This message is a doozie, but it strikes to the heart of a problem, i.e. political correctness .
After being interviewed by the school administration, the prospective teacher said:
“Let me see if I’ve got this right.
You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages and instill in them a love for learning.
You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their sense of self-esteem and personal pride.
You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a check book, and apply for a job.
You want me to check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and ensure that they all pass their final exams.
You also want me to provide them with an equal education regardless of their handicap and communicate regularly with their parents in English, Arabic or any other language, by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card
You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for “New Start.”
You want me to do all this, and then you tell me……
I CAN’T wear a necklace with a little cross, mention God, or say “Merry Christmas” because someone might take offense? “
Well, you know what you can do with your job……..
We all should have the same rights, whatever your religion.
This should be posted in every school in America and all countries.
Think about it!
If Muslims can pray anywhere, why are Christians banned from praying in public and from erecting religious displays on their holy days?
What happened to our National Day of Prayer?
Muslims are allowed to block off major streets, in all American States and pray in the middle of the street! And it’s a monthly ritual!
Tell me, again, whose country is this?

Are you saying you are against separation of church and state? Or just that you want people to have the freedom to say and do offensive things? Because we do have free speech. People can say what they please. And if someone is offended, that’s their problem.
I live in the United States and I have never once seen a Muslim person praying in public. Not in person, have you? I’m not Christian, but if someone says “Merry Christmas” to me, I don’t mind, I say “Merry Christmas” right back. Whatever right wing pundits you are listening to and they’re telling you there is a War on Christmas, they are LYING. Christmas is all over the place and real people still say “Merry Christmas” to each other regularly.
Anyone can get a permit to have a public gathering, if they go through the appropriate channels – that’s equality for you.
Thanks for your insightful comment. What I am saying is that all religions should be treated the same. If Christians are banned from putting up religious displays during their holy season they should be allowed to do so just like the same government allows Muslims to pray in the street. Yes, I have seen Muslims in public prayer. Your last sentence bothers me more, and that is the government shouldn’t be “giving” us a permit to gather in public. We should be free to gather whenever, and where ever we wish. I know my comment will ignite a firestorm of controversy, but I have a right to say that, don’t I?
I agree, we should have the right to gather without needing a permit. I’m totally for that.
I’m curious where you stand on the commercialization of Christmas? What about the fact that many people who celebrate Christmas are not Christian? They use it as an excuse to spend lots of money (or go into lots of credit card debt) and don’t embrace the spirit of charity and giving that the story of Christ embodies?
To me, that is the REAL war on Christmas.
Christmas has become too commercialized and as such the secular world has jumped onto the bandwagon. God gave us his Son, and we as christians convey His gift to us by giving to those we love. It is that simple. Many people believe in giving gifts to their loved ones, and use Christmas as an excuse to do it. That’s okay. They may not be Christians but they understand the idea of sacrificing to give to someone that they love.
