office.

My own opinion is that the Iranians were scared shi_less as to what Reagan might do to them if they didn’t let our guys go.

Examine the history of the Muslim world and you will learn that their tribes were always ruled by very strong chiefs. The Muslims constantly invaded Eastern Europe trying to conquer the civilized world. My grandfather came from Hungary and told us stories about the Turkish invasions into his country. He proudly proclaimed the Hungarians as the ones who drove the Muslims back to their own turf sometime around 1878-1900. My Grampa Jim was born in 1876. Look at the architecture in Buda Pest. There is a heavy influence remnant from the Ottoman occupation of East Europe.

The Muslim culture responds to strength. They are not a touchy-feely-talky type of people. Tell them, demand from them, order them, that is the kind of talk they respond to. Recall the latest leaders of Iraq, Libia, Syria,Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and who do you come up with? A list of dictators: Sadam Hussein, Muammar Gaddafi, Hosni Mubarak, Yassar Arafat, Bashar al Assad, King Abdullah. All rule by the Koran, a book of very strict and corporal laws. An eye for an eye, beheadings, stonings, hand chopping, and more are all in the rule books for punishment.

The Israelites and Arabs have been in conflict over Palestine for 6000 years, but in 1947 the United Nations divided Palestine into two states, Palestine and Israel, and began the real fun.

Tiny Israel has been formally in existence as a State since 1947. That is sixty-five years. Look at the size of Israel and ask yourself why are the arab countries so worried? Israel is but a dot in the desert. Look at the state of development inside Israel as compared to the muslim states around. The Israelites are free, they have liberty, their economy is capitalism, they have a democratic government. Then look at the arabs countries. They are all living the way they did under the warlords. They have been under dictators. They can only dream about living free.

The big mistake the USA makes is to force democracy on these tribal folks. They only know democracy as a word. They do not have a clear conception of the responsibility it brings and the mechanics involved. The United States evolved into the political society it has called a Republic over several hundred years. It began with the original settlers at Plymouth Rock in the sixteen hundreds. The people worked hard at developing a system of rule. It was not inherited, it was not given to them, they made it happen, they built it. The idea of nation building is so stupid it defies a human understanding. The people of the middle east will not have democracy for another two hundred years. In the meantime they have to struggle with their current forms of government however weak, until they wake up and realize it requires hard work, constant civilized debate, the practice of a rule of law, freedom of religion, separation of church from the state, and personal responsibility.

What is happening in the mid-east today is the result of young people who have embraced the internet. They can see what is going on in neighboring countries and ask themselves why are we so far behind everyone else? They come to America for education, then return to a life of over regulation and frustration.

What the mid-east countries need are strong leaders who will steer them toward democracy by using the strong warlordic history of their culture . The problem is they want democracy tomorrow.
