A  National memorial commemorating the Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan wars has not yet been established, let us honor these brave military people for their service as well, and all lessor war skirmishes that our country fought in.

This video says what is in my heart. I salute every veteran who has protected me and my family since World War II. I owe you all a debt of gratitude.

Home Schooling circa 1950

Ever since the calendar flipped the page to month eleven, and daylight savings time gave me an extra hour, my want to blog has waned. I procrastinate instead of writing and  Santa subjected me to his workshop under his whip. SO, this afternoon, after escaping, I am reading e-mails and the blogs I follow. Then it happened. My Lion friend Mike sent me a list of wisdom which I have seen many times before, but I must share with the blog-o-sphere.

I can attest to having heard many of these admonitions from my parents, and I must confess that I have used many of them on my kids too.

1. My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE. "If you're going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished cleaning."    
2. My mother taught me RELIGION. "You better pray that will come out of the carpet."     
3. My father taught me about TIME TRAVEL. "If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!"    
4. My father taught me LOGIC. " Because I said so, that's why."    
5. My mother taught me MORE LOGIC. "If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to the store with me."    
6. My mother taught me FORESIGHT. "Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident."     
7. My father taught me IRONY. "Keep crying, and I'll give you something to cry about."   
8. My mother taught me about the science of OSMOSIS . "Shut your mouth and eat your supper."    
9. My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM. "Will you look at that dirt on the back of your neck!"    
10. My mother taught me about STAMINA . "You'll sit there until all that spinach is gone."     
11. My mother taught me about WEATHER. "This room of yours looks as if a tornado went through it."     
12. My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY. "If I told you once, I've told you a million times. Don't exaggerate!"     
13. My father taught me the CIRCLE OF LIFE. "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.."    
14. My mother taught me about BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION. "Stop acting like your father!"     
15. My mother taught me about ENVY. "There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do."

23. My mother taught me about my ROOTS. "Shut that door behind you. Do you think you were born in a barn?"

Two Items Become Six

This day has been great. Even though three times bad dreams and visits to the john interrupted my sleep. I punched in early at Santa’s factory and finished a series of baby steps on my latest project. I punched out by two p.m. and had lunch with Peggy. Afterwards I scoured the news sites and cleaned e-mails. The afternoon was late but still sunny, so I asked Peg to go for a ride.

We headed south and east making a huge square around the proposed third airport site in south-east Cook County. The farmers are just starting to harvest the corn and beans. We ended the tour by driving down Aberdeen Road in Frankfort. It is beautiful just as the sun falls below the tree line and casts deep long shadows across the emerald-green lawns. Oh how I miss living there. On our arrival home I immediately went to my mother’s old green covered Hungarian cook book, and found the recipe for Turos palacsinta (Crepe suzettes with cottage cheese). I scoured the frig and the pantry for ingredients and discovered I lacked two items. Off to the grocery store to buy two items. Six items later we left Mariano’s for the kitchen. My stomach told me I should not begin cooking a complicated thing like crepes at seven p.m. The last time I made them was in 2006, or in other words a long time ago. The recipe remained open next to me until I finished. Peg assisted by cleaning and cutting strawberries (item three in the basket) for the topping. We finally sat down to eat by eight o’clock. By the time we ate, and cleaned up the big hand stood straight up and the little hand pointed directly at the nine.

Occasionally I need an ethnic food fix, and the crepes were it today.

P. S. Items four, five and six were a raspberry coffee cake, a pound of thick sliced bacon, and a quart of pistachio mint ice cream. They all had Peg’s finger prints on them.

It Is Called Murder

I suppose I should rant about the health care system, but I have done enough of that and no one listened to me. Now, all those in favor of the ACA have gotten exactly what they deserve, nothing.

My real topic today, is the movie “Captain Phillips.” I read about this incident in 2009. For the first time in over two hundred years pirates hi-jack an US ship. The movie sticks to the facts as I remember, and the acting is incredible. Tom Hanks plays Captain Phillips, and a bunch of Somalian’s living in the US played the pirates. None of the Somalis had any prior acting experience. All I can say is that either they picked up acting from Tom Hanks very quickly, or Hollywood filmed genuine pirates during a hi-jack. The Somalis did a fabulous job of convincing me that they were pirates.

I won’t talk a lot about the film except to explain that the US Navy came to the rescue.  A battleship, an aircraft carrier and a another smaller vessel between them. Navy Seals flew in from another part of the world parachuted into the Indian Ocean near the ships and did their job.

Coming out of the movie, I met my buddy Al standing near the exit. He beat me to the john at the end and waited for me. As I walked toward him I said, “I can’t believe it, three Navy ships, helicopters, and Seals from somewhere to rescue a single American yet we couldn’t offer a single resource to the Ambassador in Benghazi. He smiled and said. “the same thing kept going through my mind for the entire movie.

At dinner Al and I continued to analyze the differences between Somalian piracy and the Benghazi Embassy attack. We concluded that the prime difference was the 2012 election. Obama ran around the country bragging about Al Qaeda on the run and how he killed bin Laden and that terrorism is declining. Had he acknowledged Benghazi as a real threat, he would have blown all his campaign rhetoric and looked like a complete dummy. We all know that wasn’t going to happen. Incumbent presidents do very strange things to get re-elected. In this case Obama killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Information Officer, and Seals Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods in the embassy in Benghazi, Libya. His right hand Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is also complicit.

My lifetime spans thirteen presidents, and never have I heard any rumor, innuendo, or a smattering of gossip about any of them committing murder to win an election until number thirteen.

Benghazi was within an hour of the nearest military team ready to deal with a terrorist attack. Three men died while defending the Ambassador. There are reports that the three took out sixty or more of the two-hundred or more attackers with the limited resources they had. All it would have taken was another seven Seals to squash the attack. Had there been some air support, each attacker would be happily engaged with his seventy virgins.

What ever Obama and his spin-masters tell you about the Benghazi attack is a huge stretch of the truth (another way to express that is that they are telling you a lie). Obama allowed his embassy team to die because he chose to go to bed, and to leave them hanging. I call it murder, and every one who voted for this guy is an accomplice to murder as well.

To My Kids Who Want To Put Me Away

Well Kids, here is another article from your crazy old man who you believe belongs in a home for thinking and blogging the way he does. Regardless of what you say or think of me, I will not sit still and watch a carpet-bagger wise guy take our great country away from you. For me it doesn’t make much difference any more. Your mom is gone, and I am nearing the end of my time with you. I won’t lose much, but you will become a slave to the government. If you go on welfare which I don’t think any of you will ever do, you will stay in the workforce. You will be one of the few who work for the élite bastards in charge, and all those who feed from their trough. You won’t call it slavery, but you will call it taxery.
Your Mom and I hoped we raised you to want a life that is better than what we gave you. I see you struggling to make ends meet, and how hard you work to live an independent life. I commend you for that, I am proud of that. I also know that you can read, so I ask that you read this essay by another crack-pot like your old man. Wayne Allen Root has written an excellent essay explaining what is really going on. I wrote about the Cloward-Piven strategy back in 2009 shortly after Obama took charge. Back then you all thought I was a racist old man, but I hope by now you are learning that maybe I was just a wee bit right.

Barack Hussein Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. On the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within. Barack Hussein Obama was my college classmate (Columbia University, class of ’83).
He is a devout Muslim; do not be fooled. Look at his czars… Anti-business anti-American. As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Barack Hussein Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University.  They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands.
Add up the clues below. Taken individually, they’re alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a Socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival.  And can be counted on to always vote for even bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.
Universal Health Care:
The Health Care bill has very little to do with healthcare. It has everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and healthcare workers as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn’t care that giving free healthcare to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?
Cap and Trade:
Like healthcare legislation having nothing to do with healthcare, Cap and Trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy, and a criminal payoff to Obama’s biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama spread the wealth around.
                                                           Making Puerto Rico a state:
Who’s asking for a 51st state? Who’s asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers! But this has been Barack Hussein Obama’s plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressmen and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.
(This will tip the balance of those living off the government to more than those who must pay for it; and we’re done for.)
Legalize 12 million illegal Mexican immigrants:
Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free healthcare alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America. But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security. (see note above re: Puerto Rico)
Stimulus and bailouts
Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions — including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues).
All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America. The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful.
The ends justify the means. Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama).
Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Barack Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition. With the acts outlined above, Barack Hussein Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.
Add it up and you’ve got the perfect Marxist scheme all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Hussein Obama using the Cloward-Piven Strategy.
Last point: think about what this designed rule of the rabble will do to anyone successful and everyone receiving this is. What will your lives be like under Communism? The time to fight this abomination is now.
