My Flag Flies Everyday

A week ago I sent an e-mail to my Senators Dick Durbin and Mark Kirk asking them to do something about the border. Sadly, I did not save my message.  Not satisfied with that, a day later I tweeted Durbin to “Close the Border Now!”

Today, I received two responses from the computer, er-uh, I mean from Senator Durbin. Both of them the same. I guess anything border related gets this letter regardless of what else I spoke about in my e-mail. His reply does nothing to address my Tweet to close the border. Senator Kirk has not bothered to reply to any of my messages.

What is interesting is how Durbin shifts blame for our border crisis from himself and Obama to the House of Representatives. His letter explains what is in the Senate bill awaiting approval by the House.

An Answer to an Answer

Time to REboot2

The situation in America has me losing sleep. The only recourse I have to the situation is to write letters to my Senators and Congressman. Last month I wrote to them to stop the madness of allowing all these kids swarming into the country over the nonexistent border between the USA and Mexico. If there is no border where does one start and the other end? An insecure border is an abdication of our sovereignty. We might as well annex Mexico or Mexico should annex the USA. Without borders why do we need a Federal Government? Why are they necessary? Oh, I remember we still need someone to oversee the real government consisting of the EPA, IRS, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Education, etc. all of which are useless money squandering entities. Forget the office of the President his only job is to protect us by enforcing laws but he has abdicated that responsibility along with every other supposed responsibilities he has. The same goes for Congress. They respond only to big money groups like LaRaza, and CAIR. Even the Supreme Court has degenerated into a political arm of the Progressive, Socialist, Communist party of the United States. Their responsibility is to decide if the laws passed by Congress are true to the Constitution, but they chose to re-write the Obama Care law to make it work for them. They should have bounced it to Mars and told Congress to fix it. Using the same example, laws requiring expenditures are written by the House of Representatives. The Senate penned Obama-Care.

Under the Constitution, each of the three branches of government are equal but separate. Currently we see a huge imbalance between the power of the President and the Congress. Congress is taking it in the shorts. Congress should do everything in its power to curb the Presidential power plays of using Executive Orders to write laws, or the Bureaus like the EPA to write regulations that are worse than laws. If you break a law they arrest you and you get a chance with a trial. If you break an EPA regulation the EPA fines you and takes away your paycheck via garnishment and they don’t have to go to court to seek it either.

Anyway, Here is a copy of the response I received this week from Senator Dicky Durbin followed by my rebuttal.

140710-P2-DurbinIMGFinally, here is the letter I posted today. A copy of the letter Durbin is responding to is here. Well, it the same letter only to my Congressman.:

Senator Richard J. Durban

711 Hart Senate Building Washington,

DC 20510-1304

Dear Senator Durbin:

Thank you for responding to my letter of 10 June 2014 regarding the swarm of children flooding into the country without Visa’s. I appreciate the insightful response and gained some valuable information about our system. What I didn’t get is an answer to why we allow these kids to cross the border in the first place. Where is our secure border? Why is it not secure? Why are these kids not being sent back to their home country immediately? We spend money to bus them, and fly them from one US City to another but not to their homes? What could be more humanitarian than to return a child to his parents?

As my Senator, I expect you to be urging, counseling, and even scolding the President to show example to the world by enforcing the laws we have about the rules for coming to the USA. President Obama has recklessly abandoned and choses to disregard the laws for sending VISA-less immigrants back. Yet he sends millions of dollars through HLS to Central American countries to advertise them not to come because of the terrible penalty they will meet. What penalty? How bad is it to be given a court date two years out to state your case, and then be allowed to assimilate into the population living off the system with their incredibly resourceful ability to find Social Security Cards and shirttail relatives?

Since I have not read any news about you communicating strong messages to the President to enforce our laws, I can only assume it is because you agree with the President’s policies making you just as guilty of lawlessness.

In your letter you stated how none of these VISA-less kids is to receive benefits under the laws you cited., but the President is appealing to Congress to approve his request for 3.7 billion dollars for humanitarian aid to these kids. Please clear something up for me. Congress approved a trillion-dollar bailout of the banks to save the country from destruction. Yet, I hear that the banks have paid back the money with interest. Just where is that trillion dollars now? It seems to me that there is a trillion-dollar slush fund hidden somewhere within the buildings surrounding the Washington Mall. My suggestion to you, and the President, is to find this money and use some of it for humanitarian needs within the country.

Also in your letter you very sympathetically state that “Many of these children are escaping their home countries because of the increasing threat of gangs and violence, family abuse, exploitation, and lack of education and economic opportunity “. . . I also suggest you pay attention to the situation in your home state specifically Chicago, where your exact words apply. Where will we send the Chicago kids? To which country will we send our local kids to find a better situation?

Senator Durbin, it is time for you to retire and give the position to someone who will have new enthusiasm for solving problems with ideas that work.

My Flag Flies Everyday

Today, I treated myself to a rare hour by listening to Rush Limbaugh. He commented on the defeat of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s loss in yesterday’s Virginia primary. Rush spent quite a bit on defining the Tea Party. I listened intently as he described my feelings exactly. Rush understands quite well what the Tea Party is. It is not a formal political party, it is people like me who are frustrated by the lack of concern afforded by our elected representatives. We write, we call, we e-mail and they do what they want to do without listening. They spend millions every year on staff to answer the calls, open the mail, etc., just to give us the privilege. They might glance at a report given by the same staff summarizing the number of calls with a summary of topics covered before they trash it and proceed to do what the Progressive donors direct them to do. They are all puppets.

A few years ago, I helped send Adam Kinzinger to Congress as Representative of the First District in Illinois. He showed potential as a conservative, and had the zeal and drive to make a difference. He lasted his first term as a credible voice. After that, I began to notice his speeches sounded more like that of every other Member of Congress. He had been indoctrinated.

Yesterday, I sent out three letters to my Senators and current Representative. I voiced my displeasure with the lack of congressional action to stop the stupidity of allowing the flood of illegals storming across our southern border. My internet connection was down, and I was forced to send the letters by snail mail. I did find one phone number so I called in the letter. I asked the sweet young voice working in Senator Durbin’s office what she would do with the information. She replied she will forward my concerns to the Senator, but that I should still send in the letter. Why? So much for calling my Senator. He might get a report of how many phone calls he got, and what subject they concerned. The report won’t say, “NO AMNESTY” which is what my sarcastic letter was about, sweet young thing will report it as “Immigration reform.” You and I both know that to Congress, Immigration reform is Amnesty.

I sit here frustrated getting anxious and nervous about the many issues facing us and cannot do anything about it but call my Senator who doesn’t give a crap what I think. Every time I hear about someone who walks into his job site to shoot his boss, I don’t even flinch, I understand what that guy is feeling. I feel the same level of frustration while I watch Congress push the lever that flushes the Constitution and the laws of our country down the toilet.

When I first discovered Eric Cantor I thought he was a good guy, a rare conservative in the House of Representatives. Lately, I have come to realize that he is sounding very liberal in his speech about immigration. He lost touch with the people who he represents. Cantor got a clear message but it is too late for him to change. It remains to be seen if the message gets through to Obama, Boehner, Reid, and the rest of Congress.

Here is the letter to my Congressman. Feel free to use it.

Congressman Bobby Rush
2268 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC

Congressman Rush:

Stop the madness now! Our country is being flooded with illegal immigrants and our President has rolled out the red carpet for them. I have lost faith in the President, and my Representative’s ability to govern. Why are you remaining silent on this matter? As Congressman from Illinois you should have a close ear to the President. You should be leading the charge to return the USA into a country that lives by it’s laws.
It makes no sense to me that we have opened our southern border to a wave of immigration, yet we continue to make immigrants who enter from the north, west and east abide by our existing immigration laws. Why? Where is Congress and why are you not keeping the President’s lawless actions in check? In my opinion your refusal to take action makes you just as guilty as the President of violating your oath of office.
Please do not send me an answer that your action will be to grant amnesty to the illegals. Amnesty is not the answer to this problem. The answer is to regulate by enforcing the laws already on the books. If the laws are bad, then why are you not repealing them and replacing them with new ones? In my opinion it is because you lack the character to do what is right for the country.
If the President can’t or won’t stop the madness then Congress must act. If Congress doesn’t have the power to act, then farm the job out to the EPA. They are excellent at regulating. Call the illegals people-pollution and the EPA will make the President write executive orders to enact actions that you will not.
I hope you detect the sarcasm and frustration in the tone of my words, but you are my Congressman and you are the one elected to make the laws that make our country great. Who else do I have to go to, to unload the hopelessness of watching America get flushed down the toilet?
Unlike President Obama I believe America is an exceptional country and that is why people still want to come here to live. I believe in immigration, I am the child of immigrants who entered through Ellis Island, who became citizens, who learned the language, and became Americans. The process works, all we have to do is to enforce the laws diligently.
Get off your throne and push Congressman John Boehner, Senator Harry Reid and President Obama to do what is right. Stop the flood of illegals, enforce the existing laws, deport those who defy our laws and send them back with instructions to follow the process.

Respectfully yours,
