Making My Job Easy

America’s Choices

My work is easy when all I have to do is listen to readers and friends who send me stuff. This time, it is from a lady named Tamra. I don’t know her except she visits GrumpaJoesPlace . She sent me such a vivid description of  how she sees America heading that I just opened my sketch book and let my pencils fly.

The theme she describes is a favorite of mine and I have cartooned the idea a couple of times before. I dare not tire of the idea because it rings so true about the direction America is hoping, and changing, and transforming into.

Here are Tamra’s words describing her idea.

“I just watched an obnoxious Obama ad that got me thinking about a great idea for a political cartoon if you’re interested.

It would be of Obama driving a car labeled USA with Biden in the passenger seat grinning from ear to ear.  The road is going DOWN a mountainous ravine.  In the distance is a great city of strong America (or something else).  The car is passing an exit labeled “Romney Ryan” that clearly leads to the city.  Ahead on the road Obama is steering on is a bridge that is out.  You may put warning signs on it.  At the bottom of the ravine are two cars crashed labeled FRANCE and GREECE.  Obama is not looking ahead.  He is either looking at the reader or maybe a celebrity.  He is saying, “It is very important that we continue moving forward.  We should never go backwards.”  (Or something to this effect.)”

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to draft this cartoon.
