What a Revoltin’ Development This Is

Those of you who know me know that I am a very conservative guy. I believe in paying only those taxes that are lawfully mine to pay. I own firearms and am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. I support legal immigration only. It isn’t that hard to get in folks; play by the rules. I believe DACA is a ploy to weasel more illegals into the country. I hate socialism with a vengeance. Socialists are just communists in sheep’s clothing. I want the wall, and promoted Obama’s shovel ready stimulus of eight hundred billion dollars. It could have paid for walls on the North and South borders in a heart beat, with money left over to rebuild every bridge in America, and people would have gone to work. I believe in personal responsibility, and paying my way. That is how my democrat parents raised me. My parents were democrats because that is what my Dad’s bosses told him he was, and Dad told Mom. The Democrats are for the working man they told him. My parents lived their lives as conservatives. They had to, they came to this country legally through Ellis Island, had sponsors and jobs lined up. Then the Great Depression hit, and had to live on a shoe string. They abhorred “charity” from the government. Toward the end of her life my siblings and I learned that Mom may have been in the country illegally, but that is another story and a good one too. What I am trying to say is that I believe strongly in immigration. My only problem is with “illegal” immigration.

Eventually, I will get to the main point of this essay, bear with me.

Yesterday, my house cleaning crew came. House cleaning is one of those jobs that I refuse to do, so I delegate it to someone else, but they don’t work for free. The crew is a mother and daughter from Mexico. For the past three years that they have worked for me I have always wondered if they were here legally. It has been twenty years since they arrived, I thought at worst they may have been part of an amnesty. I still don’t know. I love to tease the daughter about her work habits, and often ask her why she doesn’t further her education. She never gives me a good answer. She was three when her parents brought her to America. She speaks excellent english without a hint of an accent, but she rattles off Spanish to her mother who still doesn’t speak English well. The Señorita has a good grasp of our government and the Constitution.

These women do excellent work, and Senora’s husband works for a remodeling contractor. Señor has also worked for me painting and dry walling. All of them work like the Energizer Bunny, they just keep on going. The entire family is religious and close-knit with many friends and relatives.

Daughter told me she is going to get a job in 2019. I asked her why when she is self-employed? “Well if I don’t get a job, I will lose my DACA and get put a deportation list.” WHAT? Why are you a part of DACA?”

“My mother thought it would be the best way for me to get a Social Security number.”

The wheels began spinning in my head. Obama invented DACA to allow unaccompanied minors into the country. This young lady has been here for twenty years she is twenty-three now. She wasn’t a minor, nor was she unaccompanied when she arrived. Given that DACA is six years old she would have been sixteen at the time and probably could have passed for younger.

All this is making my head explode. I feel for this girl. At three years old she didn’t come here by herself, her parents dragged her. Being an obedient child she obeys her parents. She is a victim of our government, and a Congress to unable to straighten out the mess, but she is also a victim of her parents. They are living the better life they came here to live; a house, cars, smart phones, and all the amenities of an American family.

What really scares me is how many more kids have signed up for DACA. I don’t think the law intended to include kids who have been here for thirteen years. No wonder the politicians call it a broken system. They have rewritten the immigration law in little dribs and drabs to the point where it is undecipherable and impossible to enforce. Combine that with an open border and the flood gates are open.

Now, here is the revoltin’ development. What do I do? Do I keep things the same? These people have become my friends and certainly do excellent work for me. Do I report them and become the Scrooge of the century? What do I do?  Yes, “what a revoltin’ development this is.”

Based on how easy it was for my friends to come here and to sign on to DACA thirteen years later I’d say the entire country has a revoltin’ development. How many hundreds or thousands of kids have joined the fray making it too big to fail? It’ll take Trump six years to straighten this out because of all the preposterous jack asses in the country who fight against him from every angle. We not only need to drain the swamp from all the government insider freeloaders we have to vote out the entire Congress. I think a shooting war would be easier; another revoltin’ development.

Magots in Government

I was very incensed during the Obama years when he asked to Congress for an 800 billion dollar stimulus for shovel ready infrastructure projects. Neither the Democrats, Rino’s or Republicans gave a shit about what mattered to me, they all lined up waiting to vote for Obama’s second near trillion-dollar gift.

I still ask the question which of the 800 billion dollars went to a shovel ready job? My answer came a year or so later when Obama admitted that there were no shovel ready projects, but it sounded good and the people swallowed the bait. He got what he asked for. Had we spent that money on infrastructure we could have built a fence across both the southern, and northern borders and replaced every rotten bridge in the country, but we spent it on keeping Obama cronies well fed, and millions of people stayed unemployed. Now, these same maggots who call themselves Congressional leaders won’t spend a dime to give a real president what he promised the people. He promised because we the people elected him to do so. I can’t wait for the next election to vote more of these slime balls out of existence.

The border is porous, it is vulnerable, it is easy to cross. We need something more than more border patrol officers and sensors. Sensors work if you stomp across the border and wake them up. Our dear leaders should read a book titled “The Coyote’s Bicycle,” (Kimball Taylor).

The Coyote’s Bicycle is a story about a young kid in Mexico whose family deserts him to take care of his aged grandfather while they all cross the border to a better life. The grandfather dies leaving the kid to fend for himself. At the tender age of twelve he leaves town to find his family. He ends up in a Mexican border town and waits for his opportunity to cross over. He learns that there are men called coyotes who make big money to take people across. He waits and learns the business by watching.

Eventually, the boy becomes a coyote, and makes a million dollars smuggling people into America. He has a secret. He smuggles his customers across the border through the areas where it is too hard to build a fence. He gets past the sensors because sensors listen for foot steps, but they cannot detect the sound of bike tires rolling across. His added advantage is that his customers can move quicker on a bike, and thus avoid border patrols more easily.

Today, I heard Senator Chuck Schumer present a plan for border security. Guess what? All of his ideas are those this young coyote learned to defeat.

When will we learn that democrats don’t have an original idea nor are they capable of thinking of one? All they ever think about is how to entice new voters to keep them employed. It is time we begin to think about how to use the right our Founders left us, i.e. to use our second amendment rights to rid ourselves of the vermin who insist on turning our country into a mindless socialist state.

Deconstruct America?

walkers

I hear the word reform being used by politicians and news pundits almost daily. Most of the time they are discussing the USA immigration policy. Another word they use even more often than reform is broken, “our immigration laws are broken,” etc. The action I see people taking, however, does not fit the definition of reform. For instance, the caravan of 14,000 invaders marching northward from Central America to take advantage of the “broken” system. These soldiers are not reforming America to improve it, they are marching to wriggle in through a crack in the system to take it over.

All of this got me to thinking about how they really want to change America. What the people in organized groups like la Raza want is a deconstruction of America. What do I mean by that? An open border existed from the beginning of time when neanderthals roamed the earth until the day Mexico lost a war with the USA and the outcome was a line drawn in the sand and water dividing two groups of people into two distinct countries. Before that the Spaniards landed on the West coast and decided to civilize the Mayans, Aztecs, Apaches, and all the other native people’s who lived and roamed freely between the territory now split into two. They didn’t need borders because they decided all of the land was theirs. I have to give it to the Spaniards because they left America with a legacy that the natives all love and thrive on, i.e. language, and religion. Yet, the further south one travels from Mexico into the isthmus connecting North to South America we begin to see borders. In that tiny space defined by the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, North and South America there are seven countries all speaking Spanish and living in similar cultures. Going across the Panama canal one enters South America also largely inhabited by Spanish-speaking people. There are borders defining all of these countries. The natives move somewhat freely from country to country without much ado. All one needs is to carry his official identification papers.

Why doesn’t la Raza make a big to-do about all the borders in these territories? Probably because if the natives follow the rules and carry their ID’s they can pass freely. What I don’t understand is why these same natives refuse to follow laws when they move northward. All a person needs to get into the U.S. is a VISA.

Going back to my original reason for this essay, after the border is erased and all remnants of the wall are destroyed Mexican and Central Americans will want their territory back. “The Mexican Cession consisted of present-day U.S. states of California, Nevada, Utah, most of Arizona, about half of New Mexico, about a quarter of Colorado, and a small section of Wyoming.” Now, we’re talking some serious real estate.

To continue the deconstruction of the United States (US) the next move will be to give the Louisiana Purchase back to France. That moves the border to the middle of the Mississippi river. The tribes of North America ( and those from the south would reestablish their warring rivalries as they beat each other up to find food, women, and exercise their warrior status. Right around the same time we negotiated the deal with France we bought some property from Spain called Florida. In our project to deconstruct the US we’ll also have to give Florida back to Spain. Didn’t they own all of North America from Utah south into South America? Gosh they were land hogs?  “The Spanish expression la Raza (literally ‘the Race’) refers to the Hispanophone populations (primarily though not always exclusively in the Western Hemisphere) . . . . ”

I almost forgot, before we go further we should sever Hawaii and Alaska from the Union and give them back to their rightful owners. Who is that? Hawaii was a kingdom when Captain Cook discovered it. Afterwards the islands were settled by farmers from many countries, but most from the US. So we would have to concede Hawaii back to the natives who could reestablish a kingdom and reinstitute their practice of human sacrifice. As an aside, Hawaiians recently voted to dissociate itself from the Union. Voters rejected the idea unanimously.

President Seward made a deal with the Russians to buy Alaska, and paid an outlandish fifteen millions dollars for it. The deal became know as Seward’s Folly. The Russians would gladly take Alaska back from us and use it to threaten us with mayhem of their design.

The next phase of deconstruction will make the “Treaty of Paris officially ending the War of Independence. . . ” null and void. The Treaty of Paris also defined “. . .  the boundaries of the new nation: the Atlantic Ocean on the East; the Mississippi River on the West; Canada on the North; and Spanish Florida on the South.”

The project doesn’t end with the thirteen colonies belonging to Great Britain. We will have to go back to Columbus and remove all traces of colonization by Great Britain, Spain, France, Holland, and other European countries that were greedy for land and power.

What is currently happening is a war between the Spanish colonies and the American colonies. The Spanish legacy continues to spread its language and religion northward.

What I was hoping to do by writing this piece is to define for myself the root cause of the border migration.  It hasn’t really shed any new light on my thinking. One point that is evident is that the Spanish legacy within Mexico and Latin America is very strong. Is it because the people who evolved from the Spanish incursion have a grudge to even? Are they purposefully getting back at the United States for the atrocities committed on them by Spanish conquerors?

Is it racism? the term la Raza (the Race) certainly points to racism as a reason to conquer the border. Certainly in this day of racial division we don’t need another divide, but we have it, and it doesn’t seem to be getting easier to assimilate into one bunch of united and happy people’s. Or is this just one of many ways to pick on the world’s number one country? Leaders have always competed against upstarts that feel they have a better way to lead, govern, expand, enlighten, or enrich.( I deliberately left out pillage, rape, and kill because we are better than that today, or are we?)

At this point in history, the US is being attacked from many angles by ideologies and causes. Which will prevail? The reason America is exceptional is because of its Constitution and the dedication to maintaining it as a system of governance. The liberties afforded our citizens have allowed the country to grow and increase in wealth. We are not locked into socialism which restricts people from expanding themselves. We are free to choose our own destiny by how we do business, how we worship, or how we adhere to our laws.  We choose to  move freely across our state borders without any need for a Visa, passport, or ID’s. our currency is uniform, and our language is uniform. We have some minor cultural differences, but none that restrict any of us from doing what we please.

The USA has invested heavily in infrastructure nationwide, and this has enabled us to expand our businesses and to roam freely about the country. We don’t worry if the water is safe to drink when we move to another state, it is safe. We get the same emergency treatment at hospitals and on the road. We never worry about language barriers, or currency differences. Food is readily available because of entrepreneurs who operate cafe’s or run franchises. Safety is uniformly taught and practiced. Our police and fire departments are noted for their efficiency. The list of reasons why we are a great country is immense.

In the US a single person is defined as living in poverty if he lives on less than $32.87 per day. In Mexico the same person lives in poverty at $5.23 per day, and in Central America that same person lives on $4.00 per day. To me this is the root cause of the  problem. These people are starving and need a meal. They want to come to America out of desperation and need. They really love living where they were born, but between gangs and starvation they take desperate measures to survive, like walking two thousand miles in flip-flops to make it to the promised land. The problem is that they need a VISA and no one has told them that. It is rumored that political factions within the US spread the word that all they have to do is show up and seek asylum. Except, even asylum seekers have rules to follow and they break them when they arrive. Asylum is granted by the first country beyond the one you live in. A caravaner from Honduras has passed through Guatemala and Mexico before he arrives at the US border. As an attempt to appease President Trump, Mexico offered asylum to the group, but only a small handful accepted the deal, the rest are going for the brass ring.

What is the answer? Deconstruct the United States and start all over again. That will transfer the  problem to the nut jobs that are working overtime to destroy the US. The final answer will be equal misery for everyone, except of course the people in charge.

Where Should I Start?

For the past two weeks I have itched to rant about the liberal dialog trying to destroy President Trump. First it was about the so-called Psychiatrist Dr. Brandy Lee who went to Congress to tell them Trump is a “public health risk”.  How she can tell this from watching him on TV baffles me. It is my assessment from looking at one picture of her and reading this one article that Ms Lee is a Obama ass-kisser and a liberal snow flake.  There, we are even. She said something I didn’t like now I’ve countered with an equally stupid comment. I feel better already. Maybe that is why she is saying what she did about Trump, she wants to ease our anxiety over our Trump admiration. As little as eighteen months ago my own spoken words were very negative about our then leader Obama. The difference between then and now is that any liberal who heard me labeled my speech racist and dismissed it, and me. Ms Lee is not caucasian, rather Asian, therefore I will also call her remarks racist.

The second issue to incite me occurred today when Democrats specifically Tricky Dicky Durbin from the Socialist state of Illinois went ballistic because Trump called Haiti a shit hole of a country. All I can say to Durbin is that the truth hurts. He has attempted to explain Trump’s wish to end “chain migration” as racist. I will give Durbin credit for creativity. His interpretation of chain migration is from the time when slaves chained to ships were brought to America against their will. On the other side of that coin, Durbin shows his total lack of understanding of the current immigration term which means one person granted amnesty may invite every relative he knows get into the country on his shirt-tails.

Tricky Dicky is up for election in 2018 so he has formally opened his campaign. Notice, he sat next to Trump during the unprecedented open meeting on immigration. He has been in the Senate long enough to belong to those who should retire because they have been in the office too long.

I have  never heard Durbin speak sensibly. He is a smooth and eloquent speaker, but after I listen to him awhile I ask myself what the hell did he just say? The words flow, but they don’t make any sense. Every time I see him on TV I look for what he is carrying in his right hand, I want to see the carpetbag. Before entering public office Durbin spent time in a law practice and as a teacher, but somehow he has managed to become a millionaire. I don’t know how people can become so rich. I worked my ass off for over sixty-nine years and I am far from a millionaire.

Unfortunately for Illinois, Durbin will get re-elected again. He has the entire democrat machine behind him and a sizable war chest. Republicans in Illinois don’t stand a chance.

A Conservative Learns Some New Facts

The Far Away Brothers is one book which I recommend. It is history, political science and social studies all rolled into one. Auren Markham did a fine job of unraveling the complexities of US policies which did not make any sense to me like DACA. I’ve written a few blog pieces on GrumpaJoesplace.com about how befuddled I was about the thousands of kids migrating to the USA from Central America. How could little kids do that by themselves? That is one of the questions she answered for me. Another question I asked is why did the USA advertise its DACA policy in Central America? Had our administration gone nuts? What she leads me to believe is that our Department of Homeland Security did just the opposite. Why I heard that the USA encouraged Central Americans to migrate is still a mystery, but I think it might have been Fake News that did it.
Markham exposes why kids from El Salvador are leaving in droves. It is simple and it has nothing to do with America. It has everything to do with Central American government’s inability to improve conditions in their countries, their inability to control gangs, and their excessive corruption. Where have we heard that before? In the meantime, the USA in its compassion, and mercy tries to legislate solutions to solve problems that we know nothing about. In my years as an engineer we learned to find to the root-cause. DACA legislation resulted from being unable to reach the root-cause. The frustration of passing laws without knowing what problem the law deals with in a country we have absolutely no intimate  knowledge of. Even if did have intimate knowledge, how would we go about implementing laws in a foreign country to solve their inner problems? Meanwhile the people of Central America look to the North as a place where the ‘streets are paved in gold,’ and look upon the USA as the answer to all of their problems.
All along I wondered how young kids could travel over a thousand miles without any resources. They didn’t, they paid big money to hire a Coyote to get them into the USA. I should say, their parents paid big money by borrowing at ridiculous interest rates ( 20% +) , and expecting their liberated kid to work it off. What they don’t realize is the infinite maze of agencies, and systems legislated to insure only those who seek political asylum qualify, and not easily. Why these same people didn’t pay to get their kids a passport and visa before they paid for the coyote remains a mystery. In the meantime, we Americans swallow the bill to pay for the exorbitant court costs for years of needless red tape. I can now see why groups like La Raza want open borders, and free passage across borders to prevail.
Author Markham tells this story by telling the story of  one family with nine kids from El Salvador whose one son gets in trouble with a gang that threatens to kill him.  His loving parents pay for his escape. After he leaves, his twin brother who looks exactly like him fears the gang will kill him by mistake, so the parents take another juice loan to get the twin out-of-town. The story of their escape and arrival in the US is a mind-boggling drama that none of us would want to live through, but they make it.

I gave this book four stars.
