Who Follows the Rule of Law Anymore?

Many readers have accused me many times of being a grumpy old man who is combative in his writings and who disengages readers with his sarcastic derogatory comments about his adversaries. First, let me make my point clear. My adversaries are: Progressives, Socialists, Liberals, and Communists, or anything/anyone who even remotely adheres to the ideas expressed by these ideologies.  I am not writing to make you happy and to give you a chance to engage me with debate. There is no debate when your ideas are dead wrong. MY BLOG is not called GRUMPA Joe’s Place because I am a touchy-feely sweet furry, old grampaw.

I know what I am doing when I write these pieces. Many times I am venting my frustration on people who I don’t know. It isn’t that I don’t care about you, I do. It is just easier for me to vent on strangers than on my family. Yes, I have family members that are Progressives. I still love them, but I choose not to fraternize with them any more. In fact, if any of them show up for my funeral it will be as a consideration for Grandma Peggy..

Most of the time, when I write a piece or draw a cartoon that is critical of our President it is because he deserves it. Believe me I am tame when it comes to expressing my opinions in a cartoon. If only our President would try to do something good I could sympathize with him, but everything he does is contrary to what I believe makes this country great.

My life has spanned a period in history which I like to believe has been the finest period in America since its founding. The ideas used to set up this country are very simple. The ideas were given to us by God. Just like the Ten Commandments are ten simple rules to live by they have stood the test of time and they are still valid today. If you don’t believe in living by the ten commandments you are choosing not to live life to the fullest.

My goal since 2008 is to educate and tell people about the evils of Progressives, Socialists, Liberals, and Communists. If what I write offends you perhaps it is because I have touched a nerve deep within you that you have suppressed the fact you are dead wrong.

If you have read this far, I urge you to watch this video of a speech given by a new Senator about the Senate and his colleagues within. I can only say, he is better at telling us the bad news than I am.

I Believe in God

I believe in God. My heroes and role models do too. As I look back on life I can honestly say I only knew one atheist, and that was my grandfather. Toward the end of  his life, he looked out the living room window of his lonely little farm-house in Michigan at the sixty foot willow tree he had planted as a sapling immediately across the driveway.  A storm brewed, the skies were black and roiling, and the wind picked up with a fury. Grandpa Jim watched in awe as the sixty-foot willow tree ripped out of the ground and slammed over next to the house.

He told me that after seeing that tree rip out like a small twig he began to believe there was a God. It is my belief that Grandpa Jim resides in heaven with our Creator and waits for us to join him.

Here is a video of one of my mentors and a true role model.

Oh Sweet Jesus What Do We Do?

Charley Rangel made a plea to Christians today. He asked them what Jesus would do about the debt ceiling?  I am a Christian and It is my opinion that Christ is a conservative. Jesus told Charley point-blank to stop spending, cut taxes, and drop sinful regulations.

Rangel cited the Good Samaritan as his reason for continuing to spend.  The good Samaritan left the innkeeper with a small sum money and told him to take care of the badly injured man who could not take care of himself. The Samaritan told the Innkeeper he would pay expenses over that which he gave him for the care of the man. Jesus never expanded the story beyond that. He did tell the man challenging him to “love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

I take that to mean that if I love myself enough to take care of myself without government aid, then that is what Jesus would want for all of us. Jesus would also want us to help severely injured and sick people who could not care for themselves. He would want us to pull a person away from harms way. He would want us to give CPR to someone having a heart attack. Our paramedics and emergency rooms do plenty of that. Would Jesus want us to sacrifice our living to feed those who won’t feed themselves?

We continue to give our fellow-men aid to help them out of their situation, but we do not teach them to fish. I recall a story about a woman who was being moved out of public housing into a lesser apartment. She was upset and told reporters that she had been on public aid for thirty years and deserved something better than the place she got. Shame on us for not learning that our failure is teaching generations of people to rely on the government for life because that aid  is easier to come by than an education or a  job.

Grumpa Joe’s Prayer for the United States of America!

Happy 235th Birthday America.

One thing strikes me about this photo. The quote from Corinthians “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” It tells me that the basic roots of our country were derived from a concept that is more than two thousand years old.  How can we not be a Christian Nation? Where was Mohamed in 54 A.D. when Saint Paul penned this verse?

Here is Grumpa Joe’s prayer for the United States of America!

Dear God, I thank You for giving us President Barack Hussein Obama. Without him, we would be taking our freedoms for granted. Obama has awakened us to just how  fragile our Republic is, and to how quickly we can lose that which you have granted us; freedom and liberty.

Help us O’ Lord to overcome the hope and change of transformation into a communist socialist progressive world in which human liberty is forsaken for social change that make men slaves to the annointed. Let us renew our faith in God that we might remain free.

Amen
