ISIS or ISIL? Who’s on First?

A few days after ISIS declared itself by invading Iraq their official name Islāmic State of Iraq and Syria hit the headline. Within a week, our beloved President began calling it ISIL. Like many I asked myself why it changed from Islāmic State of Iraq to Levant? Having never heard the word levant before I had to look it up. Interestingly it refers to a region that encompasses the entire mid east. I wondered why ISIS would so quickly change their name? Or, was it ISIS who did it? I’m more certain than ever it wasn’t ISIS but rather our president who did this. He either did not want to get Syria involved or he wanted something bigger to happen.
This week a fellow Old Guy sent me this article explaining why the shift. It is an interesting perspective which I will believe because I know Obama is evil enough to support it.

In one press conference after another, when referring to the Muslim terror super-group ISIS, United States President Barack Obama will use the term ISIL instead of their former name ISIS or current name Islamic State. Have you ever wondered about that? We have.
What makes up the near exact center of the Muslim Levant? Israel.
ISIL stands for the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant. Now, to us Westerners we don’t really make much of a distinction, do we? No, honestly from our perspective it’s all about the same. But how would a Muslim living in the Middle East view it? Just what is the Levant anyway? Let’s take a look.
The geographical term LEVANT refers to a multi-nation region in the Middle East. It’s a land bridge between Turkey to the north and Egypt to the south. If you look on a map, however, in the near exact middle of the nations that comprise the Levant, guess what you see? Come on, guess!
It’s Israel.
When Barack Obama refers over and over to the Islamic State as ISIL, he is sending a message to Muslims all over the Middle East that he personally does not recognize Israel as a sovereign nation, but as territory belonging to the Islamic State.
Now you know why Obama says that he has no plan, no goal, and no stated aim for dealing with ISIS. But he does have a plan, and it’s a really nasty, diabolical one. Obama’s plan is to drag his feet for as long as he can, doing only the bare minimum that Congress forces him to do. His “plan”to buy ISIS as much time as possible to make as many gains as they can.
Listen as Obama painstakingly spells out the letters I-S-I-L so there is no doubt in your mind:
And it’s working.
The Islamic State has garnered millions of dollars, a vast cache of weapons, and in their latest foray have captured Syrian fighter jets. With each passing day that Obama fulfills his stated aim of doing nothing, the Islamic State grows by leaps and bounds. The ultimate goal, of course, has not changed and will never change.
The ultimate goal is the destruction of Israel.
Now you know a little bit more why Obama chooses his words so carefully, and what’s really in a name. Shakespeare had it right.

A Pesky Fly

Have you ever been bothered by a pesky fly? He sneaks into your house while you are not looking and then begins to harass the living hell out of you and your loved ones. Being a tolerant person, you allow the peskyness to continue, but not without a few swipes with your hand to try to catch him. Each time you walk to the door with a clenched fist, open the door, stick your hand out and then open it. Ninety-nine percent of the time you have not captured him. You go back to what you were doing and in a short time there he is again. He lands on your arm, you slap yourself silly, but he is gone again. You sit down to dinner and there he is checking out the goodies on the table. Now, the wife gets into it. “Get that damn fly out of here he is contaminating our meal.”
You finally search for the fly swatter and luckily you find it, but the creäture is gone. Being a cautious person you carry the swatter with you everywhere you go. You prepare to kill the little bastard at first chance. Finally, you relax and sit down for a little TV. Then it happens and he lands on the couch next to you, teasing, taunting, and daring you to make a move. You reach for the swatter, but he is gone. Next he buzzes your face and lands on your head above your eyes. You smack yourself in the face trying to kill him, but he gets away again. You sit waiting with the swatter in hand, and he lands again. This time on the arm rest next to you, Daring, taunting, teasing you to try. You are ready. You move ever so slowly, raising your arm with the swatter. You reach the right position and he is still there, then SWAT. He is gone.
The conflict between Israel and Hamas is much like the fly and you. You want to be civilized, you try your damnedest to save him and keep him, but eventually, things happen that provoke a strong reaction, and what happens? SWAT.
When I look at a map of the mid-east and find Israel it is but a small dot in the middle of an immense sand box. Israel is surrounded by Arabs who want to kill them and wipe them from the face of the earth. Why hasn’t it happened yet? Maybe it is because God is on the right side of this one. Or, perhaps it is because Jews having survived an attempt at their annihilation by Hitler are determined to never ever let it happen again.

What We Are Up Against; Stinkin Thinkin

I was instrumental in establishing the “Israeli National Skin Bank”, which is the largest in the world. The National Skin Bank stores skin for every day needs as well as for war time or mass casualty situations.
This skin bank is hosted at the Hadassah Ein Kerem University hospital in Jerusalem where I was the Chairman of plastic surgery.
This is how I was asked to supply skin for an Arab woman from Gaza , who was hospitalized in Soroka Hospital in Beersheva, after her family burned her.
Usually, such atrocities happen among Arab families when the women are suspected of having an affair.
We supplied all the needed Homografts for her treatment. She was successfully treated by my friend and colleague, Prof. Lior Rosenberg and discharged to return to Gaza .
She was invited for regular follow-up visits to the outpatient clinic in Beersheva.
One day she was caught at a border crossing wearing a suicide belt.
She meant to explode herself in the outpatient clinic of the hospital where they saved her life.
It seems that her family promised her that if she did that, they would forgive her.
This is only one example of the war between Jews and Muslims in the Land of Israel . It is not a territorial conflict. This is a civilizational conflict, or rather a war between civilization & barbarism.
Bibi (Netanyahu) gets it, Obama does not.
I have never written before asking everyone to please forward onwards so that as many as possible can understand radical Islam and what awaits the world if it is not stopped.

Postage Due

Last week my doorbell rang. It was the mailman. He had a postage-due package from my new healthcare provider. I asked him why this particular package required $3.17 to receive. He showed me the metered stamp. It was a third class document, and third class cannot be forwarded to my new address. Hymmph, my healthcare provider considers his detailed book of benefits as third class, I’m in trouble.
The postage due was a benefit I never expected because I met a very interesting man. His name is Henry. Henry asked if I had read his letter to the editor published in last weeks free newspaper. I had not, in fact, I did not receive the paper. Before Henry left to continue delivering mail to his customer’s I learned a lot about him, his political views, his religion, and his family.
Henry came to America from Guatemala. He speaks excellent english and seems very well-educated. He told me he had been a merchant sailor for twelve years, and sailed to many ports around the Atlantic Ocean. He visited many countries. “When I arrived in America the very first time, I knew this is where I wanted live,” he said. “I am part Jewish and went Israel and I would never live there, nor Spain, or anywhere in Europe. I just knew America was my home. I love this country.”
He went on to explain that we have some very bad people coming into the country now, and we need to fix the borders. “I came in and applied legally, I waited, and I became a citizen, but these new people walk across the border and expect everything.” He was not happy with the situation. Then, he said something very surprising. When the current president came into office, Henry and his wife decided to migrate away from America because they do not approve of Obama’s socialist transformation. They visited New Zealand with the idea of moving there. “It is a beautiful country, not like Australia, but we didn’t do our homework before we traveled there. We learned that New Zealand has a socialist medical system like the one coming to America, and we abandoned our plan to move.”
“Where will you go,” I asked.
“In a few years I will retire and return to Guatemala.”
Talk about going full circle, Henry moved from Guatemala to have a happier life, which he found in America, and will return to the life he didn’t like in Guatemala just to get away from America turning socialist.
A few days went by and I found a copy of the Sun City West Independent that he promised to leave me. He circled his letter to the editor. In his letter he addressed the problem of the Post Office losing money. He urged fellow citizens to mail more letters instead of using e-mail and Facebook to communicate. He explained the reason for the P.O. losing money as follows
“But one of the Postal Service’s biggest problem has nothing to do with the mail. Its finances sank in fiscal year 2007, shortly after Congress passed the 2006 Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act. It required the postal Service to start pre-funding the health benefits of future retirees 50 years in advance at a rate of about $5.6 billion a year. No other agency or corporate entity is required to do this. Without this restriction, the USPS would be profitable.”
He is right, it doesn’t make sense to pass a law to make the USPS behave one way when every agency of government rides on the tax-payer without providing any service.
