The Can’t Blame Bush For This List

Headed for the Cliff

I resent any president who spends an outlandish amount of time and money to campaign. Our current president has broken records on the amount of money he spent to win the 2008 election. He is planning the same for 2012. The difference between 2008 and 2012 is this time he is using our money. Oh yes, he will claim he uses campaign funds for that purpose, not tax payer money. Every president travels the country to conduct business, and simultaneously attends fund-raising dinners where he gives campaign speeches, but this guy seems to do more of it than his predecessors. The pundits call this the power of the incumbency.

For three years now Obama has denied responsibility for any of his actions. He continues to blame Bush for everything that has gone wrong.

1. Was it George Bush who rammed a fallacious Health Care bill through the Senate and then proclaimed a bi-partisan majority voted on it?

2. Was it George Bush who wrongly taught the Nation that the Supreme Court  cannot overturn a law voted in by a democratic bi-partisan majority?

3. Was it George Bush who signed the Executive Order to ease up on illegal immigrants to give them a chance at citizenship?

4. Was it George Bush who filed suit against the Arizona for passing a law allowing its police to check traffic violators for immigration papers?

5. Was it George Bush who made a pact with Calderon of Mexico to allow a foreign country to file suit against Arizona for violation of immigration law?

6. Was it George Bush who decided not to prosecute Black Panthers for voter intimidation at the polls?

7. Was it George Bush who spoke to the nation about the need for civility at the Congressmen Gaby Giffords shooting, and later divided the nation on the Trayvon Martin  shooting?

8. Was it George Bush who refused to get the Senate to pass a budget for the last three years?

9. Was it George Bush who left the administration loaded with radical advisers?

10. Was it George Bush who ran Fast and Furious?

11. Was it George Bush who made cabinet appointments when Congress was out-of-town to avoid vetting them?

12. Was it George Bush who promised the Russian president that he will have more flexibility after he wins the election?

13. Was it George Bush who apologized to the muslims for burning Korans, but continues to  pay the muslim military psychologist who shot military people dead at Fort Hood?

14. Was it George Bush who sent military advisors into Libya to oust Khadafi?

15. Was it George Bush who made a racially targeted video directly to the black community?

16. Is George Bush attempting to take religious freedom away from us?

17. Is George Bush pushing congress to pay for women’s contraception?

18. Was it George Bush whose lesbian political advisor Hillary Rosen made a direct attack on Governor Romney’s wife, but continues to proclaim that a man’s family is off-limits in a campaign? 19. Was it George Bush who tried to kill Boeing’s move to build a factory in South Carolina because it was a right to work state?

Obama has spent over 1225 days in office and there are probably twice that many times he has blamed Bush for his failures. His legacy is already “The Blame Bush President.”

I deliberately left out any references to spending, unemployment, poverty, unions, the one percent class warfare movement, new taxes, golf, and vacations.

Do you get the drift? Or does this not mean anything to you?

Oh yes, posters like the one below were okay when Bush was president

Stupid Subliminal Message

Image representing GE as depicted in CrunchBase

One of my greatest peeves is watching dumb commercials on TV. The dumbest ads leave me wondering what product they want me to buy. Others are cute scenarios and are funny, but leave me wondering what are they are selling? The most recent commercial to catch my eye is the one where hundreds of people carry a huge extension cord out-of-town looking like a caterpillar.  They arrive on a grassy hill and tilt the three prong plug into an electrical outlet overlooking dark skyscrapers in the distance. The plug goes into the socket but the town stays dark. Then a wimpy young man in a sport coat hauls off and slams his fist into the plug, and wallah, the town lights up.

Cute, I thought, but I can’t tell you what the ad is selling. I do remember the company though, it is General Electric, or GE as we fondly refer to them. Since GE builds turbines for generating electricity, the ad must be about the power of GE filling our need for electricity.

The first time, I saw the ad, I liked the very clever visual. I commend the ad company for coming up with the idea of  all those people lugging this giant extension cord out of a dark town. The people struggle to tilt the three prong plug into the outlet on the hill. The plug drops into the socket, but the town stays dark. It is funny when the fast thinking guy bumps the plug to get the system to work.

By the second and third viewing the ad became more disturbing. Why would a company the size of GE condone such a stupid message? They build turbines for Boeing, Air Bus, and power plants. They do amazing stuff, and have a fantastic record of reliability. At one time they owned the home appliance business. They rivaled Whirlpool for the quality and reliability of  refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves, etc. Not any more. In fact people now avoid GE appliance because of poor reliability. I have owned several GE refrigerators over fifty years, and the newest one has problems. Thankfully, their reputation for turbines is still intact.

The engineer in me began questioning how something as rugged looking as that extension chord can be so sensitive that a bump from a single person can make it work. A message flashed through my mind, if it is so touchy, it is not worth crap. Now when I see this commercial, I think of  the townspeople who  expect their  power company to supply consistent and reliable power with a system that a single soft bump can take down.

Wouldn’t You Like To See. . .

Should Boeing recall the entire fleet of Boeing 747’s used by the president as Air Force One?

It would serve POTUS right to be grounded for his efforts to stand in the way of a great manufacturing company like Boeing from doing what is right for its business.

The  National Labor Relations Board  is filing suit against Boeing to block their move to South Carolina. I wonder who might be behind that move? Let me think, OBAMA? No, it can’t be OBAMA he wouldn’t pull a stunt like that now would he?  Behind the scenes he is pulling strings like crazy to regulate companies to do what he says. I suppose that is the Change that 53% of the  genius people of America voted for.

Boeing is also one of the few remaining manufacturing companies employing thousands of highly technical people. Instead of encouraging the company to build the world’s best airplane in AMERICA, he is blocking  the company from setting up shop in the  “Right to Work” state of South Carolina in favor of IAM union state Washington.. (It figures, South Carolina was one of the original slave colonies.)

With this effort to save the IAM, Obama is pushing hard for Boeing to move all of its plant to China. This is another example of a union warring against a company with the attitude of “we will beat you sucker even if it means you go out of business.”  The UAW did it to the US auto industry, now the machinist union wants to do the same thing. Do you get the feeling I can’t stand unions? I’ll save you the effort, I Can not stand unions.  They may have had a useful life during the industrial revolution, but they are obsolete in a global economy. I’ll clue you in, A chinese machinist doesn’t give a rats ass about how much an IAM guy makes. All the Chinaman cares about is feeding his family. If he can do that by making a dollar an hour, he will, and the IAM will just move on to another company and harass it until it too moves to China.

I’m sorry, but POTUS is a jerk. He doesn’t understand nor care about anything but buying votes. Do you think he cares about the American business? Hell no. He certainly doesn’t care about Boeing even though he appointed  Boeing CEO, Jim Mc Nerney to his Export Council. It appears Mc Nerney may also have to  export  his job.

Supporting American business would get people back to work again. That would mean fewer people depending on Obama for sustenance. That would put a giant crimp into the Hope and Change Nanny State.

Do you want my recommendation to the problem? I’ll give it anyway. Boeing recalls the entire fleet of airplanes at Obama’s disposal, and We the People recall Obama.

Lunatics Strike

Lunatics! Machinsts at Boeing going on strike at a time when great jobs are at a premium.  The machinist union is working over time to send another twenty thousand of their precious few jobs to China. When will these guys wake up? Strikes do work, but after a strike, a wise employer will work diligently to change the company so a strike will not cripple them again. I’ve seen it happen.

I have personally traveled to the far east to seek out machine shops with low costs. I expected to see crude, worn out machines, and many people using hand tools to “carve” the steel. Was I shocked. I saw first class shops with state of the art CNC machining centers being programmed by young well trained machinists. To make matters worse, these trained machinists worked for one tenth the wages of our machinists at home. The quality of their work is outstanding. What was lacking was our ability to spec out a part. If not spelled out, the Chinese take shortcuts we would never dream of taking.

The workers of Boeing are most likely going to vote for a man who promises to create five million new jobs. The government can’t really create a damn thing but another opening in a government office, so why would anyone of sound mind jeopordize a fantastic job. Trust me, once these jobs leave the country, they’re not coming back. Only business can create meaningful  jobs. Yet we work hard to destroy the engine that creates the positions we sorely desire and pine to have back.

Go for it guys, then cry about all the jobs leaving the country, and be sure to blame the government for it.
