It’s My Privilege

Vice President Biden;

See how happy I am to pay taxes? I hope that when I’m ready to go to college you will  bail me out.

Successful Tea Party

The Joliet Tea Party was as promised; well planned, a beautifully inspiring program, and well attended. I commend the “regular citizens” who made it happen. The one thing lacking was the barrage of media. There were no rabble rousing reporters asking dumb questions, nor were they present to broadcast their opposing viewpoints. There was a strong presence  of State, County, and Joliet  police. Thank you Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for labeling us as Right Wing Terrorists. I saw the people of Joliet running away from me as I paraded through downtown armed with my sign.

The photos tell the story:

Slavery to Slavery PosterTrickle up POVERTY

What do I want to get out of this day? I want to send a message to the Weasels in Washington that their constituents are tired of them not listening. I also want to wake up the people of this country. They must be made aware of the danger that lurks in the power of our elected officials.

We have a little less than two years until the next election, I want those of us who sat by and watched to  become politically active, and work hard to throw the Weasels out of office.

Want me to name names: Obama, Durbin, Burris, Halvorson, and all Democratic Machine politicians who have become fixtures in their seats.  All of them need to pull their head out of their anus, and clear their brain from the fecal thinking that permeates their policies.

I do not propose a total shift to a conservative government, but I do propose a shift to a balanced government where there can be open debate. Currently we can replace the entire Congress with a rubber stamp, and do the same for a lot less money.

Art

Peggy and I were privileged to see a Steppenwolf production of  “ART ” by Yasmina Reza.  The story takes place in the homes of three men friends who profess to be interested in art. All three, however, have different tastes in what they hang on their walls. The story begins when one of the friends buys a piece of modern art which is a totally white canvas. He excitedly invites his buddy of fifteen years  to see the new acquisition. The friend looks at it, and breaks into hysterical laughter.  “You paid 250,000 francs for that?” he asks in a laugh. The rest of the play centers on the relationship that has developed between three of them. They begin telling truths about each other that have been hidden deep within. Not wanting to hurt each others feelings, the truths have been suppressed, now the painting opens them up. The ninety minute presentation flew by and had us spellbound as the three characters parried with each other revealing secrets harbored for years.  In the end they resolve their conflicts. None of them wants to destroy the bond developed between them. They arrive at a mutual acceptance of each others tastes and belief’s in act of love that took us by surprise.

After the play ended, we stayed for the discussion that followed. One of the actors came on stage and answered questions as well as his own insights into his role. We pyschoanalyzed the play with about a dozen others who remained.

 An evening well spent, I give it five stars *****
